Michael Shapiro - Jack Kelly Mike is so excited to be making another appearance in a SPAC Mainstage production! Mike was last seen on the SPAC Mainstage in American Idiot. Mike is also a part of the SPAC family teaching classes and working the summer camp! Other theatre credits include Saturday Night Fever (Tony Manero), Footloose (Ren), A Chorus Line (Mike Costa), Cry Baby (Whiffle), Aida (Radames), The Addams Family (Lucas). Mike is a recent graduate from Long Island University with a bachelors degree in Marketing. Mike would like to thank Kevin, Sam, Dorothy and the rest of the production team and cast for putting together this beautiful production! Much love for my family! IG: MikeShapiro12

Ben Capilets - Crutchie Ben is very excited to make his main stage debut at the Smithtown Performing Arts Center. He is thrilled to be working with his amazing castmates and production team. Ben is currently attending SUNY Oswego, where he is studying Vocal Performance. He has been a part of SUNY Oswego's casts of Romeo and Juliet (Apothecary) and The Addams Family (Ancestor and Lucas understudy). He wants to thank all his friends and family for their love and support and wishes the cast and crew the best of luck. Jeremy Cruz - Race Jeremy Is super exited to be on his second show here at SPAC. Jeremy has always wanted to be in Newsies and is thrilled to be playing Race! Some of Jeremys recent credits include Vlad in Anastasia and Marlin in Nemo.

Bradley Berdecia - Albert Bradley is ecstatic to be returning to the Smithtown Performing Arts Center stage in their production of Newsies! He recently performed in their production of Rent last fall as Steve/Waiter/Ensemble. He graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelor of Arts degree (concentration in Theatre Arts). Recent productions include Saturday Night Fever (Ensemble), Footloose (Lyle/Featured Dancer), 9 to 5 (Employee/Ensemble), Twelfth Night (Sebastian), and Avenue Q (Bad Idea Bear). @bradley.berdecia

Chris Loeschner

Specs
Chris Loeschner - Specs Chris is thrilled to make his debut on the SPAC stage! With a passion for dance and theatre, Chris has built a diverse performance background. He was a company member of Homo Veritas Dance Theater (2017-2019) and a guest performer at American Dance Theater (2016-2018). Chris also served on the faculty of Eglevsky Ballet Company in 2018, where his ballet credits include classic productions such as The Nutcracker Suite, Hansel and Gretel, and Cinderella. Chris' theatre credits include roles in West Side Story, On the Town, Saturday Night Fever and Addams Family. Currently, Chris is a music teacher in the South Country School District where he also Directs and Produces the school musical productions. Huge thanks to the family for all their support!

Dylan Schneider - Henry Dylan is so beyond excited to be making his mainstage debut at spac this summer in one of his dream shows! Previously you could have seen him at CM in The Wedding Singer(ensemble, dance captain), Hello Dolly, and Beauty and the Beast! He has been at JMU for the past two years! He has to thank the incredible Kevin Burns and Samantha Freed for this opportunity!

Bret Auricchio

Finch
Bret Auricchio - Finch Bret is excited to be playing Finch in his first MainStage production. Bret is a freshman at Sachem North high school and first found his love of theatre in seventh grade where he played Don Lockwood in Singing in the Rain Jr. Since then he has played in several productions, most recently, Ben in Descendants at SPAC. Bret’s other interests include playing baseball, dancing competitively and playing the drums in the Sachem Marching Band.

Anna Moceri

Anna Moceri - Buttons Anna is so excited to be making her SPAC debut in Newsies! She received her BFA in Acting from Montclair State University and her Associates in Acting from SCCC. Past theatre credits include “The Prom”, “Cabaret”, “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time”, “Dance Nation” and “Everybody”. Thank you Mom, Dad, and Philip for being the best support system in the world!

Past credits include: Footloose (Ariel Moore), Young Frankenstein (Inga), A Chorus Line (Diana), The Sound of Music (Liesl), Jesus Christ Superstar (Mary Magdalene), and Bring it On: the Musical (Campbell Davis). Brandon Belcher

Morris Delancey/Ensemble
Brandon Belcher - Morris Delancey/Ensemble After recently graduating from SUNY Purchase College with a Bachelor's degree in Theater and Performance, Brandon is excited for his first show with The Performing Arts Center as the Role of Morris Delancey. Brandon is a skilled actor and vocalist who is one of the 4 lead vocals of Pursuing JC, a Long Island based Christian band. Some of Brandon’s past roles include Jekyll and Hyde (Spyder), Le Mis (Marius), Pippin (Pippin), Clue (Wadsworth) and How To Defend Yourself (Andy). Brandon has not played an antagonist role since Jekyll and Hyde, and is excited to explore Morris Delanceys character on stage.

