A Note from Mrs. Sweet
A production of this magnitude would never be possible without a strong team of individuals working together to make it happen.
As the director of the MAU Patriot Players Drama Club, I am so fortunate to have an incredible team of talented people that bring an enormous amount of experience and expertise to every rehearsal and performance. These students have had the opportunity to work daily with theater professionals and as a result, they have learned and grown in skills and in self-confidence tremendously over the past 7 weeks. That's right, I said 7 weeks... we typically take at least 9-10 weeks to mount a full musical like this one. And we usually do it in the fall when life is a little slower than it is in May! The show you are about to see is the product of daily rehearsals from an incredibly dedicated cast of young adults, weekends of set construction & painting and hours and hours of individual work outside of rehearsals. All of that on top of going to school every day, other after school commitments, homework, AP Classes and exams, jobs, family commitments and more. They really are remarkable.
After 2 very difficult years, especially in music and the performing arts, these kids have shown incredible resilience.
I could not be more proud of them!
Love,
Mrs. Sweet
A special note of thanks to Tracy Raetz, Erika Hadcock and the rest of the Raetz-Hadcock family for the amazing hand sewn Super Trouper costumes as well as Sky and Sophie’s finale costumes. THANK YOU!!! We are so lucky to have you!!!
