A Note From The Choreographer and Production Team

Mary Poppins is a beloved show by everyone, old and young. The show is set in the British Edwardian era and it follows Mary Poppins, a magical nanny, as she helps bring together the dysfunctional Banks family by teaching the children (Jane and Michael Banks) important life lessons that they pass onto their parents (George and Winifred Banks).

This show is exceptionally challenging, from the scene changes while our cast is performing, to the amount of music in the show that had to be learned. As the choreographer, I also wanted to challenge them with a bit more advanced choreography, and while this took more time for the cast to perfect, they've pulled it off and I'm very impressed and proud of each and every one of them. This group of kids has proved to me time and time again that they can tackle anything we throw at them and they can put on a great show every time. 

I'd like to extend an extra big thanks to my fellow production team and our many parent volunteers, without them this show would not be possible. Putting on a musical takes many hours of work and a lot of dedication and these parent volunteers and the production team have showed how dedicated they are to giving these kids the best show we can.

Lastly I'd like to recognize our Student helpers. Chloe Mckinley, our stage manager. Chloe has spent many hours working with our Stage Crew and Cast to make our scene changes as smooth as possible, she is always there if anyone has a question and is a very useful source for our cast. Maya Elliot and Cianne O'Connell, our dance captains. I trusted these two as our dance captains since they have many years of dance experience. There had been times I was busy working on something with one group of people and I saw them reviewing our dance numbers with another group and I appreciate that more then anything. Lillian Calkins and Arelya Thibeault, our Props and Costume masters. They both were very helpful in organizing either props or costumes for our cast, and without them it would be a lot harder to locate our props and costumes. Phillippe Jussaume, our sound designer. He is responsible for mixing our mics so you can hear the cast on stage. He has always done an amazing job and we appreciate him so much. And finally, Macy Gabriele and Ian Lee, our stage crew, with direction from our stage manager they are responsible for a decent amount of our scene changes. They are both always on top of their stuff and know when their scene changes are. Now please sit back, relax, and enjoy Mary Poppins Jr!

Corban Webster (Bert) is 14 years old and in 8th grade. This is his 3rd theater production, and the music is his favorite part (he is considering the possibility of a one-man-band). And although he doesn't actually know how to clean a chimney, he still wishes you a chim-chiminy-chim-chim, cheree chim cheroo! And thank you for coming to the show.

Sydney Elliott (Winifred Banks) is so excited for another amazing musical! Sydney is a freshman in high school and has been homeschooled since first grade. Owen Lee (Michael Banks) has enjoyed this drama group very much and has been with them for three shows. In the last production he was in, he played Claude (the smart one, we think) in the best Christmas pageant ever. He is in 10th grade. He also hopes you enjoy the show!

Arelya Thibeault (Katie Nanna) is excited for another great show! Arelya is a senior and has been homeschooled for almost her whole life. This will be her third performance with the Agape Players, and she is excited to make it a memorable one for all of you and hope you enjoy Mary Poppins!

Cianne O’Connell (Mrs.Brill/Featured Dancer) is very excited to be participating in another one of Agape Players performances! Cianne is a junior and has been involved with theater for six years. There has been a lot of hard work and passion that has gone into this show from the whole cast and production team. She is forever grateful that God’s providence has allowed this opportunity to grow with the amazing people around her. The support from all of you is incredibly motivating and encouraging. Eloise Ellis (Mary Poppins) is from Somersworth and a senior in high school. She fell in love with theater at a very young age and has been in 40+ shows since she was 6. Some of her most notable roles are: Laurey Williams (Oklahoma!), Ariel (The Little Mermaid), Katherine (Newsies), Olaf (Frozen Jr.), Frenchie (Grease), Maria Rainer (Sound of Music) & Mother Abbess (Sound of Music). After high school Eloise will continue on her journey of becoming a performer across the seacoast. She would like to thank her family and theater community for the love that she is surrounded with every day.

Annabelle Raiche

Bella McKinley (Miss Smythe/Featured Dancer) is very excited for this show! Bella is 15 and a Freshman. She has been singing, dancing and performing for a few years. Some previous roles include Alice in the Best Christmas Pageant Ever and Brigitta Von Trapp in the Sound of Music. Bella thanks her family and friends for their support.

Isaiah Middleton (Chairman/Featured Dancer) Is super excited for another show. Isaiah is a freshman and has been homeschooled his entire life. Isaiah has been in six shows including this one. His favorite role was "Bob Cratchit" in "A Christmas Carol." Isaiah would like to thank his family for helping him throughout this play, and please enjoy the show.

Benjamin Hoell (Von Hussler) Is currently a high school sophomore. He is excited for another play this spring! Benjamin has been in over 6 productions at Agape Co-op and is glad he can be in one more! Christian O'Connell (John Northbrook) is excited for another great show with Agape Players! He has grown so much in his confidence and talent in drama this year, it has taught him a great sense of responsibility taking on a bigger role. Aubrey Goedecke

Miss Andrew/Featured Dancer

Aubrey Winn Goedecke (Mrs. Andrew/Featured Dancer) is 15 years old and lives in Bedford, NH. She is homeschooled and a freshman this year. Aubrey has been in thirteen productions including this one, and absolutely loves doing theater. Her absolute favorite part of theater is singing, and when not at theater she also enjoys cross country skiing, participating in the 4-H dog club, doing art, and spending time with friends. Olivia is in the 11th grade and has been performing on stage since she was 3 years old. Claire Buckley (Featured Dancer) is so excited to be performing in her second show with the Agape Players. She started out last spring as Louisa in The Sound of Music. Lillian Calkins (Featured Dancer) is delighted to be in another performance! She has been in five other plays and musicals along with two dance shows. Lillian is in 11th grade, and when she isn’t performing, she enjoys reading and listening to music. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Rachel Drury (Ensemble) is excited to be in her first performance with Agape Players. Rachel is a 10th grader who loves to read British literature. Reading great books has contributed to her interest in stage productions. Rachel also delights in watching great stories come alive on stage. One of her favorites is The Phantom of the Opera. Actually being on the stage is somewhat new for Rachel, but she is already finding her place and is looking forward to the next show. But for now, enjoy Mary Poppins!

Macy Gabriele (Tech Crew) is very excited for this show. Macy is in eighth grade and has been homeschooled her whole life. She has been in over ten shows but mostly helping with back stage. In Agape’s last show she finally decided to act! She loved it! Unfortunately, she hurt her leg and is unable to act in this show, but she is very excited to still be involved is this great program.
