DIRECTOR'S NOTE
BRING IT ON The Musical is a story about coming together when the odds are stacked against you. And who better to celebrate this theme than Eliot Arts kids. It's been a year since many of these performers lost their homes, their town and - for all of us - our beloved school. This show also marks one year since Eliot and Altadena Arts proudly presented our spring musical, SHREK, JR. on the iconic Ahmanson stage. We wanted to follow SHREK with a show that expressed the dreams, the passion, the hard work and the unity we are familiar with as young theater artists. Especially those who have come together after so much tumult.
To our 6th graders: welcome to our very special school. We have been blown away by your creativity and enthusiasm this year. We hope Eliot Arts Drama & Dance provides a second home to you all as you explore the messy, wondrous journey that is middle school.
To our 7th graders: it continues to be a delight to get to work with you in the classroom and rehearsal room every day. You are intellectually curious, out-of-the-box thinkers, artistic, kind and endlessly funny.
To our very special 8th graders: this show marks our last and final Eliot production together. You are also - and will forever be - my first cohort of Eliot Arts students. You will always have a special place in my heart. I hope being in plays and musicals, drama and dance classes for the past three years has provided you the tools you need to take on high school and the world beyond with grit, passion, curiosity, kindness, resilience, and always, humor. I have been changed for the better...by each of you. I will miss you dearly. You will always have a place at Eliot.
Love,
Ms. Lief

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
Special thanks to Principal McKenzie and the Eliot administration, faculty, and staff for your endless support. Big shout out to the inexhaustible Dr. Peters, Ms. Manasarian, and Ms. Luna. To our beloved Ms. Raices for continuing to be our resident photographer.
Thank you, PEF, Karen Anderson and team PUSD.
To Principal Barba and the Pasadena High School faculty and staff: thank you for giving us a home for our spring musical. We are forever grateful. To Mr. O'Connor and his remarkable tech students: thank you, thank you, thank you. You epitomize "community." Thank you for sharing your space, your equipment, your time and your heart.
To the generous, hard-working, loving, and always snack-providing Eliot Arts musical families: we have never and will never be able to put on a show without you. Thank you for lending us your kids every day, for feeding them, for helping them run lines and review song lyrics at home, for letting them play the Bring It On soundtrack in the car for the past three months.
Thank you to our wonderful audiences for supporting theatre in public schools!
