Where the Broadway Shows of Fall 2025 Got Their Start
The fall 2025 Broadway season has officially begun, with many new productions set to arrive before the end of the year. For nine of those shows (Art, Waiting for Godot, Punch, Rob Lake Magic, Chess, and Marjorie Prime), Broadway is the first stop, but the other eight have have already enjoyed runs all over the world. Check out where this fall's shows were developed below!

Mamma Mia!
Mamma Mia! arrives back on Broadway direct from its 25th Anniversary North American tour, which has made stops at dozens of cities since it first launched in October 2023.
Mamma Mia! is now running at the Winter Garden Theatre.

Beetlejuice
Beetlejuice is back on Broadway for the third time, also arriving directly from its First National tour. Broadway will mark the final stop on the 88-city tour.
Beetlejuice will open at the Palace Theatre on October 8, 2025.

Ragtime
In her inaugural season as Lincoln Center Theater's Artistic Director, Lear deBessonet is opening with a new production of her acclaimed New York City Center Gala revival, which ran in November 2024.
Ragtime will open at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre on October 16, 2025.

Liberation
Before Broadway, Liberation enjoyed an acclaimed run earlier this year at Roundabout Theatre Company, where it won the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding New Off-Broadway Play, and received Drama Desk and New York Drama Critics’ Circle honors for Best Ensemble Performance. The full off-Broadway cast will apear in the Broadway production.
Liberation will open at the James Earl Jones Theatre on October 28, 2025.

Little Bear Ridge Road
Laurie Metcalf and Micah Stock are reprising their performances from the show’s world premiere in 2024 at The Steppenwolf Theatre Company, who commissioned the play.
Little Bear Ridge Road will open at the Booth Theatre on October 30, 2025.

The Queen of Versailles
Prior to arriving on Broadway, the Kristin Chenoweth-led musical had a box office record-breaking world premiere at Boston’s Emerson Colonial Theatre in the summer of 2024.
The Queen of Versailles will open at the St. James Theatre on November 9, 2025.

Oedipus
Robert Icke's Oedipus was originally produced in Dutch by Internationaal Theater Amsterdam and was presented at the Edinburgh International Festival. It ran in the West End in 2024 and received two Olivier Awards, including Best Revival of a Play.
Oedipus will open at Studio 54 on November 13, 2025.

Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)
Two Strangers first charmed audiences in London with a sold-out production at the Kiln in 2023. It transferred to the West End’s Criterion Theatre for an extended engagement in 2024. The North American Premiere played at the A.R.T. earlier this summer.
Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) will open at the Longacre Theatre on November 20, 2025.

Bug
Led by Carrie Coon, Bug comes to Broadway following an acclaimed run at Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theatre in 2021.
Bug will open at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on January 8, 2025.

STOMP, celebrating 30 years, is explosive, inventive, provocative, witty, and utterly unique—an unforgettable experience for audiences of all ages. The eight-member troupe uses everything but conventional percussion instruments – matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters, hubcaps – to fill the stage with magnificent rhythms. SPAMALOT | May 5-17, 2026
The show that set Broadway back 1,000 years...returns! touring across America the Tony Award-winning Best Musical comedy MONTY PYTHON’S SPAMALOT. Daniel Radcliffe
Tony Award winner Daniel Radcliffe is coming back to Broadway in Every Brilliant Thing, written by Olivier Award nominee Duncan MacMillan with Jonny Donahoe and directed by Olivier & Tony Award nominee Jeremy Herrin & Duncan MacMillan.
Every Brilliant Thing is an exhilarating and heartwarming play, in which a man looks back at his life and the glimmers of hope that carried him through. All told through a list of every wonderful, beautiful, and delightful thing—big, small, and everything in between—that makes life worth living. This one-of-a-kind solo show, which has been performed across the globe in over 80 countries on stages of all sizes—and for an HBO Special starring co-creator Jonny Donahoe—makes its long-awaited Broadway premiere following a hit season @sohoplace in London’s West End.
Every Brilliant Thing will open on Thursday, March 12. The limited thirteen-week engagement plays through May 24, 2026 at the Hudson Theatre.

