ABOUT THE BURLINGTON PLAYERS
The Park Playhouse is home to three theater groups, The Burlington Players, Winnmere Family Theater, and Children’s Theater Workshop.
The Burlington Players (BP) is an all volunteer, adult theater group open to those ages 18 and over, and happily accepts new members. Experience in performing or technical theater is certainly welcome, but not necessary. We will mentor anyone who wants to learn any aspect of theater. The Burlington Players usually produce a four-show season each year.
Winnmere Family Theater (WFT) is open to ages 18 and above. Members get hands-on experience in all aspects of theater, including performance, stage management, lighting and sound design and operation, and set construction — everything to get a show up and running. Winnmere Family Theater produces up to three shows per year, dedicated to audiences of families and children.
The Children’s Theater Workshop (CTW) has run continuously since 1973. The CTW season begins in September with theater classes for ages 7 –17. CTW helps develop imagination, voice, body movement, storytelling, and other performance skills.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Nora Ephron (1941-2012) was educated at Wellesley College, Massachusetts. She was an acclaimed essayist (Crazy Salad, 1975), novelist (Heartburn, 1983), and had written screenplays for several popular films, all featuring strong female characters, such as anti-nuclear activist Karen Silkwood (Silkwood, 1983, co-written with Alice Arlen) and a mobster's feisty independent daughter Cookie Voltecki (Cookie, 1989, also co-written with Arlen). Ephron's hard-headed sensibilities helped make Rob Reiner's When Harry Met Sally... (1989) a clear-eyed view of modern romance, and she earned an Oscar nomination for her original screenplay. Ephron made her directorial debut with the comedy This Is My Life (1992), co-scripted by her sister Delia Ephron, which starred Julie Kavner as a single mother who struggles to establish herself as a stand-up comedienne. Ephron followed up by helming and co-writing Sleepless in Seattle (1993), a romantic comedy in which lovers Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan are separated for most of the film. Less about love than about love in the movies, the film drew inspiration from the beloved shipboard romance An Affair to Remember (1957), starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr. Ephron was the daughter of stage and screen-writing team Henry Ephron and Phoebe Ephron, who used her infancy as the subject of their play Three's a Family and based their comedy Take Her, She's Mine (1963) on letters their daughter wrote them from college. Their screenplays include There's No Business Like Show Business (1954), Carousel (1956) and Desk Set (1957). Formerly married to novelist Dan Greenburg and investigative journalist Carl Bernstein, Ephron was, at the time of her passing, wed to crime journalist and screenwriter Nicholas Pileggi, who wrote such films as Goodfellas (1990).
DELIA EPHRON
Delia Ephron is a novelist, screenwriter, essayist, and playwright. She is the author of the best-selling memoir, Left on Tenth: A Second Chance at Life. Her play, based on the memoir, directed by Susan Stroman, was produced on Broadway. Her novels include the best-selling Siracusa and The Lion Is In; her books of essays and humor include SisterMotherHusbandDog (etc) and How To Eat Like A Child. She has written children’s books and young adult novels. Her many movie credits – often co-written with her sister Nora Ephron -- include You’ve Got Mail, Michael, and Hanging Up, based on her novel. Her sister and she co-authored the play, Love, Loss and What I Wore. Her essays have been published in The New York Times, Vogue, and Vanity Fair. She is part of The Empathy Project, a collaboration of doctors and filmmakers who create films to teach empathy to doctors. She lives in Greenwich Village.
ILENE BECKERMAN
Ilene Beckerman was nearly sixty years old when she began her writing career. Her articles have appeared in the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Ladies Home Journal, and many other places. Her books have been translated into German, Japanese, French, and Portuguese. She has done spot drawings for the New Yorker and her art has been included in exhibitions at the Museum of the City of New York. She now travels the country talking to women’s groups. In her own words, “Ladies, you’re never too old to start again.”

