The Hamlet Thrill-ma-geddon:
To sell out or not to sell out? Not really much of a question for the drama club as they try to mount Shakespeare’s greatest play with a budget of $8. But it’s not tickets that will fund the show this year: It’s sweet, sweet corporate sponsorship and mid-play advertising. Who cares if Hamlet never spoke about his love for Dr. Pepper and Gatorade? Or if Disney thinks it’s more on brand to tack on a happy ending? Shakespeare’s dead and not around to complain (or sue). A comedy about artistic integrity in the face of buckets of cash.

Welcome to Windermere Secondary's performance of THE HAMLET THRILL-MA-GEDDON! I was a unique challenge to bring a show together this year, and we are grateful to be able to share the result. Our students brought dedication and enthusiasm to the unique challenges this year presented.
As Polonius says in Act 1 (of our version), "We could use some entertainment around here." If you love Hamlet, or if you, like Chip, fell asleep during the movie with Mel Gibson, we hope you will enjoy this group of committed actors staging a version as sponsored by various lifestyle brands.
