Meet the Company

TJ Washburn

Dick Sweat, Writer, Co-Director
TJ Washburn - Dick Sweat, Writer, Co-Director TJ Washburn first conceived of this vanity project when he was supposed to working on something nobler, and he immediately ceased working on anything else. At last year’s Fringe, he appeared in “The Spider Queen” as Bono. Other Orlando credits include “Oklahoma!” (Curly), and “Ben Hur” (Daniel Veil, Judah Ben Hur). He does yuk-yuks at Universal Orlando Resort and also plays music out in the world sometimes. This Fall, he will become a father for the first time, so please oh God please spend money on his vanity projects.

Anna LeFlore

Capt. Harriet Jones
Anna LeFlore - Capt. Harriet Jones Anna LeFlore is beyond psyched to be making her Orlando Fringe debut and share “Dick Sweat” with the world. Originally from California, Anna pursued her passion for the performing arts across the country. She earned her BFA in Drama Performance from the University of Oklahoma and is thankful to have worked in entertainment in the Orlando area ever since. She is currently an actor and trainer at Universal Orlando Resort and manages/directs event entertainment. In her spare time, Anna enjoys tooting her trombone in a community orchestra and spoiling her rescue dog, Stella.

Tyler Larson

Guy Beauchene
Tyler Larson - Guy Beauchene Tyler Larson is making his Orlando Fringe debut. Tyler is most commonly seen performing at Universal Orlando Resort. Having not been in a stage performance since 2016, he is incredibly excited and honored to be a part of this show alongside his friends.

Taylor Harrell

Dallas Van Buren
Taylor Harrell - Dallas Van Buren Taylor Harrell is the second-coolest person you've ever met. A native for all intents and purposes of Orlando, he has spent years working alternately or simultaneously as a director, actor, musician, music educator, fight captain, scenic fabricator, and (perhaps most challengingly) TJ Washburn's artistic security blanket. Last Orlando Fringe, he originated the role of Barrett in the hit show "Star Shanties." Taylor is an Assistant Show Director at Universal Orlando Resort and is married to Jenny Harrell, who is the first-coolest person you've ever met.

Stephen Lima

Alonzo Snow
Stephen Lima - Alonzo Snow Originally from Toronto, Canada, Stephen is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC and was a member of their prestigious showcase Company. Recent theater credits: Paul Sheldon in Misery (Osceola Arts); Don John in Much Ado About Nothing, Lysimachus in Pericles, Sebastian in The Tempest, Grempkin / Fighting Prawn in Peter and the Starcatcher, Bedford / Bates in Henry V (Orlando Shakespeare Theatre); O’Brien in 1984, Felix in The Odd Couple and Ernesto in Destiny of Desire (Garden Theatre).

Leyla Lawrence

Angie Becker
Leyla Lawrence - Angie Becker Leyla is tepidly optimistic about her return to the Orlando Fringe mayhem. She had a baby and kind of fell off the face of the Earth, consumed by motherhood, but if you root around you can find her “Checking In” to Universal Orlando hotels, schooling “A Christmas Karen” on the true meaning of the season, as a bitchy girl on “Army Wives”, pretending not to know how to cook for Publix, and killing people for the yuk yuks on the Sleuths stage. Like most semi-retired theme park performers, she now mostly sits in a dark room and talks for a living.

Brandon Roberts

Co-Director
Brandon Roberts - Co-Director Brandon Roberts is a performer, producer, and director that most Fringe audiences either know from the physical storytelling antics of Gromalot Theatre Factory (Smooch, Snack, Sport) or as the little weird guy who chases people off stage at the Fringe Preview show. In addition to directing shows for Gromalot, Brandon has directed projects for Orlando Shakes and Odd-o-Ts’ Entertainment in recent years. He also was selected as Critic’s Pick Best Director for Excellent Adventure Productions’ Cupid and Psyche at 2021’s Orlando Fringe. Just after Fringe, Brandon will be directing Young Dr. Jekyll for Winter Park Playhouse’s Festival of New Musicals. Happy Fringing to all!

Bayley Steinwehr

Stage Manager, Lighting Design
Bayley Steinwehr - Stage Manager, Lighting Design Bayley is excited to be working on his first ever Orlando Fringe show. A graduate of the theatre program at UCF, he has done multiple tech and stage management positions around Orlando, mostly with his church St. Luke's United Methodist. Some of his favorite credits include Rudolph Jr., Children of Eden, and Steel Magnolias. He currently works for Encore Global as a production coordinator, but continues to work around Orlando at various shows.

Jamie Washburn

Production Manager
Jamie Washburn - Production Manager The quilt of Jamie Washburn’s life is as motley as they come. As a young woman, she used a filmmaking scholarship to study instead psychology and English, before disappearing up the east coast of America to open restaurants for New Yorkers. To this day, she counts among her dearest friends some of the most ardent Italians of Staten and Long Island you could ever wish to meet. She disappeared once more to Orlando, where she has lived since, working in that time as a performer, a costumer, and a manager of theme park entertainment venues and costume fabrication warehouses and Halloween Horror Nights. Currently, she is a stage manager with Entertainment Events at Universal Orlando Resort and is stage-managing Your Mom’s In My Top 8 at The Abbey this Fringe. This fall, she will give birth to a child whose name (as she has made very clear to TJ Washburn) we are not telling anyone. He would like to add, though: it’s a good one.

