Meet the Company

is delighted to be a part of One Empire, Under God! He previously starred in Anthony J. Piccione's previous play A Therapy Session with Myself as Alex. Dan studied acting at the Barrow Group and has a degree in Theatre from the University of Scranton. He would like to thank his partner Megan and their dog Watson for making every day a joy.

is an actor, singer, competitive ballroom dancer, stage director, and an acting coach who specializes in opera and music theater. He has directed productions internationally with the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Houston Grand Opera, the Florida Grand Opera, and the opera companies of Fort Worth, Lake George, Madison, Arizona, Toledo, Atlanta, Kansas City, Baltimore, Boise and Jackson. He has served on the faculty the Mannes School of Music, Bard College and Yale University. He is a member of New York’s Shakespeare Without Fear workshop, and appears in several independent films, including Bastion, Backpfeifengesicht, Texas & Alexis, The Life I Knew and The Quarantine Murders. He is a member of PlayZoomers ensemble for whom he has appeared in Good Corporate Citizen, as well as directing Curveball in September of this year and Kill Your Darlings in November. With New York Modern Opera, he has appeared as the Judge in Sweeney Todd and as the Mysterious Man/Narrator in Into the Woods. At the Metropolitan Opera, he was the Major-Domo in Strauss’s Ariadne auf Naxos. He was awarded Classical Singers Magazine Stage Director of the Year in 2006.

graduated from Adelphi University with her BFA in Theatre in 2017. Since then, Sarah has been fortunate to perform in numerous theater productions across the country. She has also played small roles in film and television as well as production positions. Sarah is also a teacher of the arts and advocates for the presence of the arts in early childhood education and development. She is beyond thrilled to be a part of an incredible cast during a time where theatre is scarce and all the more needed. Thank you!

A drama student at NYU Tisch, Sanskar thrilled to be part of One Empire, Under God. In this piece of rebellion, he promises to bring a lot of energy and unpredictability - all the way from his screen to yours. He hopes you’ll be sitting on the edge of your bed frame with bated breath, and carry the laptop with you, should you ever get up to get something. Notable credits in his past year of virtual theatre include Marjorie Prime (Tisch ETW Mainstage), The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity (Latinx Artists Collective), Ad Nauseum (Fresh Lime Soda Productions), Everybody (Stella Alder), Dracula (Dunvegan Productions), The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time (Virtual Students Theatre Company).

This production marks Tim’s return to live theater after a 30-year break (during which he earned an MBA, got married, bought a house, raised two kids, sang ‘New York New York’ to 8,000 Germans at Octoberfest, climbed Huayna Picchu and survived his first Pandemic). In a prior life, Tim attended University of North Carolina School of the Arts and then worked professionally for eight years doing regional theater in High Point (NC), Kansas City (MO), and Portsmouth (NH). New York credits included Tiny Demons (Wonderhorse Theater) and Fool For Love (Douglas Fairbanks Theater). A personal message to Fran & Benno & Jules: “If you loved it, please say so. If not...just tell me you loved it!”

recently made his Off-Broadway debut with Lilies, or the Revival of the Romantic Drama. For the past 15 years he was the Executive Director of the non-profit Brave New Films and produced 5 full-length and dozens of short documentaries. He is thrilled to be part of the One Empire, Under God production. has appeared in over fifteen local theatre productions in her ten years as an actress. Her favorite roles include Miss Sherman from FAME the Musical and Hecuba from The Trojan Women. She has trained and graduated from the Master Meisner program at Truthful Acting Studio. Originally from Waterbury, CT, Lorena resides in the Sunshine State (FL) but is eager and open to roles wherever her career takes her. She thanks Piccione Arts for the wonderful opportunity to perform with them.

