Hello, everyone!
I want to thank you on behalf of the creative team and all of our amazing cast for spending your time with us today. We’re so excited for you to see what we’ve been working on since January.
I want to give a huge thank you to the costume team and set team. This took so much time and energy to look for, gather, fit and build all of these. Thank you!!!
Thank you to my sound, lighting and tech crew for everything you did to help make this production come to life.
Thank you to my creative team. It was such a blessing this season working with you all and making the vision become a reality.

Meet the Cast
Talon Brown
Talon is an eighth grader at West Jefferson Middle School. She enjoys reading, traveling, singing, and spending time with her friends. Talon performed in Elf Jr last year as the role of the Macy’s manager. She has also been in several talent shows, including Evergreen’s Got Talent and more recently she performed in the All County Choir. She is so excited to fill the role of Lady Larken and to be in another awesome show at StageDoor!
Cassidy Croxton
Cassidy is a 6th grader at West Jeff Middle, and she is very excited to be in her sixth production with StageDoor! Outside of theater, Cassidy enjoys dance, reading, doing math, skiing, and taking care of her turtle, Cupcake.
Jaden Danhorn
Jaden Danhorn is a 6th grader at West Jefferson Middle School. He enjoys martial arts, sports, skiing, playing his cello and spending time with family and friends. He is an avid scout who loves exploring and learning new things. His prior performances include How I Became A Pirate and Elf Jr.
Emily Davis
Emily is a 7th grader at WJMS. She enjoys taekwondo and being outside. This is her 4th performance at StageDoor. She has played Tweedle Dee in Alice in Wonderland Jr, Amaryllis in The Music Man Jr last spring, and fake Santa in Elf Jr. last fall. Emily is grateful to have good family and friends. She is excited about Once Upon a Mattress and hopes you enjoy the show!
Madeline Ellsworth
Maddy will be 13 on May 13, 2026! She is currently in 6th grade at West Jefferson Elementary School. This will be her third production at StageDoor, making a total of 5 amazing performances in her budding career as an actress. Her prior performances include Peter Pan, The Sound of Music Jr, Music Man Jr. and Elf Jr. In her free time Maddy enjoys drawing, talking and hanging out with friends, swimming and creating anything artistic. She’d like to thank her family and all the people at StageDoor who volunteer their time to make theater a reality for the Conifer Community.
Margo Force
Margo goes to Rocky Mountain Academy of Evergreen. She is 13 years old and this is her 6th show at StageDoor. Margo likes skiing, mountain biking, and dancing. She has been in Mary Poppins, Rock of Ages, Alice in Wonderland, The Music Man, and Elf. She would like to thank her Director Mr. Sage, and her Music Director Ms. Alexandria for always being there for her and for being awesome directors.
Addy Ford
Addy Ford is in sixth grade at West Jefferson Middle School. She enjoys acting, singing, and writing. One show that she has acted in before is Elf Jr. She is so proud of everyone that's worked on the show.
Cora Gough
Cora is an 8th grader at West Jeff Middle School. This is her 4th show with StageDoor. She enjoys theater, swimming, skiing, and crocheting. She love spending time with her family and her dog Hartford.
Taryn Gray
Taryn Gray is a 7th grader at WJMS. She enjoys reading, writing, hanging out with friends, and running. She’s been in Schoolhouse Rock Jr., Annie Jr., Miracle in Miami, Beetlejuice Jr., and Elf. She would like to thank the creative team for all of their help, the cast for being there for her as friends, and her family for allowing her to do another amazing show.
Malana Heublein
Malana is a talented and passionate 14-year-old performer currently in 8th grade. She has previously captivated audiences in productions of Frozen, Seussical the Musical, Into the Woods, Alice in Wonderland, Music Man and Elf Jr. Known for her kindness and radiant personality, Malana is not only dedicated to theater but also loves skiing, crocheting, and spending time with her friends. She brings enthusiasm and warmth to every role she plays, and her love for the stage shines through in her performances.
MJ Keane
MJ Keane or Maureen Keane is 12 years old and she goes to West Jeff Middle School. She enjoys skiing playing viola, and of course, theater. She would like to thank her parents for parenting her. Her prior performances she has done were Frozen Kids and Elf Jr.
Zoey Krupp
Zoey is in seventh grade at West Jefferson Middle School. This is her first StageDoor show. She became interested in theater after taking a performing arts class in middle school. She loves art, reading, snuggling with her two cats, and hanging out with her friends and family! She would like to thank her parents and brother for their support, and her friends for introducing her to StageDoor!
