What is Lumière D’Hiver?

Lumière D’Hiver means “Winter Light” in French — a reflection of how, for many, the winter season can bring a quiet darkness that isn’t always visible on the surface. The holidays can stir memories, magnify loss, or remind us of those who aren’t near.

For Hope, that darkness feels overwhelming, until friendship and connection guide her back toward the warmth of love, joy, and the holiday spirit. In many ways, her journey mirrors what so many experience; the search for light in difficult seasons, and the reminder that sometimes, it’s the people around us who help us find it again.

A Note from the Producers

The holidays have always held a special place in our hearts. We absolutely adore this season — the lights, the music, the traditions, and the sense of togetherness it brings. But we also recognize that, for many, this time of year can feel bittersweet. Beneath the sparkle and celebration, there can be moments of loneliness, reflection, and quiet hope.

Lumière D’Hiver, which translates to Winter Light, was written with that in mind. Brevan began crafting this story in April 2025, carefully walking the line between melancholy and magic, aiming to capture both the beauty and vulnerability of the season.

As the production took shape, portions of the show began to materialize in real life. The overwhelming support from our friends, fellow creatives, and community has been nothing short of incredible. From costume fittings and equipment preparations to the venue itself, every step revealed new connections and acts of kindness. The generosity and enthusiasm that have surrounded this production have been a light in their own right, and along the way, this show built its own family outside of the theater, reflecting exactly what Lumière D’Hiver is all about.

We believe Lumière D’Hiver strikes a perfect balance between heart and spectacle, and we’re so excited to share it with you. Our hope is that it reminds you, as it has reminded us, that even in the darkest winter, light always returns, sometimes in the most unexpected ways.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being here, for supporting live performance, and for being part of the Cirque Étendue family. We’re truly grateful you’ve chosen to experience Lumière D’Hiver with us.

With warmth and gratitude,
Brevan Crawford & Kyle Harris
