Valascho, 12th - color guard

5 years, guard •  I’ll miss: the community. It’s a challenging activity, but we struggle together and come out stronger. I’ve made friends I would never have had the chance to even talk to were it not for band. Favorite memory: the show where it stormed so bad we were called off the field. There was so much wind we could barely toss, but we kept going. It showed how much we wanted to perform and how dedicated we were. Favorite show: Sounds of Silence Band taught me: sometimes one has to put themselves out there to improve. Advice: Never quit just because you don’t want to put the effort in. When you’re experiencing a difficult moment, you have to push through; you’ll appreciate the stronger person you became. However, always know when to set boundaries!
