A word from our director Damian Sanchez-

"Welcome everyone to Lion King Jr!!! It has been an incredible honor to direct Lion King Jr, and to be completely honest and upfront, doing this show was quite the challenge, but as we reach the end of this journey, I see how worth it this journey was. We put on an awesome show, and we hope you enjoy the final product of these kids. These kids are so talented. They have taken direction from myself and the rest of the production staff to the best of their ability despite the hardships we have faced with our space, many productions happening all at once, they have put on a great show. I am really, really proud of each and every single one of them, no matter their age, amount of experience. I cannot thank my cast enough for putting their faith in me and the rest of the production staff.

I would also like to thank all of the parents and guardians of the cast. Thank you for practicing dances, running lines, or songs. Life is busy, especially this time of year, so I thank you for all your extra effort at home; it really makes a difference. We appreciate it immensely. I wanna thank my co-director and choreographer, Brittany Grim. Britt has helped me so much with the difficult parts of directing a show with this age group and has done the wonderful choreography that I could never do. Thank you for everything you do (one billion things), Britt. I wanna thank Stacy DeBord for doing vocals for this show. Stacy is the absolute best with the kids. She is the sweetest and has done so so much for our community and this show. Thank you, Stacy. I would also like to thank our assistant director, Glenda. Thank you for helping manage the cast and help them find their characters. We appreciate you tons!!!

Special thanks to all of the people who made this show look real amazing both with the set and with the costumes. For the set, thanks to Brandon Harrinton, Patrick Johnson, and his team at Allied Roofing Company. For the costumes, thanks to Marily Harrington, Cierro, and all the people who helped them make all of the costumes and props. I would also like to thank all of the backstage help we had. Helping this age group backstage is a harrowing task… These backstage helpers are Asher Gamino, Sage Hughes, Royal Simmons, and Glenda Carol!!!"

FIND YOUR LIGHT MENTAL WELLNESS

OUR MISSION

Across Northern Colorado, thousands of youth and adults face obstacles that hinder their personal growth. Lack of access to positive outlets, safe environments, and opportunities to explore their creative potential often leads to a decline in mental wellness. Colorado ranks 43rd in the country for mental health issues and lack of resources. Our programs have proven to be a beacon of hope and a catalyst for change. However, our current facilities and resources limit our ability to serve our growing community.

FYL is launching an ambitious $2 million capital campaign to purchase a building our community can call a forever home. This building will serve as a creative hub for the Northern Colorado community. With your support, we can expand our reach and amplify our impact, offering more people the opportunity to experience the life-changing benefits of the performing arts.

Ways to Give:

  • Naming Opportunities: Leave a lasting legacy by naming a space in our new facility.
  • Major Gifts: Become a founding supporter of our new building.
  • Monthly Giving: Pledge a recurring gift to sustain our vision and ensure our programs thrive for years to come.
