Founding Managing Director
Zaylin Yates is the Founding Managing Director of Brévo Theatre, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to advancing equity in the arts by elevating the voices of young Black artists and spotlighting emerging talent across disciplines. Under his visionary leadership, Brévo has produced critically acclaimed, socially relevant programming that engages diverse audiences and fosters community dialogue through the performing arts. The organization is widely recognized for its bold storytelling, inclusive casting practices, and commitment to cultivating the next generation of theatre professionals.
In addition to leading Brévo Theatre, Zaylin serves as Manager of Community Engagement at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County, where he designs and implements initiatives that connect South Florida communities to transformative cultural experiences. His work bridges arts access and education, deepening civic engagement through live performance and strategic partnerships.

A graduate of Florida A&M University, Zaylin holds an M.B.A., a B.S. in Business Administration, and a B.A. in Theatre Performance. His cross-sector expertise in nonprofit management, creative production, and community-building informs his strategic approach to arts leadership. Over the past decade, he has produced, directed, and performed in a range of theatrical works, always with a focus on authentic storytelling and cultural relevance.
Zaylin’s impact extends beyond the stage. He has sat on grant review panels for the Florida Department of State’s Division of Arts & Culture, Broward Cultural Division, and the South Arts Advisory Council, helping to shape arts funding policy and support for regional organizations.
He is the recipient of the Joel A. Crane Golden Spirit Award, Lead With Your Art, Community Trailblazer Award, a South Florida Legacy 40 Under 40 Honoree, and an ICABA Salute to Men Who Lead Honoree.
Zaylin’s work is driven by a core belief: that the arts are a powerful tool for social change. Through strong governance, visionary programming, and community-rooted engagement, he continues to build spaces where underrepresented voices are heard, valued, and celebrated.
Terrence Pride
Producing Artistic Director
Terrence “TM” Pride is a native of Quincy, Florida, and a graduate of Florida A&M University in theater performance and dance. He received his Master of Education in Urban Education from Florida International University in 2022. He has choreographed over 60 pieces of work, including musicals and dance recitals. A man of many talents; director, choreographer, dancer, costume designer, and teacher. Terrence can be seen on the stage or behind the camera; Rialto Theatre’s American Black Princess, HBO’s Love Craft Country are two of his most recent productions. He completed his third year as a principal dancer with Peter London Global Dance Company in 2022. His career as a professional teaching artist began in 2012, as the director of the arts program for 21st Century Fun2Learn Camp for four years in Gadsden County. He continued his work in arts administration at the Joan Kroc Atlanta Theater Camp, Florida Studio Theatre in Sarasota, FL, Apalachee Tapestry School of the Arts in Tallahassee, FL, Ailey Camp Miami at the Adrienne Arsht Center, and lastly Dillard Center for the Arts in Fort Lauderdale. Terrence curated Definitive Arts: Arts Integrated Education, lessons for the classroom teacher infuse common core with fun and energetic elements of drama and dance! As a scholar and advocate for cultural and arts education, he aspires to create safe and nurturing spaces for arts and cultural exploration and representation through theater and dance. Through his involvement with local and state grant committees, The E.A.T.N. Project, which connects communities and schools, and the South Florida Afro Pride organization which promotes health and wellness amongst the black LGBTQAI+ community, Terrence is actively engaged in community and collaboration. Recently, T.M. Pride received the Sara Spencer Child Drama Award from the Southeastern Theatre Conference for his dynamic and engaging work for young people.
Jarron Charles McKinney
Director
Jarron-Charles McKinney is a multifaceted dance and theatre arts educator, stage director, and choreographer dedicated to cultivating the next generation of performers. He holds a BFA in Theatre with a specialization in Dance Theatre Production from Barry University and is currently pursuing an MEd in Theatre Pedagogy. Deeply committed to
both the performing arts and arts education, Jarron serves Miami-Dade County Public Schools by designing and implementing dynamic dance and theatre curricula that nurture well-rounded, versatile artists prepared to thrive in a variety of creative roles. His artistic and educational contributions, particularly in South Florida and the Miami