Claire Liscomb
Claire is a 7th grader at West Jefferson Middle School. She enjoys hanging out with her friends, family, and pets, as well as scuba diving, shopping, and baking. She helped with tech for Elf and also has experience with poms and dance. She would like to thank her family, the staff, and Stella and Morgan Stroop for their support with her first performance!
Miles Mitchell
Miles plays Prince Dauntless in this production of Once Upon A Mattress. He is a 12 year old 6th grader who attends West Jefferson Middle School. He enjoys playing basketball and hanging out with his friends. Miles would like to thank his sister, parents, and grandparents for all the love and support they have given him through this process. He also hopes you enjoy the show!
Alice Ogdon
Alice Ogdon is a 6th grader at West Jefferson Middle School. She loves playing volleyball, running and riding horses. Her prior performances include Castles and Dragons, Pure Imagination, Big Bad Musical, Frozen and Elf Jr. Alice would like to thank her parents, her sister Charly and Ren.
Sunny Poe
Sunny is an 8th grader at West Jefferson Middle School. She enjoys writing, listening to music and spending time with friends. Her prior performances include Rock of Ages, Music Man Jr, and Alice in Wonderland Jr. She would like to thank her family for their support.
Meredith Schmid
Meredith is an 8th grader at West Jeff Middle School. Meredith enjoys hanging out with her friends, skiing, and hanging out with her family. Her prior performances include Alice in Wonderland Jr, Music Man Jr, and Elf Jr. This is her last middle school show and she would like to thank her sister, Matilda who got her into theater, along with her mom for all her support, and would like to thank her family as well for all their support! She hopes you enjoy the show!
Hadley Skerl
Hadley Skerl is a sixth grader at West Jeff middle school. Hadley loves to read, write, act, and be with friends. She has been in many shows, like Frozen, Big Bad Musical, and Rainbow Fish. She is grateful to the directors and her family for their support.
Elodie Stotts
Elodie is a sixth grader at West Jeff Middle School. She enjoys playing her violin, performing and drawing. Elodie’s prior performances at StageDoor include, Castles and Dragons, Pure Imagination, Big Bad Musical, Frozen and Elf Jr. She would like to thank Katie Bowlin, Kris Sage, Ms. Alexandria, and the entire creative team for making these shows possible.
Stella Stroop
Stella Stroop is an 8th grader at West Jefferson Middle School, and this is her 10th show at StageDoor. She has been participating since 1st grade, and has played iconic roles such as Alice in Alice in Wonderland Jr, and Jovie in Elf Jr. When she isn't at theater, she loves to sing, draw, and spend time with friends and family. She wants to thank all her castmates and creative team for helping this play come together! She is super excited to be a part this phenomenal show, and she hopes you enjoy!
Macy Vakoc
Macy Vakoc is a sixth grader at West Jeff Middle School. This is Macy’s sixth production at Stagedoor. You may have seen her in Castles and Dragons, Junior Broadway Review, Big Bad Musical, Frozen Kids, and Elf Jr. In her free time, Macy enjoys playing piano, volleyball, skiing, and painting. She would like to thank her family, castmates, and the creative team for giving her so much support. She thanks you for coming and hopes you enjoy the show.
Katie Waldron
Katie is 13. She is a 7th grader at West Jefferson Middle School. Other than theater Katie enjoys TSA (Technology Student Association) and playing piano. This is her 7th show at Stagedoor. She would like to thank her family, friends, and everyone who helped make this show happen.
Emily Walker
Emily Walker is a 6th grade student at West Jeff Middle School. She enjoys swimming, acting, singing, drawing and playing violin. This will be her 6th performance at Stage Door. She would like to thank Kris, Ms. Alexandria, Katie and everyone else who has helped make this play so fun! She would also like to thank the other actors for being so amazing!
Sage Wartgow
Her Most Supreme, Absolutely Unquestionable Majesty Sage Wartgow is positively delighted to rule the kingdom as the magnificent and mildly terrifying Queen Aggravain. This marks her triumphant rise to the throne after many years of intensive royal training, including perfecting the art of dramatic sighing, issuing unreasonable demands, and declaring things “simply unacceptable.” Before sabotaging potential princesses, 8th grader Sage in her 10th production at StageDoor appeared as the grumpy Walter Hobbs in Elf, the villainous Charlie Cowell in The Music Man, the maniacal March Hair in Alice in Wonderland, and the greedy Franz in Rock of Ages. She hopes her portrayal of Aggravain will be yet another milestone in her increasingly unhinged acting resume. She would like to thank the cast and crew for their loyal service to the crown and her family for funding the royal treasury (also known as Starbucks and rides to rehearsal). Long live the Queen!