is an actor, theatre director, dancer and a mother who has a Bachelors of Arts in Theatre, French and Spanish from University of Pennsylvania and a MFA in Acting from Columbia University. She trained with Kristin Linklater, Andrei Serban, Anne Bogart and Niky and Ulla Wolcz. She spent years directing, choreographing, and teaching for the Dwight School, Fildwith Ensemble and County Prep HS. Most recently she performed in Fusion Theatre's in-person streamed production of No Exit (Estelle), as well as several online productions such as the new play Zachary Hates Everything (Mom/ Windsor), the film Spaghetti Western/Feature (Maria dei Gelati), the virtual play One Empire, Under God (Amaru Bakali, Ensemble), various Not Muppet Classic Theatre productions such as The Little Mermaid (Ariel) as well as other monthly production and the web series Lockdown Series (Aunt). Past productions include Luceafarul: the Legend of the Evening Star (Veronica) at the Off-Broadway Marjorie S. Deane Little Theatre, and the Acorn Theatre. (Theatre Row). Other acting credits include Machinal (Young Woman) at Grayfriar’s Kirk in Edinborough, Twelfth Night (Sir Andrew Aguecheek) at Shapiro Theatre, Turandot (Zelima, Arlechino) at LaMaMa etc. She would like to thank Anthony and Andres for this opportunity. is an actor and improviser from the Chicagoland area. Owen recently graduated from SCAD with a B.F.A in Performing Arts. To Owen, storytelling is one of the most important things that people do, and he is honored for the opportunity to be a part of that process. DFTBA!

is a current student at CUNY Hunter College majoring in Theatre. She wishes she had as many cool credits as her castmates but alas, high school and community theatre is about as cool as it gets with her. Favorite credits include Audrey (Little Shop of Horrors), Mary Flynn (Merrily We Roll Along), and Flapper Ancestor (The Addams Family).

is a trilingual New York-based actor and dancer born and raised in Rome, Italy. She started as a voice-over actor then later decided to fully follow her dreams and moved to New York City. Upon graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, she was offered a year of professional stage acting for the New York Academy Company. During that time, Beatrice originated the character of Checa in Margot Connolly’s play, Tough, directed by Taylor Reynolds. She also had the honor of starring in the New York City debut of Sisters on the Ground, written by Max Posner and directed by Lisa Milinazzo, as well as portraying Flo Owens in William Inge’s Picnic directed by Adrienne Williams. Beatrice is passionate about working on new materials where she can explore a raw sense of originality and freedom. She believes sarcasm to be her most powerful weapon.

is a theatrical actor from Fresno, CA. She graduated from the American Academy of the Dramatic Arts in 2019 in Los Angeles, CA. She performed as Henry V/Captain Gower in Henry V and as Meg Magrath in Crimes of the Heart at the Academy. Throughout the pandemic she did multiple virtual productions including Arms and the Man as Raina and a self-written piece entitled Heavy is the Crown as the Contessa. Sabrina hopes that everyone enjoys the show.

She has starred in the award-winning short film Victor!! and other indie feature and short films.

is looking forward to rejoining Anthony J. Piccione and company for the next series of performances of One Empire, Under God as Senator Jane Harvey. Although her former lifetime was in classical singing/opera, Ellen has appeared in ID Discovery shows Unbreakable: Live to Tell; Murder Comes to Town; Scene of the Crime; and A Perfect Murder. In the world of film, she has had lead roles in the short films Meet Mom, Ollie, and Raising Agatha, and supporting roles in feature films Donna Stronger Than Pretty, directed by Jaret Martino, and Hand of Bridge, directed by David Miller. She was also one of two leads in Pasha Reshikov’s The Invisible Blanket which was selected as the Best Indie Short at San Francisco’s Green Festival in 2019. For Insomniac Productions, Ellen has read the roles of Ouiser Boudreaux in Steel Magnolias; Lucretia Collins in Portrait of a Madonna; Halie in Sam Shepard’s Buried Child; and will be directing Tennessee Williams’ Vieux Carre on June 27. She also looks forward to a supporting role in a feature film which will be shooting in early August in the mountains of North Carolina. A classically trained performer, Clara has performed in both opera and musical theatre, including the premiers of two new works by Dr. John Sharpley, A Moment of Rest Upon the Wind, and Fences. An alumna of the LASALLE College of the Arts and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), Clara has been privileged to train under such luminaries as Ray Virta (Acting), Wendy Sharp (Voice) and Igor Goldin (Musical Theatre). Since graduating from AMDA, Clara has lent her voice to several podcasts, including voicing Finley in Starcrossed, appearing as a guest speaker on Planet Earth & Environment, as well as producing and game-mastering Star Trek: Columbia, a D&D Podcast. She has also been an actor in several virtual productions, including the AlphaNYC’s production of Help Desk, and Frank Sanchez Musicals’ The Great Dionysia Short Play Festival. Clara is looking forward to being a part of One Empire, Under God, and is grateful to the team for giving her the opportunity to create this work together.

