DIRECTORS NOTE

Hello, and thank you very much for coming to see our show!!! I am so proud of the work that the cast has done to embody everything that everyone loves about High School Musical 2, from the camp and glam to the heartbreak and love that you experience at the dawn of adulthood in high school. I am so fortunate to have had the cast and team I did to help me bring all of that together, and I credit just how much everyone loves each other and is willing to just play around on stage as a big reason why this process felt so rewarding, impactful, and successful to me.

In my opinion, life (in theater especially!) is the best when we all work and play together as much as possible. That became the core of my directing and throughout the process, I kept asking and involving as many minds as possible because I feel like that's also the heart of the show: not only finding community while being true to yourself, but relying on the love of those same people to find out what success really means to YOU and growing into who you really want to be!

I truly believe all forms of art inspire every other form, so here is some of the art I kept engaging with that inspired in me the themes that I knew I wanted in our show. The albums Flower Boy by Tyler, the Creator and We Got It From Here... Thank You 4 Your Service by A Tribe Called Quest were on repeat throughout, as well as the movies Josie & The Pussycats, Logan Lucky, and Ratatouille.

I hope you can feel the love and laughter that we all experienced putting this together and take some of it home with you! Again, I could not be prouder of this cast and team, and thank you all again very much for coming out to lend your support to us!!!

-Jacob Frye

This is Sage’s 11th production at StageDoor, where she has previously appeared as Queen Aggravain in Once Upon a Mattress, Walter Hobbs in Elf and Charlie Cowell in The Music Man. She would love to thank everyone who made the show possible and will try not to roll her eyes when her brother starts another dramatic solo, because after all she is the family’s favorite performer.

That's adorable Sage. Hello everyone, I'm Sage’s older brother Teddy and will be playing Troy Bolton.  It's a lot of responsibility and I would like to thank our directors for the trust, my castmates for pushing me to do my best, and my family for accepting that I'm the favorite performer.