Three-time Tony Award winner Nathan Lane, two-time Tony Award winner Laurie Metcalf, Christopher Abbott, Ben Ahlers, Jonathan Cake, K. Todd Freeman, and John Drea will be starring in Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman on Broadway!

Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman will begin performances at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre on on Friday, March 6, and will run through Sunday, August 9.

Emmy Award winner Jon Bernthal and two-time Emmy Award winner Ebon Moss-Bachrach will be starring in Stephen Adly Guirgis's Dog Day Afternoon on Broadway!

John Lithgow
Two-time Tony Award and Olivier Award winner John Lithgow is coming to Broadway in Mark Rosenblatt's play Giant, directed by two-time Tony Award winner Nicholas Hytner. The cast also features two-time Olivier Award winner Elliot Levey, two-time Olivier Award nominee Rachael Stirling, Stella Everett, David Manis, and understudies Geoffrey Cantor, Annie Hӓgg, Eleanor Handleyand Paul O'Brien!

Giant will begin Broadway performances on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at the Music Box Theatre for a strictly limited 16-week engagement.

Madeline Brewer and Patrick Ball
Emmy Award-nominee Madeline Brewer, The Pitt's Patrick Ball, and more will be starring in Second Stage Theater's production of Becky Shaw, directed by Trip Cullman. The cast will also feature Tony Award-winner Lauren Patten, Alden Ehrenreich, and Linda Emond!
A blind date spirals spectacularly off the rails in Becky Shaw, the razor-sharp dark comedy from two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist Gina Gionfriddo.
Becky Shaw will begin performances March 18th at Second Stage’s Hayes Theater.

Adrien Brody and Tessa Thompson
Two-time Academy Award winner Adrien Brody and Golden Globe Award nominee Tessa Thompson will be making their Broadway debuts in The Fear of 13. Based on the documentary directed by David Sington, The Fear of 13 will be directed by Tony Award winner David Cromer.
Brody and Thompson will be joined by Tony Award nominee Ephraim Sykes, Michael Cavinder, Eddie Cooper, Victor Cruz, Eboni Flowers, Joel Marsh Garland, Jared Wayne Gladly, Joe Joseph, Jeb Kreager, and Ben Thompson.
The Fear of 13 tells the extraordinary true story of Nick Yarris, who spends more than two decades on death row for a murder he insists he did not commit. Through a series of prison visits with a volunteer named Jacki, Nick traces a life shaped by impulse and consequence. As Nick and Jacki’s conversations deepen, the line between witness and participant blurs, forcing both to confront what justice demands, what belief requires, and the perilous distance between true freedom and the illusion of self determination. By turns devastating, darkly funny, and life-affirming, The Fear of 13 is a powerful exploration of truth and trust, conscience and connection.
Performances will begin on Thursday, March 19 at the James Earl Jones Theatre.

Richard O’Brien’s The Rocky Horror Show takes on new life as a guaranteed party at the legendary Studio 54 and will feature some of the most iconic musical show stopping classics of all time, including “Dammit Janet,” “Touch-A, Touch-A, Touch Me,” “Hot Patootie” and of course, “Time Warp,” the party floor-filler. The Rocky Horror Show is the story of two squeaky clean college kids—Brad and his fiancée, Janet—on their way to visit their former college professor when by a twist of fate, their car breaks down outside a mansion. They meet the charismatic Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Riff Raff, Columbia, Magenta, Eddie, and Rocky. It is an adventure they would remember, for a very long time. Filled with fun, frolics and frocks, this is the show the Daily Telegraph calls “fresh. subversive, and essential.”
The Rocky Horror Show will begin performances on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Studio 54 on Broadway. This is a limited engagement through Sunday, June 21, 2026.

