ABOUT THE SHOW

Joan Collins Blocked Me on Twitter is a Fleabag-inspired, one-man, theatrical extravaganza. This one-hour spectacle spotlights Theodore Emory Jones, one of England’s finest thespian exports (in his opinion), who arrives in Hollywood with the sole burning desire of landing a starring role in the Dynasty reboot. Armed with a Burberry steamer trunk filled with enough biscuits to sink the Cutty Shark, a signed 10x8 picture of Patricia Routledge, and a theatrical agent whose celebrity client list includes Driving School's Maureen Rees and Ron Dixon from Bookside, he is determined to spill (the) tea on anyone (and everyone) who stands in his way.  Harrods English Breakfast Tea, thank you very much!

Written and performed by Mr. Billy Walker, Joan Collins Blocked Me on Twitter made its U.S. premiere in Los Angeles in June 2025.  Its European premiere in August 2025 is hosted by the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Cast

Billy Walker (Theodore Emory Jones)

Billy was born in Northern England and raised by a single mother on a council estate in an industrial town called Workington on the West coast of Cumbria. When Covid hit us five years ago, Billy Walker took to the streets—not to protest, but to sing. This working-class hero knew how hard the isolation and restrictions would be on the local people—particularly those in care homes who couldn’t even see their loved ones. Determined to do all he could to raise spirits, Billy took action in song, performing for free more than eighty times in car parks and gardens of homes and hospices all over Cumbria. He even entertained staff in local supermarkets. Over the period of just seven days, he also recorded and released a very special Lockdown album of songs and raised £22,000 for Hospice at Home West Cumbria, a charity close to his heart.

As you might guess, Billy is a born entertainer. He was just a teenager when he first trod the boards at the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain in 1997 and has been wowing audiences all over the world ever since. At seventeen, Billy began working the cabaret circuit all over the UK and internationally in Dubai, Turkey and Spain. He also played The Butler in a UK tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Billy relocated to Los Angeles, California in 2013. He won Best Actor at the 2019 California Independent Film Festival Awards for his portrayal of Max in the film Night Shift. In 2023 he picked up Best Proof of Concept at the Houston Comedy Festival for Linda Evans Is My Spirit Animal, which he not only starred in, but also wrote, produced and directed. Recently, Billy's portrayal of The Boss in Jason Milligan’s Men In Suits earned him Best Featured Performance at the esteemed Stage Raw Theatre Awards in Los Angeles.

These days Billy divides his time between Los Angeles and his native England. He is thrilled and honored to be participating in this year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

EDINBURGH FRINGE FESTIVAL

The Edinburgh Fringe is a three-week performing arts festival that takes place every August in Edinburgh, Scotland.  It is the number one arts festival in the world and Billy is honored to be performing there.  The road to the Fringe, however, is a pricey one.  Fringe production costs run approximately £12,000.  If you have the means to throw any donation toward Billy's Edinburgh fundraiser, he would love you forever!  No amount is too small.  The QR code below will take you to links to Billy's socials and ways to donate.

"As I once said to Andrew Lloyd Webber, if you can drop Argentina a semitone for Madonna, why not Any Dream Will Do for me?"

From the Playwright

When I was a little boy, growing up in an industrial town in Northern England, I was desperate for escape.  Maybe even to escape.  But at nine years old, running away from home didn’t seem like a viable option, so getting lost in all the dramatic moments of iconic TV shows like Dallas and Dynasty became my escape.

We didn’t have any kind of central heating in our house when I was a kid, but we did have a coal fire, and in the garden, we had a coal bunker, which—surprise, surprise—is where we kept the coal.  It had a big wooden lid over it, which was a perfect stage for me.  This is where I would reenact all of the scenes from my favourite films and TV shows.  In the morning, I could be holding a small twig proclaiming, “Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die!”  In the afternoon I might engage in a Krystle-and-Alexis-style cat fight with my cousin Rachael.  I often wonder what that little nine-year-old boy would think if he saw me now performing my own solo show at the world-famous Edinburgh festival.

It is absolutely impossible to thank all of the people who have inspired me and helped me to create this quirky unique stage spectacle…but I’m going to try.  Firstly, to all of the wonderful friends I have—those of you who have endured my constant barrage of voice notes over the last year, trying out comedy material and then asking for your opinion on pop culture references over and over and over and over again—you know who you are, and you know I love you dearly!  To those of you I have come to in times of frustration and desperation, when I was looking for guidance, wisdom, and sometimes just tender words, I love you!  To all of my fellow artists - keep creating, now more than ever!

And I would like to thank my lovely mother, because she always, always encouraged that nine-year-old little boy to dream big!