Meet the Company
Karen Fanale
Karen last performed with Burlington Players in The Book of Will (DASH Nomination) and Company. Recent credits include Agatha Christie's Spider's Web (DASH Award). Karen has performed with many local companies including AFD (The Light in the Piazza, The Graduate, and A Little Night Music), QP Theater (California Suite), and Colonial Chorus Players (Ruthless!). Karen has also performed with Reagle Summer Music Theatre, SpeakEasy Stage, and Greater Boston Theatre Company. Thanks to the amazing team at BP!
Kristin Gillett
Kristin is delighted to be working with Burlington Players for the first time. She has most recently been seen in Women in Jeopardy (Theater III), Peter Pan (Georgetown Theatre Workshop) and Into The Woods (Colonial Chorus Players). She spends her days performing 6 shows a day to a captive audience of middle school German students in Westford. Many thanks to all who have supported her and the local Arts!
Rebecca Healy
Rebecca is thrilled to return to the stage with the Burlington Players having last been seen as Meredith in First Night in 2024. Other roles at Burlington include Meredith (Five Women Wearing the Same Dress) and Julie (Jake's Women). Favorite roles at other theatres include Avery (Rapture, Blister, Burn) at Vokes Players; Steph (Reasons to be Pretty) and Mona (Then) (Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean) at Hovey Players; Amy (Fit to Kill) and Babe (Crimes of the Heart) at Acme Theater; and Romaine Patterson, etc. (The Laramie Project) and Jenny (The Shape of Things) at Winthrop Playmakers. Many thanks to Karen and this wonderful cast for creating such a magical experience. Thank you to Kristin for the endless support and encouragement and to M and J for being the best little cheerleaders.
Ivy Ho
This is Ivy's third show with the Burlington Players, following Book of Will (2024) and The Amish Project (2026). After having spent her impressionable childhood years dressed like her older brothers and her awkward adolescent years dressed like her middle-aged mother, it is no wonder that she did not grow up to be a fashionista. Participating in theater the past three-and-a-half years has given her ample opportunity to play dress up. Ivy is grateful to her parents for everything, and to Keanu Reeves for being her number one fan.
Kerry Anne Kilkelly
Kerry Anne is excited and grateful to be working with Burlington Players for the first time. She has worked onstage and in film over the years with some favorite past roles as Van Helsing (Dracula), Beatrice (Much Ado About Nothing) and Miep Geis (The Diary of Anne Frank). Kerry Anne studied Theatre along with Radio Broadcasting and Communciations at Suffolk University and currently works in Administrative Communications for Unitarian Universalist churches.
June Maguire
June is excited to be back for her third performance with The Burlington Players. When not onstage, she works as a IT Project Manager at Harvard Business School and also teaches Zumba. Favorite past theatrical roles include Tenola Stoney in Court Martial at Fort Devens, Mrs. Muller in Doubt, A Parable and Marianne in The Revolutionists. She sends a special thank you to her husband Darin for all of his love and support.
Margaret McCarty
Margaret is pleased to return to the Burlington Players, having last been seen on the Burlington Stage as Lucy Angkatell in The Hollow. Past roles with Burlington include Muriel Eubanks in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Kimberly in Kimberly Akimbo, and the woman in Veronica’s Room. Other roles include Sonya in Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike (Vokes Players), Sally Durant Plummer in Follies (Concord Players), Big Edie/Little Edie in Grey Gardens (Arlington Friends of the Drama), Jenny in Company (Quannapowitt Players), and Eleanor in The Lion in Winter (Wakefield Repertory Theater). She has also wrangled props for Time Stands Still and Rabbit Hole (both with QP), dressed the set for Lifespan of a Fact (Vokes Players), and collected costumes for Mauritius (QP). In real life, she teaches English and history to eighth graders in Methuen.
Katie Pompeo
Kris Reynolds
Kris is very happy to be performing again with the Burlington Players. Past performances include The Last NIght of Ballyhoo, All in the Timing, Sylvia, and Midnight and Moll Flanders. During the past few years, you might have seen Kris’ costume design for First Night, Fun Home and Book of Will, which was awarded the 2025 DASH award for best costume design for a play.