Titanique is coming to Broadway! The cast will feature Olivier & Lortel Award winner Marla Mindelle; four-time Emmy Award winner and Tony nominee Jim Parsons; film and television star Melissa Barrera; multi-platinum Grammy-nominated singer and actress Deborah Cox; original cast member Frankie Grande; Olivier Award-winning Titanique co-creator Constantine Rousouli; Lortel Award nominee John Riddle; and Olivier Award-winning West End star Layton Williams.
The critically-acclaimed theatrical phenomenon Titanique – a wildly funny send-up of the blockbuster film Titanic, powered by the songs of pop icon Céline Dion – has delighted audiences in eight cities across the globe, including a record-breaking three-year Off-Broadway run through 2025, and an Olivier Award-winning production still playing in London’s West End.
Titanique will Broadway debut this spring in a 16-week limited engagement beginning March 26, 2026. The production will run through July 12, 2026, at the historic St. James Theatre.

Rose Byrne and Mark Consuelos
Fallen Angels is coming to Broadway, and will star Golden Globe winner Rose Byrne; Tony Award winner Kelli O’Hara; Drama Desk Award winner Tracee Chimo; Emmy Award winner Mark Consuelos making his Broadway debut; Tony Award nominee and Drama Desk Award winner Christopher Fitzgerald; and Obie Award winner Aasif Mandvi.
Sparkling, dizzying, and deliciously potent, Noël Coward’s champagne-fresh comedy of bad manners shocked and delighted audiences in its 1925 premiere. Two upper-class wives, their husbands away for the day, share a few toasts to their pre-marital dalliances—with the same man, who just may be en route from France to visit. Old rivalries and past scandals bubble to the surface in this intoxicating romp from one of theatre’s comedy masters.
Fallen Angels will begin performances at the Todd Haimes Theatre on Broadway. This is a limited engagement through Sunday, June 7, 2026.

Taraji P. Henson, Cedric “The Entertainer,” Joshua Boone, and Ruben Santiago-Hudson will be starring in August Wilson's Joe Turner's Come and Gone which will play Broadway's Barrymore Theatre! Directed by Golden Globe Award and four-time Emmy Award winner and recent recipient of the Academy Honorary Award Debbie Allen, the production will also feature Savannah Commodore and Dominique Skye Turner sharing the role of ‘Zonia Loomis,' Bradley Stryker as ‘Rutherford Selig,' Tripp Taylor as ‘Jeremy Furlow,' and Christopher Woodley and Jackson Edward Davis sharing the role of ‘Reuben Scott.' Jasmine Batchelor, Rosalyn Coleman, Thomas Michael Hammond, Cayden McCoy, and Kevyn Morrow join the cast as understudies.
Set in 1911, Joe Turner's Come and Gone unfolds in a Pittsburgh boarding house run by the steadfast Seth and warm-hearted Bertha Holly. Their home offers refuge to Black travelers navigating the upheaval of the Great Migration. Among them is Herald Loomis, a man on a quest to reunite with his lost wife—and to reclaim the self he was forced to abandon during seven years of forced labor under Joe Turner. As buried traumas surface and spiritual forces awaken, Loomis's journey becomes one of profound self-discovery. Around him, others seek connection, direction, and healing from a past marked by pain. Through poetic dialogue and vivid, deeply human characters, Wilson crafts a powerful meditation on identity, resilience, and renewal.
Joe Turner's Come and Gone is the second installment in Wilson's American Century Cycle — his groundbreaking ten-play series chronicling the African American experience in each decade of the 20th century. This long-awaited revival brings Wilson's enduring legacy back to Broadway, reaffirming the urgent, timeless relevance of his work.
Performances of Joe Turner's Come and Gone will begin on Monday, March 30, 2026 at the Barrymore Theatre through Sunday, July 12, only.

Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle
Emmy, SAG, and Golden Globe Award winner Ayo Edebiri and Academy Award nominee, two-time Golden Globe Award winner, and 11-time Emmy Award nominee Don Cheadle will make their Broadway debuts next spring in the first-ever New York revival of David Auburn’s Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning play Proof, directed by Tony Award winner Thomas Kail.
In Proof, Catherine (Edebiri), the brilliant but restless daughter of renowned mathematics professor Robert (Cheadle), is thrust into turmoil when a notebook containing a revelatory Proof is discovered after his death. As debate erupts over its true authorship, Catherine must confront the power of legacy, and the cost of proving herself.
Proof will begin performances Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Broadway's Booth Theatre.
