BWW Stage Mag Good Boys Anonymous - The Actors Company - The Other Space Stage Mag

Welcome to Good Boys Anonymous.

Seven human voices bring raw confessions of people pleasing to this circle.  Not therapy. Not speeches. Detonation. A seance for stolen selves. A shared space where our masks finally start to crack. We all fight the same demon through wildly different lenses— because ‘good’ isn’t gender or race; it’s handcuffs. You won’t be watching strangers—you’ll recognize yourself.

Good boys finish last. Tonight, we all quit.

Note from the Writer:

Good Boys Anonymous began with a simple, uncomfortable question: what happens to the “good ones” when being helpful, polite, and responsible becomes a cage instead of a choice?

I grew up around people who carried the room for everyone else—the peacemakers, the fixers, the straight‑A kids, the ones who were told they were “so mature for their age.” On the outside, they looked fine. On the inside, the cost was showing up in their bodies, their relationships, and the parts of themselves they had to hide just to keep the peace.

This play is built like a meeting, not a lecture: no diagnoses, no experts, just seven human beings telling the truth out loud, maybe for the first time. Some of what they share is funny, some of it is painful, and much of it lives in that uncomfortable space where you laugh and wince at the same time.

If you recognize yourself in any of these voices—the overachiever, the caretaker, the perpetual “strong one”—you’re not alone. My hope is that this hour gives you a chance to breathe, to feel seen, and maybe to loosen your own “good” mask, even just a little.

For me, creating this piece has been its own leap of faith, and if you’ve been carrying a story of your own, I hope this nudges you a little closer to sharing it.

Thank you for being here, for listening, and for bringing your own story into the circle with us tonight.

Meet the Company

Joshua Alejo

Casey
Joshua Alejo - Casey

Joshua is so happy to be back on stage, sharing a story that feels meaningful and important. Especially proud to represent the LGBTQ+ community and help shine light on queer stories with heart, and honesty. When he isn’t acting, Joshua pours his creativity into his art business, AlejoArtShop, where he creates abstract pieces inspired by nature, nostalgia, and imagination. He is deeply thankful for his family, loved ones, and everyone who continues to support him on his creative journey <3

Scott Hislop

Ian
Scott Hislop - Ian

Scott is thrilled to be back at the Hollywood Fringe Festival 12 years after debuting his multi award winning one man show "I Want to Bury My Testimony". Since then he’s been busy working both in front of and behind the camera as an actor, dancer, choreographer, writer, host and producer. The best thing about wearing lots of creative hats is the amount of opportunities to collaborate with talented people exponentially increase. The worst thing - you have to buy lots of outfits to match said hats. Here’s to the good boys and girls of all stripes.

On stage I've originated roles in theater productions, Pepper Street, Club Soda, and my own one woman show. It's a joy and an honor to be working with Bill Prudich and saying his words. Thank you to my amazing husband and daughters for always supporting me. This performance is dedicated to Bonnie, Ken, Lois, and Ella.

Bill Prudich

Bill
Bill Prudich - Bill

Bill is a Los Angeles–based performance coach, teacher, adjudicator, and recovering “good boy,” appearing in Good Boys Anonymous as its writer/creator, performer, and storyteller. Good Boys Anonymous is his debut full-length work as a playwright. Raised in West Virginia and originally headed for medical school, he detoured into dance and has spent his life in studios, soundstages, and rehearsal rooms instead of hospitals.

As a performer, Bill has danced in projects including La La Land, Back to the Future, the original Fame television series, and The Muppets, as well as music work with artists such as Jennifer Lopez and Ed Sheeran. He still pops up on screen, most recently in several episodes of Palm Royale and performing with Alex Warren at the iHeart Music Awards.

In Good Boys Anonymous, he turns that history inward—using his body, voice, and slightly overdeveloped conscience to examine obedience, approval, and what happens when a lifelong rule‑follower starts telling the truth.

Kevin Ross

Devon
Kevin Ross - Devon

Originating from Kansas City, a city famous for barbecue and the Kansas City Chiefs, much like the Chiefs; Kevin has a fighting spirit that is unparalleled. Moving to LA at age 17 to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA); Kevin was no stranger to adversity but has always maintained his signature positive attitude through it all and most of all, he’s stayed ambitious. Coming to the present day Kevin has used that ambition in his acting to present incredible performances in any role he takes on. Whether it’s giving you chills with his death-stare playing a small town gangster in the Chinese indie hit WEST OF NOWHERE to making you want to get up and shake it with his slick bars as one half of the rap duo CONTRABXND; Kevin has the talent, range, and the determination to give amazing performances like no one has seen before. So please, and get ready to hear this often, give it up for Kevin Ross!

Bill Prudich

Writer/Co-Director/Producer
Bill Prudich - Writer/Co-Director/Producer

As writer, co-director, and producer of Good Boys Anonymous, Bill Prudich builds on decades of helping other people tell their stories. A longtime performance coach, teacher, and recovering "good boy", he served as Executive Director of Los Angeles’ renowned EDGE Performing Arts Center from 1992 to 2020, where he helped develop and mentor generations of working performers and choreographers.

Bill’s work behind the scenes includes preparing artists for Dancing with the Stars and Broadway productions such as Chicago, Wicked, and Hello, Dolly!, where he worked closely with Bette Midler on her Tony‑winning return. His international teaching and adjudication have taken him across the United States, Canada, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Mexico, giving him a front‑row seat to how “good kids” and high achievers hold themselves together (or don’t).

With Good Boys Anonymous, he channels those years in the rehearsal room—and his own West Virginia roots—into a darkly funny, quietly humane look at perfectionism, performance, and the cost of always trying to get it “right.”
