DIRECTOR'S NOTE

Creating No Ill Feeling in the Goondiwindi community has been a journey filled with creativity, collaboration, and an unwavering appreciation for the arts. This production is a testament to the power of accessible arts opportunities for regional and rural Queensland.

In a community like ours, where resources can be limited, the support from Goondiwindi Regional Council and RADF  has been invaluable. Their contributions have not only made this production possible but have also enriched our cultural landscape, providing a platform for local talent to shine.

Our script, much like our community, thrives on the strength of our connections. In regional communities, where no one is a stranger to another, we rely on supporting each other and working through our challenges together to make triumphs. This musical reflects those very values, showcasing the resilience and unity that define us.

As an audience, we invite you to disconnect from your daily busyness and be absorbed into another world. We chose this world to bring you comedy that is light of heart and relatable in nature. Most of all, we want you to have fun! Laugh, cheer, clap, whistle… your involvement is just as important as our performance!

Our cast and crew have poured their hearts into this project, transforming our vision into a vibrant reality. The laughter, the camaraderie, and the shared passion for theatre have been the driving forces behind every rehearsal since January.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors and supporters. Your belief in the arts and in our community has made all the difference. Together, we celebrate the magic of theatre and the joy it brings to our lives.

Enjoy the show!

Plot Synopsis:

The hospital is abuzz with excitement as the annual Medical Academy Awards Night approaches. But panic sets in when Matron Starchy announces that a spy from the Awards Committee is already among them! As the staff scramble to impress, chaos ensues.

Matron Starchy, the starched disciplinarian, has a secret soft side, especially when it comes to her romance with the dashing Sir Jerry Dunn, the chief surgeon. Meanwhile, Nurse Daphne Trueheart is head over heels for the charming Doctor Randolph Reambo, but their love is constantly interrupted by hospital hijinks.

In Ward Two, the patients are just as colorful. Vera, an amnesiac and suspected bank robber, shares the ward with Elsie, a feisty senior; Myra, a hypochondriac; and Hilary, a snooty patient who thinks she deserves a private room. Add in a squad of bumbling police officers, a loony psychiatrist, and a chorus of singing and dancing nurses, and you've got a prescription for madness!
