Angie Hokulani (BILLIE)

Angie Hokulani Miller is a professional dancer and choreographer based in New York City. She was born and raised in Kāneʻohe, Hawaii and moved to NYC at 17 years old. She attended Steps On Broadway's conservatory program and was awarded a scholarship & achievement award. Since graduating, Angie has appeared in music videos such as Saleka's Clarity, choreographed Sammi Rae's Nunca, and danced in the 2019 World Pride parade in NYC. To learn more: angiehokulani.com

Mackenzie Burtt (STEVIE)

Mackenzie Burtt grew up dancing a wide variety of styles. She has participated in many dance programs around the U.S. including Joffrey Ballet School’s trainee program, BDC’s Professional Program, Ballet Arizona’s intensive, and Next Generation Ballet's intensive. She has also toured with Scotland’s Ballet West as well as danced with Complexions' Pre-professional program, performing with the company during their 26th season at the Joyce.

During the pandemic, Mackenzie hunkered down in New York and continued assisting ballet classes under the mentorship of Kate Loh at Broadway Dance Center. She is currently with Jersey City Ballet and on Nutcracker contracts with Brooklyn Ballet and City Ballet of Boston. Mackenzie additionally freelances in NYC with a concentration in ballet, musical theater, and contemporary dance.

Michaela Esteban (RICKY)

Michaela Esteban (she/her) is a Filipina-American Brooklyn-based freelance dance artist. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where she performed works by Shannon Gillen, Jawolle Willa Jo Zollar, Ohad Naharin, Alex Springer & Xan Burley, and Doris Humphrey, among others. Upon graduation, Michaela spent a season as a performing apprentice with GroundWorks Dance Theater in addition to freelancing with the Wilder Project and Sonia Plumb Dance Company. Michaela currently collaborates with little house dance company, GREYZONE, and the Moving Architects.

Erin Joy Grgas (Ensemble; Dance Captain)

Erin Joy Grgas is a fully vaccinated New York City based dancer, trained extensively in theater jazz and Broadway tap. She has been seen dancing in Broadway by the Year at The Town Hall with Danny Gardner and in Times Square with the TSQ Project. At 19, Erin moved to Pittsburgh PA to dance for RWS Entertainment Group at Kennywood theme park, and then she was tapping in Anything Goes! When Erin isn’t performing, she has a passion for teaching, and is faculty at ATDW and a Steps Youth Program Assistant! To pass her time during lockdown, Erin decided to go back to college and is working on her Kinesiology and Human Performance degree online through The State University of New York.

Jeremy Makana Hurr (Ensemble)

Jeremy "Jer" Makana Hurr (They/He)(“Makana” = gift) is a New York City based actor/singer/dancer. Theater and the arts have helped Jer evolve into the person they are today. When Jer was 8, their first role on stage was an Oompa Loompa and it led them to get a BFA in Musical Theatre with a Dance Concentration from Otterbein University. When Jer's grandmother passed in 2019, they were determined to carry on her legacy. Her Kuleana (responsibility) and generosity towards the people around her has inspired Jer to this day. Jer believes it is their Kuleana to bring that into any work they do while encouraging others to do the same.

Kyle Marra (Ensemble)

Kyle Marra (he/him) is a New York based dancer and actor. Originally from Upstate New York, Kyle received his dance training from the School of the Arts at the National Museum of Dance. Kyle is an alumnus of SUNY New Paltz, where he graduated summa cum laude studying History and Theatre Arts. Currently, he is a company member with Hudson Ballet Theatre. Lester Eugene Mayers (Voiceover Artist)

Lester Eugene Mayers is a Brooklyn native, a graduate of the Department of Theatre Arts at SUNY New Paltz, and an MFA graduate of the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics. Gay-Black-feminine, and a feminist, Mayers tackles issues that have historically been ignored by the public. He has been published by the Huffington Post, Arsenal Pulp Press, LAMBDA LITERARY, Chronogram, Sojourner Truth Library, Colorado’s Boulder Weekly, and I Am from Driftwood LGBTQ archive.

He has performed at many universities & theaters, including SUNY Oswego, Pace University, University at Buffalo, and Delta State University, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, Denizen Theater & Unframed Artist Gallery. Including online virtual readings and workshop facilitation.

His first book, 100 Poems for 100 Voices, resulted in a sold-out poetry tour and a poetry album available on iTunes, Spotify, and Tidal. Reception of four awards, including the Visionary Award from the National Advancement of Colored Woman Organization and two New York State proclamations. His second book of poetry, African Booty Scratcha (lovin da ashy-blaq fat chall wit yella teef, peasy head & a broken smile), debuted in November 2019. Mayers recently published a new critical examination book entitled A Spring of Gay-Black-Feminine Joy: A Critical Moment February 2021.