Dante DiGiorgio - Oscar Delancey/Ensemble DANTE is excited to crack some of those Newsies’ heads in his first show at Smithtown! Dante’s favorite theater credits include Rumpelstiltskin in The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon for which he won a Huntingtony for Best Supporting Actor in a Play, Nicely Nicely in Guys and Dolls for which he won a Huntingtony for Best Male Vocalist, Agatha Trunchbull in Matilda, Hugo Peabody in Bye Bye Birdie, The Artful Dodger in Oliver!, Horton the Elephant in Seussical, Mr. Warbucks in Annie, Ralphie in A Christmas Story, Jean Valjean, Marius & Gavroche in Les Misérables, Don Claude Frollo in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Gaston in Beauty & the Beast and Mrs. Trunchbull in Matilda. Dante is a proud member of SAG, and has appeared in film and TV. Dante is a third degree brown belt in karate and an accomplished musician who enjoys playing Jazz on his trumpet. Dante thanks Mr. Burns and Mrs. Bergmann-Haszinger for all their hard work on this show and his family and friends for all their support.

Will Brennan - Davey Will is incredibly excited to make his mainstage debut at the Smithtown Performing Arts Center in such an incredible production!!! Past credits include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Joseph), The Sound of Music (Rolf), and The Wizard of Oz (Scarecrow/Tinman Swing). Other favorite credits include Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella (Prince Topher), Les Miserables (Enjolras), and Disney's Beauty and the Beast (The Beast). Will would like to thank Kevin, Sam, Dorothy, and everyone involved at SPAC for this incredible opportunity, as well as his family, friends and cast for all the love and support!!! John Edwards - Les (select performances) John is excited to be joining this amazing cast as Les. John started performing on the SPAC stage at the age of eight. Some SPAC credits include: Grandpa Joe (Willy Wonka Jr), Rooster (Annie Jr), Lumiere (Beauty and the Beast Jr), Doug (Descendants) & Plankton (Spongebob Jr). Michael Krebo

Michael Krebo - Les (select performances) Michael is thrilled to be back on Smithtown’s stage joining this cast as Les in Newsies! He started performing for SPAC at the age of 8 and has continued to grow his love of theater in many of their shows. Some of his past SPAC credits include Patrick ( Spongebob the Musical Jr.), Sven (Frozen Jr.), Carlos (Descendants), Willy Wonka ( Willy Wonka Jr,), Emmett (Legally Blonde Jr.) Daddy Warbucks (Annie Jr.), and Gaston (Beauty and the Beast) He extends much gratitude to all of the cast and crew with a special thanks to Kevin, Sam and Dorothy. Michael would like to extend a sincere thanks and all his love to his family and friends who continuously support him!

Jon Rivera

Joseph Pulitzer
Jon Rivera - Joseph Pulitzer Jon is beyond excited to be returning to the Smithtown stage in this fantastic production. He last performed here as Julian Marsh in 42nd St. Past SPAC credits include Emile de Becque (South Pacific), Billy Bigelow (Carousel), Beast/Prince Eric (Beauty and the Beast), Giuseppe Naccarelli (Light in the Piazza), and Joe Kennedy Jr./Jerry (Grey Gardens) among others. Jon would like to thank Kevin and Samantha for this wonderful opportunity to tread the Smithtown boards again, and to do so as part of an incredibly talented cast. “As always, all my love to Mom, Charlie, family, friends, and amazing support system."

Liam Marsigliano - Seitz/Ensemble Liam Marsigliano is a musical theater performance major graduate from The Catholic University of America with a BM in music. Past Long Island performances include “The Producers,” “The Prom,” “Something Rotten,” “Guys and Dolls” at Theater Three, “The Wizard of Oz” at CM and “Elf: The Musical,” “The Lightning Thief,” “Ragtime,” “Urinetown,” “Sunday in the Park with George,” etc. at CAP. Liam would like to thank his girlfriend Savannah, family and friends for their continued love and support.

