Meet the Company

Aether (they/them) is originally from Florida and has done a number of shows, most of them being Shakespeare. Some of their favorites have been The Tempest and Romeo and Juliet. They are so excited to bring this story to life on stage.

Benedict ( he/him) has previously acted in Bright New Boise, CCBC’s Comedy Festival and CCBC’s Director Fest. He won the 48 Hour Film Festival at Towson University.

Jennifer (she/her) is delighted to be returning to the CCBC stage in The Christians. She is a recent graduate of California Baptist University with a BA in Theatre. Her previous roles include Meg March (Little Women), Nurse/Mrs (Sunday in the Park with George), and Nancy D (A New Brain). She thanks the audience for their support, the cast/crew for their hard work, her father for teaching her about theology, and God for this opportunity. Matthew 11:28

Dylan (he/him) has been performing in theatre for many years and is excited to be a part of his first CCBC theater production.

Jenny (she/her) will be graduating from CCBC this Spring and has been in two other productions at CCBC, debuting as Annie in The Play That Goes Wrong and as a student in John Proctor is the Villain. At Trinity Christian College, sh was in a series of Medieval Plays. Jochebed did four productions in high school: Tartuffe, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Scottish Play and Fools. She has had wonderful and insightful classes at CCBC from Damon Krometis, Jen Ring, and Julie Lewis, including Acting 1 & 2, Acting for the Camera, Script Analysis, Intro to Theatre and Voice and Diction. She will be transferring to Georgia and hopes to build an acting career there.

Melody (she/her) is excited to perform in this production of The Christians as a choir member. Although this is her first show on the CCBC Catonsville stage, she has done numerous others. Some of her favorites include Shrek the Musical, Rumors, and West Side Story. You may have noticed her as the Sea/Little Stone in the recent production of Eurydice at CCBC Essex. She would like to thank her spectacular cast and crew for their support. In addition, a special shout out to family and friends in the audience.

Kim (she/her) is a faculty member in the Communication Arts department and a part-time CCBC student. She has performed in dinner theatre productions in Maryland and trained in improvisational acting techniques at the Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles. They are happy to be in the cast for their first academic theatre production at CCBC.

Jay (they/them) is in their second semester at CCBC. They’re majoring in Theatre! They have been in two CCBC productions playing Kristine in Ms. Julie and Loud Stone in Eurydice!

Zeke (he/him) has run crew for the Brothers Size (Fall 2025) and Eurydice (Spring 2026) at CCBC. The Christians will be his first on stage production and he hopes to do more in the future!

