About the Play

Henry VI, Part 3 is Shakespeare’s least-performed work—not to mention, his most violent history play. This adaptation picks up where our last show left off: King Henry is still trapped in a role to which he is entirely unsuited, Queen Margaret is too busy grieving her lover’s death to bother feigning affection for her husband, the Earl of Warwick has secured his spot as the power behind the throne...and the Duke of York, backed with an obscure genealogical claim and a private army, is finally ready to seize the crown. The ensuing fallout simultaneously comprises an action-packed revenge tragedy, a wrenching cautionary tale about incompatible definitions of loyalty, a psychologically nuanced exploration of trauma in a society whose conceptualization of masculinity affords little room for non-aggressive expressions of emotion, and an often-comedic portrait of a dysfunctional family.

We are honored to provide New York City’s theater community with a rare opportunity to experience this play—in all of its bloody, tonally complex, darkly melodramatic glory. Enjoy the show!

Meet the Company

Charlotte Blacklock* (Margaret)
Charlotte is a classically trained actor, singer, and voiceover artist. In addition to her work in New York, she has appeared on stage in numerous theaters around the Washington, D.C., area. Favorite roles include Suzy in Wait Until Dark and Phebe in As You Like It (Baltimore Shakespeare Factory). This is her second production with Atlas Shakespeare Company, and she is over the moon to be reprising her role as Queen Margaret, she-wolf of France.

William Oliver Watkins* (York)

Clayton Hamburg (Warwick)
Clayton Hamburg holds an MFA from the Shakespeare Theatre Company's Academy for Classical Acting at George Washington University. Mr. Hamburg is over the moon to once again be working with Atlas Shakespeare. Herein, he reprises his role as Warwick the Kingmaker in Atlas Shakespeare's Henry VI part 3, wherein you'll find him dying to make a semblance of political progress take place. Clayton, a recent transplant to NYC, spends his summers as the entertainment director for the New York Renaissance Faire, and the rest of the year zipping all over the country to get his grubby little paws dirty performing and playing Shakespeare.

Leah Schwartz* (Elizabeth)
Leah Schwartz is a Brooklyn-based actor and stage combat artist. She is thrilled to return to work with Atlas Shakespeare! Acting credits include Henry VI Part 1 (Joan of Arc), Romeo & Juliet (Romeo), As You Like It (Rosalind), and Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson - Apt. 2B (Sherlock Holmes). Fight choreography credits include Big Love (York College), Julius Caesar (York College), and Macbeth (Columbia University). She has trained with New York Combat for Stage & Screen, The British Academy of Dramatic Combat, The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and is a graduate of Marymount Manhattan College; BFA Acting. Alexander Nero (Louis; Rivers)
Educator and actor Alexander Nero, Atlas Shakespeare Company's co-founder and executive director, has performed in the works of many classic playwrights. His lengthy roster of notable Shakespearian rôles includes Humphrey of Gloucester in Atlas’s recent production of Henry VI, Parts One & Two, Don Pedro in Much Ado About Nothing, Buckingham in Richard III, Gonzalo in the The Tempest, Worcester in Henry IV, Part 1, Pompey in Measure for Measure, and Touchstone in As You Like It. Alexander holds a B.A. in Classical Studies from Hunter College, and an M.L.S. from Queens College. He is a certified public librarian in the State of New York.

Timm Coleman* (Clifford)
Timm Coleman was born in Hollywood, California, circumvented the globe aboard the USS Enterprise, rode his bicycle cross-country during the pandemic, and is planning a “Great Loop” boat trip from NYC to NYC via the Hudson River, Great Lakes, Mississippi River, and the Intracoastal Waterways. A William Esper Alumni, he feels that performing Shakespeare (like French cuisine and Italian architecture) moves his left and right brain from contentious bickering to contented hand holding. Storytelling and performing onstage provide a happiness that can only be matched by wandering. Enjoy life’s journey and enjoy the show!

Gabe Girson* (Buckingham)
Gabe Girson (Buckingham) is an actor, director, and tap dancer based in Brooklyn. He most recently played Alençon and Buckingham in Atlas Shakespeare’s Henry VI Parts 1 + 2, and is excited to be back to finish the saga! Other theatre credits include productions with Arachne Theatre, Epic Players, Theatre 315, American Theatre of Actors, 92NY Theatre for Young Audiences, and Theatre for the New City. He also regularly performs in cabarets, tap dance jams, and independent film. Outside being creative, he enjoys chess, earl grey tea, and taking long walks in Prospect Park. gabegirson.com

Chris Clark is thrilled to be performing with Atlas Shakespeare company again, and this group of wonderful actors and fantastic people. Zachary C. Clark* (Richard)
Zach has been living and working in theater and film in New York since 2010. He currently teaches Drama at the School of Collaborative Studies in Chelsea.