Cameron Johnson

Costume Design
Cameron Johnson - Costume Design Cameron Johnson is super excited to design their first live show. They have been a freelance dresser for editorial photoshoots over a decade. Cameron spends their days as a full-time Costume Specialist at Universal Orlando Resort, where they've worked on innumerable projects and special events across the years. Cameron comes from a strong lineage of seamstresses, their knowledge having been passed down from their grandmother to their mother and now, to them.

Haley Sigman

Costume Design
Haley Sigman - Costume Design Haley Sigman is feeling optimistic as she makes her first foray into the Fringe world! Much like a Bratz® doll, Haley has had a passion for fashion for as long as she can remember. She received her first sewing machine at ten years old and quickly fell in love with the freedom and the breadth of creative expression that clothes have to offer. Haley has worked full-time as a Costume Specialist for Orlando theme parks for almost four years and is the only sanctioned keeper of the Vast Lore of Nana Candy.

Anthony R. Smith

Sound Design
Anthony R. Smith - Sound Design Anthony R. Smith is a sound designer, composer, actor, and musician based out of Orlando. Anthony has a BA in Theatre from Florida State University where he sound-designed several shows including Amadeus and Murder at the Prom as well as new plays like Quentin G. by Joshua Mikel, for which he also composed music. Anthony works full-time at Universal Orlando Resort as an audio technician and special assignment sound designer/composer, where he regularly works on Halloween Horror Nights, Mardi Gras, special events, etc. Local theatre credits include sound designer for The SpongeBob Musical at The Orlando Rep, sound designer for Cinderella at CFCArts and sound designer/composer for Quills. Orlando Fringe Festival credits include sound designer/composer for Hello by John Mark Crawford which toured all around the state and up to Edmonton, Canada; composer for Goodbye also by John Mark Crawford which had an Off Broadway run at the Soho Playhouse; and composer, lyricist, and sound designer for Ferris Bueller's Day Off: The Unofficial Musical based off the John Hughes film, book by Katie Ford and Robert Johnston.  He is currently performing in Your Mom’s In My Top 8 at The Abbey as part of Fringe’s BYOV.

James E. Beattie III

Poster Artist
James E. Beattie III - Poster Artist James E. Beattie III first started drawing when he was 5 and has since drawn a lot. If you ask him (and also pay him), he might draw something for you (time-permitting and depending on what it is). He has written a book and a script for a film and is now writing another book (when he has time to be writing). He is already a father (to many children) and so paying him for any service is good for him (because of the fathering so many children).

A Note from TJ

Firstly, thank you for being here.

This show began with me giggling to myself about a P.I. named Dick Sweat (I am fundamentally a thirteen-year-old) and has grown into a lesson in humility and community so big I struggle to talk about it, not to get all lofty about my dick-joke play or anything.

That Dick Sweat: Private Investigator might be good at all is only because of the other people involved. Even before the process really began, Jamie started making sure I didn’t bungle it. Taylor was reading drafts of scenes as far back as last summer and offering his thoughts, coming up with jokes, riffing bits and whatnot. Cammy and Bayley volunteered their help without my even having to ask, which is good, because I wanted their help but felt presumptuous asking. Haley pretty much immediately jumped onboard, as did Tyler and Anna (She wasn’t even in the cast yet and offered her home for rehearsals! The kindness!). Leyla came out of Fringe retirement for this. I messaged the great Stephen Lima out of nowhere to ask him to be involved, and he was down to clown right away. Brandon Roberts, who has one of the busiest schedules I’ve ever been aware of (because everyone wants his time, because he’s a genius), agreed to fit my dick-joke play into his life somehow. We didn’t even really know each other, and he still did. THE Brandon Roberts! I couldn’t believe it.

This will get way more long-winded if I don’t wrap things up. Anthony R. Smith has saved my ass so many times and did so once again with his exquisite sound designs. Jarrett Poore was my conduit to the puppet game, which is the only reason I could ever hope to write a show about a late puppeteer. Bryan Jager shepherded me so gently through the anxiety and confusion that has defined my last few months as a first-time producer.

I also need to thank Anna Stefanic for her help always; Tempestt Halstead for her patience with my ceaseless questions; Kelsey Morales and Adam Biner; Bee Pruitt; PB&J Studios; James Beattie and Tucker Washburn; Devan Seaman; the Moons; James Honey, Dan Drnach, and the rest of the Cross Country crew; and Hope Staley and Ali Gordillo (and truthfully all my friends) for suffering my whatever-you-call-it through this process.

And thank YOU, dear reader, for being here! I am truly grateful for this community of ours. May our silly little dick-joke diversion…rise to the occasion. Happy Fringe to all!