Casey Leach (Musician)

Casey Scott Leach is a multidisciplinary artist and teacher. He was born and raised in Columbus Ohio, received his Bachelors of Fine Arts from Cincinnati Conservatory of Music (CCM) for Acting, and moved to New York in 2011, where he has been producing and performing ever since. His main artistic output has been with Hit The Lights! Theater Company, with whom he co-writes, directs, designs, puppet crafts, and performs regularly. Outside of HTL!, Casey's artistic endeavors have been as varied as his interests: singing and playing bass in the indie rock band Go Home; writing and editing an online comic; performing and teaching stage combat; and publishing poetry in zines. For as long as Casey has been an artist, he has also been passionate about student guidance and development. Ariana Andretta (Director/Choreographer)

Ariana Andretta is a multi-hyphenate artist who believes in celebrating community through dance & theatre. Ariana holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts (summa cum laude) from SUNY New Paltz. She is currently on faculty for the dance & theatre programs at Manhattan Youth and an assistant for Broadway Dance Center Children & Teens.

As a performer, Ariana has worked regionally on MARY POPPINS (Potsdam Music Theatre) with choreography by Joe Langworth (Broadway: ACL, RAGTIME, FOLLIES). She has also danced and worked with creatives like Al BlackstoneBilly GriffinJena VanElslanderRichard Pierlon, & Sarah Burke.

In the choreographic sphere, Ariana recently debuted "The Conscious Club" with the Jazz Choreography Enterprises' 2021 Jazz Dance Project. She has apprenticed with Freddy Ramirez (Broadway: GREASE) on PIPPIN (Proctors Theatre) and choreographed/assisted in educational settings throughout NYC & Upstate NY. Ariana's work has also been featured in local festivals such as NACHMO (Mark Morris Dance Center), PLUNGE (Peridance), and A Burden to Bare group art exhibition.

Lia-Shea Tillett (Associate Director/Choreographer)

Lia-Shea Tillett is an NYC born and based performer and creative. She began her performance journey through dance at the age of 3, and picked up a love for acting, singing, and choreography along the way. Lia-Shea holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts Performance from SUNY New Paltz and is represented by Kreativ Artists and DDO Artists Agency. Her work has been seen both regionally, Off-Broadway and in various venues across NYC. Aimee Smyke (Graphic Designer)

Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Aimee Smyke moved to NYC in 2015 to pursue a BFA in Commercial Dance from Pace University with a minor in Digital and Time-Based Art. Aimee has performed with several companies in both NYC and LA including Caleb Teicher and Company, Broadway Cares, and Emma Portner’s ‘The Flock’ among others. Since graduating in 2019 Aimee has worked with Dance Lab New York (Broadway Dance Lab), appeared as a featured dancer in Bridesmaids: A Dance Narrative, and participated in a workshop for the new musical, BLISS. Her film credits include Superfruit’s “Worth It” and Mario Spinetti’s "High Hopes." Aimee recently moved to Los Angeles where she is currently a member of Royal Flux Dance Company and teaches all over LA. When she isn’t dancing she spends her time as a freelance digital artist- creating animation, illustration, and digital content. She is constantly striving to discover new ways to integrate her two biggest passions- dance and digital art.

Alayna Klein (Production Assistant)

Alayna Klein is a NYC-based set designer and fine artist. Select design credits include: Fully Committed (6th Street Playhouse), Driving Miss Daisy (Jean’s Playhouse), Spit (Virtual Theatre Collaboration) and Leaving Eden (New York Musical Festival 2019, winning outstanding overall design). She received a B.A. in Theatre Arts, as well as a B.A. in Fine Arts from SUNY New Paltz. Prior to Covid-19, Alayna was a studio assistant for David Korins, where she was able to work on a variety of projects including the Broadway productions of Beetlejuice and Mrs. Doubtfire as well as The Drama Book Shop renovation. Timothy Gage (Production Assistant)

Timothy Gage is a New York City based theatre artist, educator, and administrator. As an artist, Timothy works as a director and choreographer and has put up numerous shows with students ages 5-18. As an educator, he has facilitated classes and workshops in acting, dance, writing, improv, speech, movement, and more to students ages 3-80. Timothy has taught at New York Theatre Workshop, Brooklyn Acting Lab, Stagedoor Manor, TADA! Youth Theatre, A Class Act NY, and Millbrook Playhouse. Administratively, he is currently on staff at American Ballet Theatre working in the Pre-Professional Division of the JKO School and the Internship Program. He holds a BA in Theatre Arts from SUNY New Paltz and is currently working towards his MA in Educational Theatre at NYU.

LOVE & OTHER STORIES: AN ORIGINAL DANCE NARRATIVE

Love & Other Stories is an original dance narrative premiering on Sunday, September 26th at Snug Harbor Cultural Center (Staten Island). Directed, choreographed, and conceived by Ariana Andretta, the show follows four young women and their separate journeys in their quest to define love. They are connected by their place of residence, as they happen to be living in the same NYC apartment a few decades apart. A 2:30pm preview and 4:30pm performance will take place at Snug Harbor's South Meadow Stage.

The cast is set to include: Angie Hokulani; Erin Joy Grgas (Broadway by the Year/The Town Hall); Jeremy Makana Hurr (Alabama Shakespeare); Kyle Marra (Hudson Ballet Theatre); Mackenzie Burtt (Ballet West); Michaela Esteban (GREYZONE); and Sarina Gonzalez (Broadway Bares). Lia-Shea Tillett (THE BOOK OF MERMAN, Asst. Dir./Choreo.) will represent the production as Associate Director/Choreographer in addition to featuring as a vocalist.
