Director's Notes

Welcome to our 2024 performance of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, presented by the Northmor Music Boosters! Our 7-12 cast and crew have been working hard the last 3 months to bring this production to you! For many of these students, it is their first time in a theatrical production. I am no stranger to the theatre, having taken on many roles on and off stage in the past 17 years. However, this production is only my second time in the Director's Chair... and the Choreographer's Chair! Your students have been very patient with me as as we have tackled this huge production. There were many times throughout the rehearsal process where I came in with created choreography or blocking and the students would give suggestions and input as we learned and produced a show together. This process has been a true collaboration with your students and I am so proud of all of them. It amazes me how I come to rehearsal with an idea and they somehow make the thing in my brain come alive on stage. The last few weeks has been a pleasure to teach and supervise many of the crews behind the scenes as well. It has been an honor to work with so many young and talented individuals. Please refrain from any flash photography or recording of any kind. I hope you enjoy our version of a tale as old as time!

- Mr. Shaffer