Gardens community, have earned him notable accolades, including Rookie Teacher of the Year (Carol City Middle School/UTD, 2023–2024), Teacher of the Quarter (City of Miami Gardens, April 2025), and Teacher of the Year (Councilwoman Katrina Baskin and the City of Miami Gardens, June 2025), along with an official city commendation.
Jarron’s teaching is guided by a core philosophy: to plant seeds of potential and take joy in nurturing their growth.
Antonia Scott
Choreographer/Rehearsal Director
Antonia is a dance & choreographer that started her artistic journey here in Broward county fl at the age of 3. Quickly growing a passion for this art Antonia trained in many styles from; Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Modern, Hip-hop & Tap. Antonia participated in performing arts magnet programs at Parkway middle school & Dillard High School. While
in high school Antonia also competed competitively at many major competitions earning high adjurations. High school is also where Antonia gained her love for teaching and choreography and taught at local studios in the Broward county area until she graduated.
Upon graduating high school Antonia moved to Los Angeles to further her dance education. While in LA, she performed in stage shows like Carnival and Club Jete as well as booking commercials for Disney + and a music video with artist Renee Rapp. She also got the opportunity to put her own work on stage at NACHMO LA. Antonia returned to Broward to cultivate a space and community in the place she first fell in love with dance. Antonia is currently acting as choreographer and rehearsal director at Brevo Theatre. Antonia’s passion for dance extends beyond words and her hope is that her work will inspire others and give audiences an escape from their everyday life.
Dr. Arnekua Jackson
Music Director/Instructor
Dr. Arnekua Jackson is a dream maker, culture disrupter, trailblazer, and award-winning music educator who has spent over fourteen years serving grades K through 12. She has a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and holds both a Master of Music Education and a Doctor of Philosophy in Music Education from Florida State University. Dr. Jackson has dedicated much of her career to teaching General Music and building a choral program that supports core content growth. As a high school choral director, she is passionate about helping students identify and enrich their musical talents. Dr. Jackson is also the Department Chair of Fine Arts, Student Government Advisor, and a Beginning Teacher Mentor, and she was recently appointed as an Adjunct Music Professor at Palm Beach State College.
Throughout her career, Dr. Jackson has earned numerous accolades, including Teacher of the Year for both elementary and high school, Finalist for Palm Beach County's Dwyer Award for the Senior High Category, Top 5 Finalist as Distinguished Educator of the Year in Leon County, honoree for Florida State University's Black History Spotlight, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University's Alumni Spotlight, and she was selected as Thomasville, Georgia’s Outstanding Youth Director of the Year. She has also been awarded two Mayoral Proclamations,
selected as the McDonald's Cash for Classroom Grant Grand Prize recipient, and won NBC’s Let's Hear Your Voice Competition for Songwriting and Best Music Video. In addition, Dr. Jackson raised over $100,000 for her students to perform at the Festival at Carnegie Hall
National Youth Choir in New York and was recently appointed as the State Chair for the Florida Music Educators Association Multicultural Network. Dr. Jackson's passion for promoting cultural representation in music education led her to write a children's book called "I Belong In Music," which was published in 2021. Her book, which features positive minority characters, themes, and illustrations, has been sold nationally and internationally in stores such as Target, Walmart, Barnes & Noble, and Books A Million. It has been displayed in classrooms and libraries all over the nation due to its vivid illustrations and moving storyline. Dr. Jackson has presented at many art and educational festivals as a children's entertainer and storyteller. In her spare time, Dr. Jackson presents at state and national conferences for music education, travels around the world, mentors young minority girls, and develops music research that promotes transcultural learning and diversity in the field.
She currently resides in Boynton Beach, Florida, where she works as a Choral Director and Department Chair of Fine Arts at Boynton Beach High School.
Eddie Brown

