A group of thespians stumble upon an ominous book filled with grisly and gory tales.
Will the thespians be bound to act as the book's puppets, destined for a life of performing but never truly free?

Twisted Tales is a "visually stunning" Platform Theatre piece created by Box House Theatre Company.

TWISTED TALES THE TRAILER - YouTube

A cast of six regal actors are confined to the space of a gym mat whilst showcasing four folk tales which all end with a twist. Platform Theatre relies solely on the actor's arsenal to create props, set, costume and sound to build the very world in which they tell their story. This piece explores the stories we all know and love, from Red Riding Hood's gruesome tale, to the Saga of the almighty Vikings, all in a way that you have never seen before!

Box House Theatre flips performance conformity on its head and introduces new and innovative ways of performing "boundary pushing theatre".

Box House Theatre stands to prove that impressive theatre does not need a budget or excessive performance space to succeed within a professional setting. By using nothing but body and voice, you can experience unparalleled levels of storytelling. Platform theatre combines physical theatre, mime, music, and everything in-between to create the most unique theatre in the world!

With over fifty roles to split between them all, the cast of Twisted Tales includes: Lewis Evans (Ted Lasso) as the horrifying Wolf in the woods, Amy Fielding as the all-conquering King Alfred of Wessex, Eve Ibbott as Alice in the land of wonders, Sohail Al Mahri with his ever-flexing muscles as the Huntsman, Cameron Robertson as the grumbling Daddy Bear and Lee Taylor as the wide eyed, smart mouthed Cheshire Cat. Including many more notable characters, Twisted Tales is sure to reveal the dark and twisted side to your childhood favourites.

Meet the Cast

Amy Fields (Goldilocks, Red Riding Hood and King Alfred)
Myself and Lewis started Box House Theatre over two years ago and have had the most amazing journey. Being able to create, rehearse and perform our piece Twisted Tales has been an incredible process all thanks to these very talented people. With copious amounts of blood (sometimes) and sweat (all the time) we have created a fantastically unique show which is certain to have you entertained.

Lewis Evans (Mummy Bear, The Wolf and Ivar the Boneless)
Being a part of Twisted Tales throughout it's 10 year development has given this overwhelming sense of achievement and reward that I feel can never be matched in my lifetime. From it's humble beginnings of being rehearsed in a living room, to (finally!) having a tour! There are not enough words to describe how lucky Box House are to have such an incredibly talented, inspired, and utterly brilliant cast that have brought this 10 year dream from its pages to the stages! And as a wise man once said to me - " The people who say it cannot be done, are interrupted by the person that says 'I Just Did It'"

Eve Ibbott (Alice, Aslaug and Ubba)
Being a part of Box House Theatre and creating Twisted Tales has been such a joy. Before Box House, I’d never been part of a project like it. It is a physically demanding piece which took a bit of adjusting to but it is so creative and inspired. Each rehearsal is a chance for anyone to contribute new ideas and see how we can develop the show more. With such an amazing group of people, there is never a dull moment in our rehearsals or performances.

Cam Robertson (Granny, The Mad Hatter and Ragnar Lothbrok)
Cameron Robertson is a South African born actor who received a BA honours in Theatre and Performance from the University of Cape Town. Since moving to the UK he toured with White Horse Theatre in Germany before being offered the exciting opportunity of joining Box House. Although he joined after Twisted Tales had already graced a number of audiences with its unique style of story telling, Cameron has settled into his roles playing Ragnar Lothbrok and The Mad Hatter. Cameron is enjoying his time with Box House and looks forward to a successful future for Twisted Tales.
Lee David Taylor (The Cheshire Cat and King Alle of Northumbria )
Working with Box House Theatre is an absolute pleasure! I have made great friends, worked in a variety of different venues, all with their own challenges, and have been able to fit the work around a full time job and other shows in my area of Southampton. We are a must see group of people! Always having fun, smiling, and committing to the performances with every inch of our beings. As mentioned previously, it’s an honour to be involved in such a talented group of people

Sohail Al-Mahri (The Huntsman, White Rabbit and Bjorn Ironside)
Although Sohail is taking a break from acting to focus on his career in Dramatherapy, he was more than happy to continue performing with Box House alongside his work. Sohail has been avidly interested in acting since high school which made him want to do acting and theatre arts at university. From this he worked in Germany performing Shakespeare and also travelled the world as an entertainer on a cruise ship! When he is not doing these things you can find him in his room strumming a guitar, reading books or playing on his beloved PS5. (He also HATES sprouts)

Our school recently had the pleasure of hosting Box House Theatre's production of "Twisted Tails," and it was nothing short of extraordinary. This unique theatre company has managed to create a mesmerizsng experience that left both students and staff in awe. One of the standout features of "Twisted Tails" was the ingenious use of minimalism to craft captivating scenes. The creativity and resourcefulness displayed by Box House Theatre were truly remarkable. With just a handful of actors and a bare stage, they managed to transport us to different worlds and immerse us in the stories they were telling. The minimalistic approach allowed the audience's imagination to run wild, making each scene all the more engaging. After the show, Box House Theatre conducted a workshop for our students, and it was an absolute hit. Their passion for drama and storytelling was infectious, and the students couldn't help but be drawn in. The workshop not only provided valuable insights into the world of theatre but also inspired a significant increase in the uptake of GCSE drama in our school. We eagerly look forward to their next visit, as we believe Box House Theatre has something truly special to offer to the world of theatre and education.

I was totally blown away by the refinement of the actor’s physical skills, the ingenuity of the storyline and the clear chemistry of the cast. I am SO glad I got to experience Box House Theatre. I am absolutely determined to get them in front of my Drama A level and GCSE exam classes - they would benefit so much from seeing such original choreography and slick physical theatre skills. They are also incredibly humble and lovely humans who are able to speak about their experiences with the industry with honesty and passion - another invaluable experience for students. Couldn’t recommend more!