Sienna Winters
This show is Sienna Winters’ 8th show at StageDoor, and her 10th show in total. She is in 8th grade and is going to be attending Mullen High School in the fall. She wants to thank her fellow actors and actresses, as well as the creative team, for their hard work on this show. She hopes you enjoy Once Upon a Mattress!!
Kris Sage
Kris graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver with a Bachelor's degree in Music, and a minor in Theatre. His senior thesis was on music and autism. Kris has over thirty years of experience singing, dancing and acting in choirs and theatrical productions. He learned from some of the best teachers and conductors in the country, including a Grammy judge, and an American Choral Directors Association Hall of Fame conductor. He was the music director for Northland Chorale from 2016-2018 and assistant music director at West Bowles Community Church from 2016-2020. He was the choir and drama teacher at West Jefferson Middle School from 2016-2025 and is currently the Choir/Theatre Director at Ken Caryl Middle School in Littleton.
This production of Once Upon A Mattress marks the 20th show he’s directed or music directed since joining the StageDoor family in 2017.
Kris thanks his wife for always letting him toss ideas around, these amazing kids for always challenging him to improve as a director, the creative team for helping this vision become reality, StageDoor Theatre for giving him the opportunity to share his passion for theatre with the kids of this community, and you all for spending your time with us today.
Alexandria Bernhardt
Alexandria Bernhardt is a graduate of Regis University, with a Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance, a minor in Peace and Justice, and a Leadership certificate. Alexandria has studied vocal pedagogy and has a passion for teaching students to not only become great performers, but also to be aware of the way their instrument works, and how to be a well rounded performer. With nineteen years of singing experience, her performance credits include Judy in 9 to 5, Rosie in Mamma Mia!, Marie in Cinderella, Magenta/Usherette in The Rocky Horror Show, and Ensemble/Portia Understudy in Something Rotten!. Alexandria has been directing and music directing musicals for the last three years, and has taught lessons privately for the past few years. She teaches private, voice, piano, and ukulele at DaVinci Center for Musical Arts in Broomfield, CO. Some teaching credits include Music Man Kids, Alice in Wonderland Jr., Frozen Kids, and Anastasia, actively directing at the lovely Stagedoor Theatre. Alexandria absolutely adores our amazing Junior Company, and cannot wait for you to step into this joyful story. Alexandria would like to thank everyone at StageDoor for their confidence in her, trust, and support. She would also like to thank her fiancé for his support and listening ear for endless silly student stories.
Katie Bowlin
Katie Bowlin is a senior at Conifer High School, and Once Upon a Mattress Jr. is her sixth show choreographing, and her fourth show getting to work with Mr. Sage and the Junior Company! Previous credits include The Music Man Jr., Alice in Wonderland Jr., The Big Bad Musical, Rock of Ages Jr., and Castles and Dragons.
In addition to choreography, Katie has participated in 23 shows here at StageDoor and is very excited to make her 24th with Shrek in the spring. Recently, you may have seen Katie as Ariel in The Little Mermaid, Elle Woods in Legally Blonde, Eurydice in Hadestown, Betty Haynes in White Christmas, and Lily in Anastasia.
Katie would love to give a very special thanks to her best friends on the creative team during this amazing show and to the entirety of StageDoor for making this the most wonderful place on Earth!
Ericka Adams
Ericka is currently an 18-year-old senior at Conifer High School. Once Upon a Mattress Jr. is her fourth show stage managing and her tenth show working in tech overall. Including Once Upon a Mattress Jr., Ericka has stage managed Alice in Wonderland Jr., The Music Man Jr., and most recently Elf Jr.
Along with working backstage, Ericka has previously acted in 18 shows at StageDoor, most notably as Ursula in The Little Mermaid and the Dowager Empress in Anastasia. Ericka is so proud of these kids for all the incredible work they have put into making this show possible and is so excited for everyone to see this incredibly talented cast!
She would like to give a special thanks to the rest of her peers and friends on the creative team for making such a fun show possible.
Charlie Van Beek
Charlie is a senior at Conifer High School. Once Upon a Mattress is Charlie’s second show student-directing; in addition to serving as student director, she has stage managed six other junior company shows.
Along with being backstage or in the audience, Charlie is also an actor and has performed in a total of 24 shows, with one more upcoming. Charlie is so proud of these kids and all of the work they have put into this production to make it amazing! She would also like to give a special shout-out to Kris Sage and Alexandria for being so wonderful to work with.
Charlie has had an amazing time working with all the kids this season and hopes you enjoy the show!