Jacey Lynn Rutledge
Having last been seen on the Burlington stage as Grace in the 2025 production of Working for Crumbs, Jacey is grateful for this chance to perform with yet another truly amazing group of women! Previously, Jacey appeared in the Players's productions of Incorruptible (Marie) and Dearly Departed (Raynelle Turpin). Other favorite roles include Gino in Hollywood/Ukraine (Vokes Players), Mistress Page in The Merry Wives of Windsor (Worlds A Stage Players), Jacey in The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) and Holly in Last Fall (Hovey Players), and Dromio of Syracuse in The Comedy of Errors at Quannapowitt Players for which Jacey received the DASH award for Best Supporting Performer in a Play. Jacey has also been recognized for her production design work - focusing on set and prop design. Previously having directed Julia Cho’s The Language Archive at Acme Theater, Jacey will be returning to the director's chair this Spring for Kate Hamill's bold, spirited, and timely adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice to close out the Burlington Players 2026-2027 season. Jacey would like to express a huge THANK YOU to Karen for this opportunity, to the entire cast - both principal and understudy - for their support, passion, and openess. And, to Jason, “I love you to the moon and back, you weirdo.”
Liz Salazar
Liz is excited to make her first appearance on the Burlington Players' stage. She is a local playwright, director, and actor. Her most recent acting credits include Mamita in This Place Doesn't Exist (MIT/TEATRA), Commodore Mendez in Gender-Swapped Star Trek: The Menagerie (PMRP), and Haikumom/Odessa in Water by the Spoonful (Theatre at First).
Ruby Simonoff
Ruby is so thrilled to be a part of this show! She has been acting in plays and films since she was a child, but took a 10 year hiatus and now she's back on the stage with community theatre. She recently was in a production of Romeo & Juliet this summer, played Anne Page in Merry Wives of Windsor, and was in a play festival of short plays. Her day job is teaching 5th graders to read and write. Ruby feels honored to be a part of this production and be sharing the stage with such a talented group of women.
Kathleen Wackowski
Kathleen has enjoyed performing with various Community Theater groups since1983. She is excited to be performing with The Burlington Players for the third time. She previously appeared in Burlington's A Man of No Importance and The Bridges of Madison County. She would like to thank both QP Theater and CCP Theater, both of whom she has had the pleasure of performing with, for generously sharing their stages for this production. Since retiring, Kathleen has enjoyed her volunteer work with the Veterans Residential Home, Liberty House and running an antique space at the Canal St Antique Mill. She is dedicating her performance to Joan Akerstrom and Maryanne Aburus.
Vivian Marie Wholey
Vivian has been acting on the stage since she was in middle school. She is from Billerica, MA where she went to Billerica Memorial High School, playing notable roles such as Brigitta (The Sound of Music), Marianne (Tartuffe), and Jennie Mae (The Diviners). She graduated from Endicott College in Beverly, MA in 2023, where she minored in Theater and played roles such as Sandrine (Almost, Maine), Poppy Norton-Taylor (Noises Off!), and Vera/The Beholder (She Kills Monsters). Since graduating, she has been in a number of local short films, and community theater productions, notably Violet (Play On!) at Cannon Theater and Lulu (Family Album) at Chelmsford Center for the Arts. She currently works as an Interior Designer by day, but her big dream is to be a full-time working actress for TV, Film, and Live Theater. She would like to thank her family, friends, and mentors for always supporting her acting dreams, and she is so excited to be a part of her first show with The Burlington Players!
Shelley Wood
Steve Bermundo
"Steve is a fairly recent resident of Concord, MA. He moved from Southern California where his stage experience began as a cheerleader in college. His plan was to study fine arts and graphic design but he ended up dancing for Disneyland instead which eventually lead to a career as a professional dancer based in Los Angeles. He works as an illustrator now but continues to call stage a second home here in Massachusetts with the fortune of having been cast in various local plays including Working for Crumbs, and Chagrin Valley, (Burlington Players), The Cottage (ACME Theater), The Elephant Man, (Hovey Players), Middleton Heights (The Umbrella Arts theater), and he just finished a successful run at AAPC PLAYFEST 9. He is very proud to be involved with tonight's show and hopes his illustrations do the story justice. Steve thanks his Mom and his husband, Joe, for always encouraging him to pursue his passions."