Christa Sousa (Rutland; Bona; Watchman #1)
Christa is thrilled to make her Shakespeare debut in Henry VI, Part 3. She’s honored to share the stage with such a wildly talented cast and has learned a great deal (including how to die more dramatically). She’s especially grateful for the opportunity to collaborate once again with our brilliant director, Adriana, whose Shakespeare insight and sharp sense of humor continue to inspire her. Recent credits include co-starring on Law & Order, as well as stage work at The Secret Theatre, Frigid NY at The Kraine, and Theatre 54 with Chelsea Rep Company.

Nicholas Grevera* (Somerset; Hastings)
Nicholas Grevera wears a lot of hats! He holds an MFA in Performing Arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design. His brief resume includes I love you, You're Perfect, Now Change! at the Lake George Dinner Theatre, All Shook Up! at the Lucas Theatre in Savannah Ga, and in his grandparents living room doing small skits and performances. Reid Watson (Edward)
Reid Watson has previously been seen as Cloten in Cymbeline (Hamlet Isn’t Dead Shakespeare Co.), Octavius in Antony & Cleopatra, Bertram in All’s Well That Ends Well. Other recent credits include Reynaldo in When My Cue Comes (New York City Fringe), as well as Four Seasons and Etched Glass Decanter with Evening Crane Theatre. Yeshua Ellis (Clarence)
Yeshua Ellis is thrilled to be making his debut with Atlas Shakespeare. His recent credits include Brutus in Julius Caesar (BrooklynOne), Ben in Night of the Living Dead (OpenStage), and the dual roles of Belize/Mr. Lies in Angels in America, Parts I & II. He has also played leading roles such as the titular king in Sardanapalus and Vincentio in Measure for Measure. When not on stage, Yeshua is an MA candidate at the NYU Silver School of Social Work and a proud cat dad.

Ryan Molloy (Henry)
Originally from Boston, Ryan has his BFA in Theatre Performance from Hofstra University. Favorite previous Shakespeare roles include King Richard (Richard II, Hudson Shakespeare), Marullus/Titinius (Julius Caesar, Rosa 386), and Tybalt (Romeo and Juliet, IN BK Productions). He can also be seen as Troh in Huemon Sho (written/directed by Michael Capodiferro); now playing at the Brooklyn Sci-Fi Film Festival. When he’s not acting or bartending, Ryan’s probably late for a party, or biking to a craft beer shop in some remote, unheard of corner of Brooklyn. This is Ryan’s debut performance with Atlas Shakespeare and he’s thrilled to be here with such clear devotees of the Bard’s finest and perhaps most underrated plays.

Adriana Alter (Director)
Adriana Alter is the co-founder and artistic director of Atlas Shakespeare Company. Her extensive theatrical credits include work with Two Good Dogs Productions, the Secret Theatre, Hip to Hip Theatre Company, the Riant Theatre, Chelsea Rep/The Acting Studio, Identity Theater Company/Nicu’s Spoon Theater Company, Royal Family Productions, and Hartford Stage, among others. Adriana holds advanced degrees in Medieval and Renaissance Studies (Columbia University) and Shakespeare Studies (King’s College London, in association with the Globe Theatre).

Jevyn Nelms (Costume Designer)
Jevyn Nelms, a native Chicagoan, currently resides on the Lower East Side. She is a graduate of Tufts University, Fordham Law School, and The Fashion Institute of Technology. She has designed 14 feature films; and 8 plays including, Wonderful Town - The Gallery Players Theater, Much Ado About Nothing - Monster Piece Theater (closed), A Peregrine Falls - The Wild Project, War Dreamer - The Wild Project, She’s Got Harlem on Her Mind - The Metropolitan Theater (closed), for which she received a favorable review in The New York Times, and two one act plays by Tennessee Williams at the Nuance Theater, this past June. She recently designed costumes for four Shakespeare plays, Romeo and Juliet, A Winter’s Tale, As You Like It, and King Lear, for an upcoming coffee table book. Everi Osofsky (Assistant Costumer)
Everi is a NYC-based costumer with a passion for dress history and storytelling through costuming. She earned a Costume Design and Wardrobe Technician Certificate from FIT earlier this year. In her free time she sews for her own cosplays, which she documents on her costume-dedicated Instagram account, @everi.wear.
