Meet the Company

Wayne Henry (Chad / Hooper / Book, Music & Lyrics)

Wayne Henry has had a passion for comedy since watching "Airplane!", "Three's Company", and "Mama's Family" as a child, a hopes you see all those influences here. After graduation from Brandeis University, he trained further in London and in NYC with Penny Templeton Studio, UCB and The P.I.T.  Numerous Off & Off-Off Broadway credits include “The Play About the Naked Guy”, “In the Bar of a Tokyo Hotel” (dir: Everett Quinton), and “The Strangest Kind of Romance”.  Wayne has also acted in and filmed/edited independent films which have won awards and screenings around the world, and appeared in commercials and pop-up ads.  He is one-half of the sketch comedy duo Henry & Stein with Suzanne Stein. Creating original works along the way, Wayne is very thankful to present “JAWS: the (Very Unauthorized) Musical!” at The Laurie Beechman Theater and the hard-working and hilarious cast & crew! www.MrWayneHenry.com

Natty Bumpercar (Chief Brody)

Natty Bumpercar has been doing stand-up and improv comedy for many-many years. He works clean, has a bundle of energy, loves to engage the crowd, and makes sure that everyone has a blast at his shows. He mostly performs in the tri-state area— but has also worked up and down the East Coast at major clubs, colleges, and festivals. He is also a visual artist who has produced cartoons and webcomics, has a podcast (the ‘Bumperpodcast’— https://www.bumperpodcast.com) that can all be found on his website (https://www.nattybumpercar.com), has worked on the radio, and has been in films, theater, and commercials.

Suzanne Stein (Quint)

Suzanne Stein is a stand-up comedian, comedic actor and comedy producer who has performed throughout the tri-state area at comedy clubs, fundraisers, retreats, country clubs, and special events. Finding humor in the chaos of being human, Suzanne frequently pulls comedy from her real-life experiences of navigating autism parenting. She has been playing the role of Quint in Jaws: the (very unauthorized) Musical! since the show's inception. Suzanne has performed sketch comedy, among other things with longtime pal and collaborator Wayne Henry (Henry & Stein). Along with business partner and co-conspirator Natty Bumpercar, Suzanne co-produces Sweet & Sour Comedy shows and the Montclair Comedy Festival. Working with this cast has provided Suzanne with an abundance of laughter - which she simply does not have the core stamina to endure. As always, Suzanne dedicates this and every performance to her best girl - you know who you are, PQ!

Evie Apple (Mayor Vaughn)

Evie Apple, sometimes known as the Vixen of Virtue, is a dancer, singer, gamer, cosplayer, Loki variant, and all around silly nerdy person. She gained her love of musical theater and the stage very early in life, and she's performed with many cabaret and dance troupes in the tri-state area, including producing and choreographing NJ's first cabaret burlesque troupe, The Corsettes. Now in her villain era, she feels wickedly grateful to share the stage with this amazing cast as the one and only Mayor Vaughn of Amity Island.

Alvin Urbano (Cotton Candy Salesman / Father Ramos)

Alvin Urbano is making his acting debut in Jaws: The VERY UNAUTHORIZED Musical. Against all odds, he survived rehearsals and has lived to tell the tale. When not on stage, he can be found explaining that this seemed like a good opportunity at the time…💁🏻‍♂️

He thanks the cast and crew for their laughter, patience and support, and hopes everyone leaves the theater with the same number of limbs they arrived with.

Meet the Cast of "JAWS: the (Very Unauthorized) Musical!"

“JAWS: the (Very Unauthorized) Musical!” began as “Jaws: the Musical!” - a three-part sketch as a through-line in a sketch comedy show at the historic Rose’s Turn in NYC’s Greenwich Village. The three acts were combined with reprises to create a full one-act show.  It was then chosen to be part of the Riant Theater’s Strawberry One-Act Festival, which is a 40-play elimination tournament in NYC, and it won first place!

A few years later “Jaws: the Musical!” resurfaced as part of Emerging Artists Theater’s Notes from a Page developmental reading series. Additional songs and scenes were added. After that, two weekends at the Broadway Comedy Club were booked, which quickly turned into a three-month run.

Since that three-month run, Sweet & Sour Comedy produced a series of workshop readings at La Serra Gardens in Totowa NJ which led to last year’s successful debut at the NY Frigid (Fringe) Festival to sold out houses and great reviews in Manhattan! The musical then headed to the shores of Matawan, NJ - a borough with its own shark-laden past - as part of their Shark Week 2026 festivities.

The show premiers its full-length, 70-minute version at The Laurie Beechman Theater on October 18th as “JAWS: the (Very Unauthorized) Musical”! with an additional fifteen minutes of material - that’s more jokes, more characters, and more songs!

Thank you to Michael D'Angora, Brent Michael Jones, and the entire staff at The West Bank Cafe and The Laurie Beechman Theater!

Thank you Broadway World, "Hi! Drama", and Stage Whisper podcast.