Eddie R Brown III (Miami, FL) attended the New World School of the Arts, Miami FL - DePaul University (BFA 02), Chicago IL, and the Yale School of Drama (MFA 09). He’s appeared onstage at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater (Julius Caesar/Bombitty of Errors) Victory Gardens Theater (Kiwi Black), Seattle Repertory Theater (The Brothers Size), Harlem Stage (Bloodazzler), St. Louis Rep/Cincnatti Playhouse (FLY), Adrienne Arsht Center (Topdog Underdog), and The Pubic Theater (The Total
Bent). At the Sundance Theater Lab he workshopped Passing Strange (03), After the War (03), Africa Kills Her Sun (11), and Wild with Happy (11). On television Eddie appeared on Rescue Me (FX), NYC 22 (CBS), and Ironside(NBC). Film credits include Home:___, and The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete. Eddie served as dialect coach for David Makes Man (OWN), ” and OT Fagabenle who appears as Barak Obama in the The First Lady (SHO).
Jeffery Cason Jr.

JEFFERY "J. Case" CASON, JR. is a Miami native and proud alumni of the Performing and Visual Arts Center Players under the direction of Charlette Seward. A presently a member of the Miami dance group, Live In Color. His show credits include Hair (HUD), The Colored Museum, Memphis The Musical (principal dancer/Gator US), The Color Purple (Pa/Ensemble), The Wiz (yellow brick road/ensemble), God's Trombones (Choreographer/Lead Dancer), The Colored Museum (Miss. Roj/kid/walter beau-willie). Jeffery was part of an opening performance for Boys II Men and Melba Moore (Quintet). His special credits are The Bobby Jones Gospel Retreat, The Don Francisco Te Invita show (The Bodyshop Experience), Miami Funk Fest / Uncle Luke (Live In Color). Jeffery also received a Silver Palm Award for his choreography in the production of God's Trombones where he held a nomination for a Carbonell Award thus making him a nominated/award winning choreographer.
Dr. Yvette Maureen

Dr. Yvette Maureen (Holmes) is a business professional and passionate entrepreneur who has distinguished herself as an accomplished scholar, professor, business advisor, prolific author, host, speaker, and dedicated community leader.
A scholar, author, and business school professor, Dr. Yvette is universally characterized as an authority on business marketing strategies, total-body wellness, and success. As one of today’s highly sought-after business experts, she has documented and shared principles and insight on peak performance with thousands of followers around the globe.
Aside from her profound impact in academia, Dr. Yvette is a strategy consultant to business leaders. Recently appointed as the Vice President of Communications & Business Strategy for The Taylor Institute, Dr. Yvette supports the firm's coaching and leadership development services. Dr. Yvette provides further strategic vision as the Vice President of Operations & Strategic Planning for Black Women PhDs, where she assists the organization in facilitating opportunities for collaboration, exposure, and mentorship between current and future Black women with doctoral degrees around the globe.
As a 5x author, TEDx speaker, and visionary, Dr. Yvette is an advocate for influencing people to change their personal and professional well-being for the better through upliftment and innovation. She challenges people to learn, grow, and move beyond their comfort zones to achieve goals in the areas of business and total body wellness. As a visionary leader, Dr. Yvette launched The AMARA Woman, where she creates specialized resources uniquely designed for the woman on her journey to improve total-body wellness through social connections, health, and happiness, and with a sense of purpose.
With followers from around the globe, Dr. Yvette is committed to empowering communities and equipping women to be the best version of themselves through wellness and business solutions. Dubbed the “Queen of Versatility”, she has inspired many to level up their personal and professional lives.
Melvin Huffnagle

Melvin Huffnagle is happy to return to GableStage where he was last seen as Shawn in King James and as August Wilson in last season's How I Learned What I Learned. Mr.Huffnagle currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Acting in FIU's Theatre Department and is also a member of The National Michael Chekhov Association (NMCA). He has worked professionally as an Actor in NYC for over twenty years. Mr.Huffnagle is a ten-year member of The Layon Gray American Theatre in NYC where he originated numerous roles in the company's many Off-Broadway productions; Cowboy (Gus), The Kings of Harlem Coach (Ben Coffey III), and Searching for Willie Lynch (Harlen Davis). Mr. Huffnagle also appeared as Jerimaih Jones in the company's long-running and award-winning Black Angels Over Tuskegee.