is an award-winning writer and producer based in New York City. Born in Rochester, NY and raised in Connecticut, Piccione's full-length drama A Therapy Session with Myself premiered in January 2019 at the Hudson Guild Theatre before transferring in May to the Kraine Theater for an extended year-long run. It is now published at Smith Scripts, and is currently being adapted into a screenplay. Additionally, Piccione's eclectic canon of one-acts has previously been presented in NYC at The Tank, the Hudson Guild Theatre, Planet Connections Theatre Festivity, Midtown International Theatre Festival, and Manhattan Repertory Theatre, as well as at regional venues such as Playhouse on Park, Hole in the Wall Theatre, the Windsor Art Center, and Windham Theatre Guild, and are published at Smith Scripts, Heuer Publishing & Off the Wall Plays. His short drama What I Left Behind was named the NYWinterfest’s Best Short Play of 2018, and he was also nominated for Planet Connections Theatre Festivity’s Outstanding Playwright award for his avant-garde one-act 4 $tages, and his short film The Fire That Won’t Stop was recently named an official selection at the Venice Short Film Awards, the Paris International Short Festival & the Hollywood International Golden Age Festival. In addition to his independent work as a writer, Piccione also works as a scriptwriter-for-hire, and his work has been commissioned by Sesame Workshop, Speaks Volumes Productions, and various other clients. He is also the founder and Artistic Director of Talking It Out, a virtual theatre festival dedicated to mental health awareness, as well as the host of the weekly podcast Indie Art Today, and he also works as a teaching artist at Broadway Weekends where he offers private coaching for playwrights. (SDC Member/Director’s Gathering Member) is a Colombian director, choreographer, and performer based in New York City. Currently, Andrés is the Associate Artistic Director at The Phoenix Theatre. He has worked with theatre companies such as Out of the Box Theatrics, Misi Productions, Teatro SEA, Fuego Celta and Play Nice Theatre Company. Andrés is the founder of Cumbres Musical in Colombia, a preprofessional theatre program. He is also part of the founders of C.R.E.A. Collaborate to Reimagine and Evolve the Arts in New York City. As a director, he has worked on numerous theatrical productions both Off-Broadway and Regionally — including theaters such as the Davenport Theatre, the Kraine Theater, and the American Theatre of Actors, among others. His work as a creator has extended to numerous mediums beyond the theatre, including choreography and film direction. Within his acting career, Andrés has performed in various theatrical productions, film pieces, and dance works. Some career highlights include Indio in West Side Story, Peter Pan in Peter/Wendy, and How The Westons Won. He graduated from Misi School of Musical Theatre and The New York Film Academy’s Musical Theater and Film Professional Conservatory.

is a graduate of Oklahoma City University who has worked across the Midwest and is thrilled to begin making theatre in NYC. Originally from Dodge City, Kansas, he has held a wide variety of positions behind the scenes including stage manager (Kirkpatrick Theatre), prop artisan (Starlight Theatre), lighting designer (deMattias Hall), and production assistant (American Spirit Dance Company).

is a director, dramaturg, and storyteller who splits her time between New York and DC. Recent New York credits include Adrienne Truscott’s (Still) Asking for It (Joe’s Pub), Fountain of You (Zeiders American Dream Theater), House Plant (NYTW Next Door), and MoveMeant (Prospect Theater). Currently, she is working for Indiana State Museum and with Indianapolis Ballet. Valeriya has a Masters in Violin Performance and String Pedagogy from the Ohio State University. Valeriya is from Togliatty, Russia.
