Welcome to a McCracken musical unlike any other! All Together Now is a revue show released by Music Theater International as a way to help theaters get back into producing a show. This one-time-only production is being performed this weekend by over 5500 theaters in all 50 states and at least 40 countries. It is estimated that over a million people will participate in this show on stage or in the audience this weekend. What a beautiful moment for us all to be a part of this glorious return to the stage. 

Instead of a traditional musical, this show features favorite songs from a variety of musicals. Don’t try to watch for a plot that connects all the songs together-- there isn’t one. However, I encourage you to experience the many different stories along with the characters within each song.

Planning a musical is always a challenge, but planning a musical during a pandemic has been an entirely new adventure. For me as a director, this year’s musical has been a lesson in flexibility, patience, and attempting to maintain grace under pressure. At times I was daunted by the struggles of trying to plan in a world that we now know can change drastically at any moment. 

But it’s also been a lesson in resilience, grit, and integrity, as I’ve watched these incredible students rise to the occasion every day for the past two and a half months. These students tackled every adversity without complaint. They sang, danced, and acted for hours on end while wearing masks. They took initiative to practice on their own to master complicated dance moves and harmonies. They moved furniture in our rehearsal space each day and even swept the floor! I have been consistently in awe of how they face every challenge and persevere, all for the love of theater. 

In addition to our phenomenal student cast and crew, this production could not have been possible without the tremendous efforts of Stephanie Anderson, Bethany Fagan, Carol Keipert, Rich Neumann, and so many others. We are so fortunate to have an amazing team here at McCracken.
