Community Music Schools
Toronto Cabaret Productions is proud to donate a portion of proceeds from tonight's show to Community Music Schools of Toronto. an organization that strives to ensure that all young people in the city have access to a high-quality music education. They believe, as do we, that learning music can be a vital and rewarding part of the human experience, promoting self-esteem, socialization, happiness and just about every wonderful thing you can name. As a bonus, young musicians go on to enhance and strengthen their own communities, making this endeavor a win-win for all!
From their website:
"Community Music Schools of Toronto is a registered charity that gives children and youth a rich and rewarding music and social education, by removing the financial obstacle.
"For over 23 years we have seen that the study of music allows young people to flourish creatively, personally and academically...enriching their lives and future prospects. Our students have access to some of Toronto’s best music teachers and a vast array of musical instruments and options.
"Our students’ study everything from classical piano, strings, voice, brass, wind and percussion to electronic music, songwriting and recording. They make music with fellow students, faculty and even the odd celebrity and perform all over the city. We also offer countless leadership opportunities through our Youth Committee and mentorship programs and provide employment experience for junior counsellors at our summer music camps.
"In addition to bringing music to kids in Regent Park and Jane Finch we are also giving a music education to Indigenous students at Wandering Spirit School and young newcomers to Canada."

Mathew is excited to be producing “Old Friends” with both Jill and Louisa, who have inspired him to keep creating cabarets since he founded Toronto Cabaret Productions in 2019. Over the last few years, he has produced three shows, many online cabarets during the pandemic and a continuing monthly open mic night. He has been a featured soloist in several choirs and musical-theatre groups in Toronto. He believes that music is a gift and that you should share it with others. He is thrilled that this show is partnering with Community Music Schools of Toronto, which provides FREE music lessons to children in underserved communities. Everyone who wants to have access to music and perform should be able to do so. He also wants to thank Jasmine, who owns Pravda Vodka Bar, for providing this space at discount, as she believes in supporting local performers an artists. Thank you all for being here tonight.