Incredibly hysterical, Billy is always intense, whether he’s passionately making out with his scene partner or improvising on his feet with audience members! I swear I thought Arlene was a plant. The chemistry he is able to achieve with a total stranger onstage & force them to be his scene partner was one of the funniest things I’ve seen in years. He is always fully committed to the character & embodies each one with the enthusiasm of a true artist. (And it doesn’t hurt that his ego is bigger than the sun. ;-) Bravo, Billy!

I thoroughly enjoyed the show from beginning to end. Billy is brilliant. He is a genius. His comedic, timing and genuine demeanor made the show the highlight one of the highlights of my theater goings this year. He pulled me up on stage to be Rudolph, the red nose reindeer, and it was so much fun. The audience thoroughly enjoyed it as well. I wish I could go to Edinburgh and support him at the festival. I’m gonna try to figure it out, Billy you’re amazing. You’re brilliant and I wish you all the best success.

Billy Walker’s one-man show Joan Collins Blocked Me on Twitter was absolutely hilarious. With razor-sharp wit and flawless comedic timing, Billy delivered a wildly entertaining mix of pop culture commentary, personal mishaps, and sharp one-liners. The title alone promises drama, but what followed was a laugh-out-loud journey through celebrity obsession, online chaos, and the petty heartbreak of being blocked by a legend. Smart, self-aware, and sneakily heartfelt—Billy Walker is a comedic force to watch.

This show is a riot. Filled with nonstop laughs and quick wit, Billy Walker is his own variety show. He is so fluid and grounded, working off the audience as if they are part of the show too! I had so much fun and everyone should come see this performance. Bravo, Billy!

Brilliant! A wonderful satire on the world of British theatre, wonderfully portrayed by Billy Walker. He’s written a one man performance that certainly deserves a tv adaptation. He’s a natural, both as a performer as well as his interactions with the audience. Well done mate!
Jon Larkin
I didn’t realize he wasn’t American. I could barely understand a word. But seriously he’s endlessly charming and funny. Excellent chemistry with the audience. Bravo.

Joan Collins Blocked me on Twitter is As funny as its title. I don’t remember the last time I laughed so hard and so much at a show. It’s meticulously produced. Every detail is thought out. And the script is hilarious - quick, unexpected and heartwarming. It’s billed as a solo show, but I would scarcely call it that, as the entire audience was his scene partner. He tricked us, cajoled us, chastised us, coached us - he didn’t just act the show- he hosted it. And, Honey, it was a hell of a party. I can’t wait to get a chance to see it again.

There was not one moment I was not entertained. Not one moment I was thinking about something else and in this day and age of the attention span, that is a rare thing indeed.

There's something about this kind of actor and character work that cannot be described, it cannot be taught, it cannot be copied. When you are so pulled in, so accepting of everything and anything that happens, and loving it, there is no better feeling as an audience member, and Billy Walker achieves this within the first two minutes of his show. What a gift!
Alexis Smith
Absolutely fantastic. Billy is so engaging, hilarious, and truly takes the audience on a ride. It’s so current and so fun. I enjoyed every second of it and urge everyone to see it.
Holly Rockwell
Mr. Billy Walker is absolutely brilliant and able to seamlessly play off the audience whilst sticking to his script. The show is incredibly smart, fun and entertaining, appealing to a wide audience. My children (17 and 13) enjoyed it as well as understanding most of the humor, regardless of the references that are well before their time. Can’t wait to bring my girlfriends when the show returns to Los Angeles.

'Joan Collins Blocked Me on Twitter' is phenomenal theater! Billy draws you into his world, and it's absolutely hysterical. His comedic timing and real-time audience engagement are incredibly impressive. A one-man show is no simple feat, and Billy delivers his work brilliantly with his spot-on character work, writing, and commitment. He is definitely someone to keep a close eye on! One of the most entertaining experiences I've had in the past couple of years!!!

This show was escapist, fun, absurd, hilarious, ridiculous, & heart-warming…all while being a comedic tour de force and huge display of the vast talents of its star, Billy Walker! Once he broke the fourth wall and I realized that we, the audience, were more like invited guests to his party, I was fully engaged for the ride. He’s such an endearing performer that I couldn’t stop smiling and enjoying him. And I was honored to be invited! What a delightful way to spend time with a friend.

Billy is a natural comedian, and had everyone wrapped around his finger every single second. I was on the edge of my seat to see what he was going to do next! What really stood out to me, though, was his genuine, soft, touching moments. His boldness and comedic timing made those emotional moments even more special. Cheers, Billy! Xoxo
