Nora
Felicia Fairley (Nora) is excited to join this lovely production. She hails from the great state of Kansas and is now an LA based actor, singer and writer. Allison Landis
Elle
Allison Landis (Elle) is an LA-based actor and writer. Originally from Houston, Texas, Allison is a recent graduate of Loyola Marymount University's theatre program, has trained at RADA and holds a Foundation Diploma in Theatre from the Lir National Academy of Dramatic Art. Some of her favorite past productions include As You Like It (Rosalind), Love's Labour's Lost (Rosaline), The Children's Hour (Rosalie Wells), and Les Miserables. When not acting, Allison can usually be found writing, playing with her dogs, and studying martial arts. She is so unbelievably excited to be participating in her first Hollywood Fringe play and would like to thank Dawn and Tippi for giving her the opportunity!
Dawn Branch
Writer/Producer
A playwright and producer originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dawn earned a BA in theater and an MFA in film production before moving to Los Angeles. She has been working in the film industry for over a decade. Diving back into writing, Dawn is honored that her work has been shown by theater companies across the country.
"Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia" placed first in the 2023 Hendrix-Murphy Alumni Playwrighting Contest and has been licensed for a staged reading this summer in Florida.
Staged short plays include the 21st century "Lysistrata" update "LMK" and "This IS the Play."
I want to thank everyone on the Hippo team for your amazing work and talent in bringing this story to the stage. Tippi - congratulations on your first show as director. Thank you for all you put into this! Felicia - I'm so lucky to have so randomly met you in this town. Your talent always dazzles me. Allison - you so bravely stepped in and brought such beauty to this crazy role and I'll forever be thankful.
I also want to thank my family and friends who indulged my artistic craziness over the years. My teachers, my mentors, all of my amazing cheerleaders through life. Your support means so much to me. Love you all.
Tippi Thomas
Director
Tippi is an actress and now a director. Some previous theater credits include Macbeth (Hecate), The Cherry Orchard (Varya), The Colored Museum (Various Roles), Parallel Lives (Various Roles), Love’s Labour’s Lost (Holofernes), and Misery Streets (Miss Misery), which won an NAACP Award for Best Ensemble.
On the film side you can see Tippi in Maid of Honor, Cole & Colette, Just Jackie, Moving On, and the upcoming Book of Cain.
HIPPO is her first directing project.
I want to first and foremost thank my family for their continued support! And a huge shout out to Dawn Branch for trusting me with your words and to the amazing cast for bringing those words to life. THANK YOU Hollywood Fringe for hosting Hippo this year!