James O’Connor

James O’Connor - Bunsen/Ensemble James is excited to be making his SPAC debut. Past credits include Saturday Night Fever(Monty) Joseph (Pharoah/Levi), Footloose (Cowboy Bob/Cop), Elf (Walter Hobbs), A Bronx Tale (Rudy the Voice), Spring Awakening (Georg), Into the Woods (The Baker), and The Three Musketeers (Aramis). Brendan Noble - Nunzio, Governor Teddy Roosevelt/Ensemble Brendan is thrilled to reprise the role as Teddy Roosevelt (& others) in Disney’s Newsies at SPAC. This marks their second portrayal of a would-be president on the SPAC stage, having made their SPAC debut as John Quincy Adams in the 2013 production of Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. Becca Martowski - Medda Larkin Rebecca is excited to be on the Smithtown Performimg Arts Center’s stage once again. Originally from Connecticut and studying Performance in Florida, some of her favorite roles she’s undertaken have been Alyssa in The Prom, Tricia in A Chorus Line, Mrs. Phelps in Matilda, Aretha Franklin in Beehive, Mrs. Potts in Beauty and the Beast, and Deloris Van Cartier in Sister Act. She’s also had the joy to be a part of the ensemble of a number of shows including Saturday Night Fever, Mamma Mia, The Bodyguard, Memphis, and The Wizard of Oz. She’d like to thank her family and friends as well as Kevin and Sam for their guidance and support. As one of her favorite childhood shows, being in Newsies has been a dream come true.

Josie McSwane - Spot Conlon, Bowery Beauty, Splasher/Ensemble Josie McSwane is a NY based dancer and performer. She has performed at various theatres on Long Island and danced professionally in NYC, LA and Dallas. Some of her musical credits include “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”, “Mamma Mia” and “The Producers”. She is extremely grateful to be making her Smithtown Performing Arts debut with this incredible cast and team. Kevin Burns

Director and Choreographer
Kevin Burns - Director and Choreographer Kevin Burns is a Long Island based creative. He is delighted to return to SPAC after directing and choreographing last fall’s production of RENT. Kevin began dancing as soon as he could walk; however, it wasn’t until later that he realized his true passion for musical staging and choreography. He has worked with companies and educational institutions across the island as an actor, choreographer, dancer, and educator. Kevin currently works with the incredible talents at Five Towns College, focusing on the principles of tap and jazz dance to further storytelling through dance and movement. Kevin’s theatrical mission is to help shape the talents of all artists and to assist in creating a kinder, more inclusive world for all people through the arts. All of the thanks to Sam, Dorothy, Abigail, Ronnie, Mike, Kelly, and everyone at SPAC for their dedication to bringing this story to life. All of his love to Thumbs. This one is for Aidan. Samantha Free - Musical Director Samantha is thrilled to be making her Mainstage Debut at SPAC! Favorite music directing credits include: The Addams Family, Descendants, and 13 the Musical. When Samantha isn’t music directing, you can find her on the stage! Recently she portrayed the Witch in Into the Woods and Maleficent in Descendants. Thanks to Kevin, Dorothy, and everyone on cast and crew for all their hard work and dedication on this amazing production. Newsies- hit da streets!

Dorothy Haszinger - Production Stage Manager Dorothy holds a BFA in Arts Management from C.W. Post LIU. By day, she is a Production Coordinator for a NYC TV production studio space however, her heart has always been in the theater and she is thrilled and proud to be able to be a part of the team at Smithtown PAC and a part of this wonderful community. Dorothy extends her heartfelt thanks to Mike, Kelly, the Board of Directors and entire SPAC team. Without their dedication, passion and support none of this would be possible. Thank you to her hubby Matt for his love and support of her passions and to you the audience for supporting community theatre! Cheers to this wonderful production team and cast!

Abigail Jackowski

Stage Manager
Abigail Jackowski - Stage Manager Abigail is super excited to be a part of the Smithtown production team and making her MainStage debut at SPAC. Abigail graduated from Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia and has earned a B.A in Arts Management and Theatre. She is currently the stage manager for the theatre arts program at St. Patrick’s Catholic School in addition to her work here at Smithtown. Some college productions include Significant Other (Stage Manager), Peter and the Star Catcher (Stage Manager), and William’s Shakespeare Measure for Measure (Stage Manager). Abby also gained experience as an electrics intern and in design during a summer internship at The Gateways Playhouse. A favorite credit during her time there is The Cher Show. She wants to thank her mom and sister for their continuous support and the SPAC team for giving her this opportunity. Break a leg to the entire cast and crew and now let’s go Seize the Day!
