Welcome Back to the ATDW Studio Theater

Jerome and I want to welcome you back into our Studio Theater for the first live performances we have had since our Nutcracker Suite in December of 2019!

We are excited to be a part of this global celebration of theaters called All Together Now, and to celebrate the return of Broadway and Theater all over the world! What a year and a half it has been!

Thank you Moms, Dads, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and friends for bringing your young performers to ATDW, to share in this love for theater. We have enjoyed rehearsing and preparing for today, and look forward to all we will do together the rest of the year!

We thank you for wearing your mask throughout the performance today.

Sit back and enjoy as others around the world are gathering this weekend as well, at their local stages, celebrating the love of music and the love of Live Theater!"

Artistically Yours, Michelle & Jerome Vivona

MTI's Free Musical, ALL TOGETHER NOW, Is Now Available for Licensing

Theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI) has just announced that theatres around the world can now license All Together Now! - A Global Event Celebrating Local Theatre. This worldwide event celebrates the return of live theatre and allows organizations to locally produce and perform an exclusive musical revue featuring songs from MTI's beloved shows over the weekend of November 12-15, 2021.

MTI's All Together Now! is entirely free-of-charge to license with no royalty or rental fees. Participating organizations may license MTI's All Together Now! as a fundraiser for their theatre and perform it live, live-streamed, or a combination of both over a four-day period from November 12 - 15, 2021.

Licensees will also receive a number of MTI's innovative theatrical resources to help with rehearsals, marketing and performances - all completely free.

"The excitement for All Together Now! among our customers is growing by the day," said Drew Cohen President and CEO of MTI Worldwide. "Our theatre industry colleagues have also been incredibly supportive and we are thrilled to have a growing roster of Partners (listed below) contributing from so many disciplines within the professional theatre community. This is truly a collaborative effort, and we are all extremely excited that any and every type of theatre from schools to the pros has the opportunity to produce MTI's All Together Now! in their communities."

MTI's Chief Operating Officer and Director of Education & Development, John Prignano remarked that, "We've streamlined our licensing process for this special event and there are no restrictions or limits on how many theatres in a particular geographical area can license the revue. Instead, we hope that as many theatres as possible produce the revue on their own, or come together with other organizations in their communities to mount a joint production. We also wanted to give theatres as much creative input as possible. The revue can be presented as a concert-like performance or groups can fully stage, choreograph and costume each song as it is presented in the full version of the show. Theatres are encouraged to feature as diverse a cast as possible, in order to reflect the composition of the entire community. All Together Now! is about bringing people back to the theatre, whether as audience members or cast, crew and musicians. Productions will benefit from a variety of races, genders, abilities, body types, and sizes, so we encourage groups to spread diversity as best they can across all the roles in the production."

The 6th Season Of New York Theatre Barn's Choreography Lab Launches April 22nd

The 6th season of New York Theatre Barn's Choreography Lab launches on Monday, April 22nd, 2019 at 7pm at Pearl Studios. Funded in part by a generous gift from the Amber Foundation, The Choreography Lab was created to elevate and expand the use of dance in musical theatre. It is also the only curated choreography platform where choreographers and writers collaborate to develop movement for new musicals during incubation.

In the April 22nd installment, four choreographers will present their own narrative based dance pieces, each with a specific personal choreographic development goal. There will be a guest moderator for this lab who, along with an in house lab moderator, will critique the pieces based on the specific objectives the choreographers develop for themselves. The featured choreographers are John Alix, Matthew Borchers, Rachel Goldman, and Jerome Vivona. A guest moderator will be announced soon.

Curated by Avital Asuleen, The Choreography Lab's programming supports choreographer development, fosters collaboration between writers and choreographers earlier in the creative process, and serves as an educational forum where all parties can strengthen and specify how dance can be used to convey story and character. The Choreography Lab is the only curated choreography platform where choreographers and writers collaborate to develop movement for new musicals during incubation. Lab consultants are Adolpho Blaire and Christopher Noffke.

Pearl Studios is located at 500 8th Avenue in New York City, and the lab will be in studio 412. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door, and can be purchased on New York Theatre Barn's website: www.nytheatrebarn.org. Seating is limited.

Now in its 12th season, New York Theatre Barn is a Manhattan-based non-profit theatre company dedicated to incubating original musicals that challenge audiences through provocative stories and innovative storytelling in front of a live audience. Theatre Barn's core programs include the New Works Series - exclusive pre-premieres of new musicals during incubation, the Choreography Lab - the only platform where choreographers and writers collaborate on movement for new musicals during incubation, and unique residency opportunities which recently resulted in a developmental production of the musical Sam's Room, and a reading of the musical Eastbound which is performed in English and Mandarin. About American Theater Dance Workshop

The American Theater Dance Workshop is led by two of Long Island's most decorated and experienced Broadway Professionals - Michelle and Jerome Vivona. Together they've spent the better part of their adult lives working with and learning from the greatest artists of our generation. The lessons they've learned come from years of hard work, training, and learning the work ethic needed to succeed at the highest level of American Theater by performing with many of the world's leading talents - up close and personal - sharing the stage and screen with legendary performers, directors and choreographers. Because of their deep connections with the Broadway community they are able to bring their colleagues and current Broadway VIP's to the studio to work with their students and guide them on what is happening onstage from the Golden Age of Broadway to today. There isn't another studio on Long Island that has access to the depth of knowledge and experience the Vivona's bring to Mineola on a regular basis: Broadway Master Classes that have students learning from Broadway Directors and Choreographers, Broadway Dance Captains and Broadway cast members teaching actual Broadway choreography-up close and personal and sharing their thoughts, expertise and feedback with our dancers in an intimate setting. The level of growth that's possible for an artist when receiving that kind of first hand guidance cannot be underestimated. You really cannot fully understand or appreciate the energy of the studio without visiting and meeting our staff of incredible professionals. We want to be your studio - come see why the training and friendships you make at ATDW will last a lifetime, and why our students say "Friends Gather Here".