Blake (he/him) is a freshmen at CCBC and is excited to join the cast of The Christians to put on an amazing show as part of the Church choir. Blake has already done plenty of shows at other places including Catonsville high school, but this will be his first here at CCBC. Though inexperienced in higher levels of theatre, Blake plans to do his part as best as he can.
Damon joined the CCBC faculty in 2019 is now Theatre Coordinator and an Associate Professor. He previously directed The One-Act Play That Goes Wrong, We Are Proud to Present . . ., The Underpants, and Clean Slate. He holds a MFA in Directing from Northwestern University and has been directing professionally for over 15 years. His work has been seen in New York, London, Chicago, Boston, Washington, DC, and Baltimore. An occasional playwright, his writing has been seen in New York, Baltimore, Chicago, Boston, Louisville, and various universities around the country. Damon is also an avid scholar of participatory theatre techniques, directing, and social change, and his articles have been published in Theatre Research International, The Journal of Dramatic Theory & Criticism, Theatre Topics and Howlround Theatre Commons (howlround.com). A native of Ellicott City, he is happy to be back in the mid-Atlantic and a part of the CCBC community.
Elliott (he/they) joins their third production at CCBC, after appearing as Nasreen/Belen in "Anonymous" and Marius Magnat/Richard Elliot in "Milan 1880". Though this is his first time on the production end of things, he is quite thrilled to be part of this show. A Maryland-based artist, Elliott plans to transfer to Towson University, majoring in Conservation Biology with a minor in Environmental Studies. In his free time, he enjoys reading and writing, especially poetry and scripts, as well as sewing, botany and fishkeeping.
Heretta, affectionately known as Homer, began at CCBC in 1980 as Music Director of the Act I Program, accompanist for Cockpit in the Court, and part of the Music Faculty on the Dundalk Campus. She has directed the CCBC Community Chorus, teaches ESOL and English. She has directed more than 100 musicals in Florida, the Virgin Islands, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. She was Music Director for the Maryland Premier of Titanic. Her choirs have performed in England, Washington DC for America Sings, Camden Yards for the Baltimore Orioles, and New York in the Macy's Day Parade. She holds degrees in Music, Library/Technology, Educational Administration, ESOL, and is currently working on her Doctorate in Ethnomusicology and Worship. She is Music Director/Organist at St. Charles Borromeo and St. Paul’s Lutheran. Among her credits are Congressional Commendation for the Arts, published arranger, and Baltimore County Finalist for Teacher of the Year. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren. In her own words, “I love CCBC and am so privileged to continue to be a part of this amazing community of students and staff.”
Jacinda (she/her) is grateful to be stage managing her second show with CCBC. Jacinda has worked on several other shows at CCBC, building sets and working backstage. She would like to thank Damon, Moe, and MaeAnn for guiding her in her theatre adventures!
Daisy (she/her) has appeared as Sophie Sheridan (Mamma Mia) - Beth Tfiloh Community Theater - Leisl von Trapp (The Sound of Music) Phoenix Festival Theater - Serena (Legally Blonde) TheatreWorks Live! - Siobhan (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime) CCBC - Martha (Secret Garden) TheatreWorks Live! This is her first stage management role.
Sharlene is a multi-talented artist, encompassing roles as a writer, singer-actor, dancer, accomplished costume designer, and skilled make-up artist. Her extensive portfolio includes being the driving force behind costume designs for various productions within esteemed institutions like Annapolis Opera Company, Chesapeake Shakespeare Company, Fells Point Corner Theatre, The Strand Theatre, Single Carrot Theatre, Morgan State University's Fine and Performing Arts department, Coppin Repertory Theatre, and, among other prominent local theaters in the vibrant Baltimore Area. Her artistic touch has been instrumental in bringing characters to life in a myriad of productions, such as "A Raisin in the Sun," "The Color Purple," "There was a Boy," "Crowns," "Broke-ology," "Jitney," "Reparations," "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf," "In the Blood," "The Bluest Eye," and "Sojourners," to highlight just a fraction of her impressive body of work. Sharlene's talents aren't confined to costume design alone. She has also graced the stage in notable performances, including the Opera Company of Philadelphia's premieres of "Margaret Garner" and the 2007 production of "Porgy and Bess." Her acting prowess shone in Theatre Morgan's renditions of "The Wiz," "Raisin," where she portrayed Lena Younger, as well as "Black Nativity" and a captivating one-woman show titled "Big Momma." Her artistic journey is further enriched by her membership in the esteemed Carter Legacy Singers, showcasing her dedication to musical expression. Sharlene's contributions to the arts, both on and off the stage, reflect a deep passion and commitment that continue to inspire and resonate within the creative community.
MaeAnn (she/her) holds a BFA in Technical Production from Texas State University and an MFA in Sound Design from UC San Diego. Previously, she was the Director of Technical Theatre at Coronado School of the Arts and the Post MFA Teaching Fellow in Design at Pomona College. Moe (Technical Director/Scenic/Lighting Designer) is in his eleventh year with CCBC where he is the full-time Technical Director and Designer at CCBC Catonsville’s Center for the Arts Theatre. He has an MFA in Scene Design and Technical Theatre. Moe has been doing technical theatre since 1993, as a Designer, Technician, Technical Director, and Educator. He has served as the Technical Director for five summers at Cockpit in Court where he continues to design both lights and sets. He has also designed for Vagabond Players in Fells Point. Moe has received multiple nominations for Best Scene Design from Broadway World.com and received Best Scenic Design from the MD Theatre Guide’s Readers’ Choice Awards. When not backstage, Moe volunteers with “Behind the Scenes” which provides financial support for theatre technicians in need throughout the entertainment industry. He also helps coordinate the Long Reach Long Riders charity motorcycle ride, (www.LRLR.org) to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity fights AIDS and Behind the Scenes, two theatre-based charities
Jen (she/her) is an assistant professor of Theatre, and The Brothers Size is a play she has loved since before it was finished being written. It has been joyful for her to get to share it with her students. For CCBC she has previously directed A Bright New Boise by Samuel D. Hunter and the musical Little Shop of Horrors. She also appeared in CCBC's Spring 2023 production of John Proctor is the Villain. Jen is a Designated Linklater Voice teacher, and in addition to teaching a variety of performance classes at CCBC, she is a professional voice, dialect, text, and acting coach. Recent work includes productions with Mosaic Theater Company, Folger Theatre, Solas Nua, Woolly Mammoth, Arena Stage, Rorschach Theatre Company and Brave Spirits in the DC region. She is also currently affiliated faculty with Shakespeare & Company’s prestigious actor training program, a co-founder of the educational residency program of CoLab Arts in central New Jersey, and she is an emeritus company member of Mile Square Theatre in Hoboken. Jen holds an MFA in Acting from Rutgers University.
Julie is a Professor, Playwright, Director and Coordinator of the CCBC Theatre Program. She received her BA in Writing Arts and Theatre from SUNY Oswego and her MFA in Playwriting from Brooklyn College. Her original plays include Henry’s Holiday (Winner of the Perishable Theatre’s Women’s Playwriting Festival), Obituary Mambo (Abingdon Theatre, NYC), Plastic Haircut, Three Hundred Out of Hades, Quiver and Sink (Mohawk Valley Community College), and Smolder and an adaptation of Upton Sinclair’s The Jungle (CCBC Essex). Her works have been produced in the Samuel French New Play Festival, Manhattan Theatre Source’s Estrogenius Festival, NYC’s Ensemble Theatre’s Opal Series, and Fitchburg State’s Americulture Festival. Locally, her plays have been produced at The Strand, Glass Mind Theatre, Vagabonds, The Kennedy Center (staged reading) and Fells Point Corner Theatre. Julie’s directing credits include Lysistrata, The Skin of Our Teeth, Marco Polo Sings a Solo, Blithe Spirit, The Maids, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Metamorphoses, Kid Simple: A Radio Play in the Flesh, M. Butterfly, Neighborhood 3: Requisition of Doom and Pullman, WA, and most recently Suzan Lori-Parks’ Father Comes Home for the Wars. Julie is most proud of the devised work she has created with her students, including War Stories Staged (Winner of the League of Innovations Award) and The Consumables (performed at the KCACTF Region 2 Fringe and Baltimore’s ArtScape). Her devised production of Hamlet Lost/Found was chosen to perform on the main stage of the 2017 KCACTF Region 2 Festival, as well as her production of Waiting for Godot (set in Baltimore), which garnished two National Kennedy Center Awards in 2018. Julie is a 2012 recipient of a Maryland State Arts Council Grant in Playwriting and English Writing Arts Alumni Award in Playwriting, SUNY Oswego, 2013. She directs annually in the CCBC Academic Theatre Program and teaches Script Analysis, Introduction to Theatre and Writing for the Stage.
