Meet the Company
Jackson Bell
The Stage Manager
Jackson Bell is an upcoming Senior at Murray State University and is majoring in Theatre with a History Minor. He has been involved in PiP for 16 years and has loved every minute that he gets to spend in the theatre. Some of his past roles include; Bert (Mary Poppins), Orin Scrivello (Little Shop of Horrors), Banquo (Macbeth), Luke/Ares ( The Lightning Thief) and many others. He would like to thank his amazing family for supporting his dream and his wonderful girlfriend, Quinn, for making him a better man. Enjoy the show!!
Brian Johnson
Dr. Gibbs
Brian Johnson is originally from a small farming community in Iowa. He is pleased to be making his Playhouse debut as Doc Gibbs. He has been involved in community theatre since 2010 throughout NW Tennessee and West Kentucky. He now resides in Greenfield, TN with his wife, Vicki, and cats and dogs. He is in his 25th year teaching Psychology at the University of Tennessee at Martin where he has served as the Department Chair since July 2024.
Lucy Pearl J.
Joe Crowell, Jr.
Lucy is twelve years old, and this is her second play ever! She is super excited to be in this play! She enjoys reading and making friends! During her free time, she loves to play with her black-and-white cat, Epi! She loves the color pink!
Carter Parks
Howie Newsome
Carter is a senior theater major at Murray state and has been seen in productions like Waitress, Addams Family, and Big Fish. He loves creating music and making people laugh and he hopes you enjoy this heartfelt show!
Kailey Brown
Mrs. Gibbs
Kailey Brown is excited to be on the Playhouse stage again alongside a stellar cast and crew. A lover of good stories, she is thrilled to bring one as beautiful as "Our Town" to life at the theatre. She thanks her family and friends for their unwavering support. She hopes that each audience member leaves with the revelation that their life matters, and that even the 'least important' days are important enough.
Maribeth Crawford
Mrs. Webb
Maribeth, originally from Clinton, MS, teaches voice at Murray State. She recently played the role of the Witch in Into the Woods at Playhouse. She is excited to return to Playhouse, and perform in her favorite play with her favorite people….her family!
Jordan Taylor
George Gibbs
Elin D.
Rebecca Gibbs
I moved to Murray from Atlanta, Georgia in third grade so this is my first season with Playhouse in the Park and my fifth PIP show!
My favorite line in Our Town is, “Mama, do you know what I love most in the world-do you?-Money.”
I love playing the part of Rebecca Gibbs in Our Town because I connect with her curiosity about the big world outside of Grover’s Corners.
Greyson C.
Wally Webb
Greyson is a 6th grader at Murray Middle School who loves football, fishing, and almost anything outdoors. He has been with Playhouse through several summer camps and youth productions, and he looks forward to bringing his playful spirit to the stage as Wally!
Violet J.
Emily Webb
Violet is 17 years old, a senior in high school, and a part-time student at MSU. Our Town is her 9th production at Playhouse, with Emily Webb being her first lead role in a mainstage production. When she's not onstage, you can find Violet painting, teaching herself guitar, jamming out to 80s rock and pop, or practicing ballet.
Chris Poor
Professor Willard
Chris Poor has been active at Playhouse for about 15 years or so, starting with recording music for "The Hobbit," and later playing Patsy in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," and Jesus in "Jesus Christ Superstar." He would probably audition for more shows if his profession allowed a more regular schedule. His involvement in 'Our Town' grew out of a deep love for the director, and admiration for her devotion to making this play the best it can be. As an aspiring playwright, he has come to appreciate the beauty of this simple play in which everything of importance happens.
Donald Fleming
Mr. Webb
Donald has been involved in theatre since before he had wrinkles. He loves everything about theatre, but couldn't tell you any shows or stars on Broadway. He especially loves seeing new faces on the Playhouse stage, and hopes to see all of you in the audience!
Patty Stephens
Mrs. Soames
Patty is a recent transplant to Murray from Phoenix, AZ, where she was part of the theatre community. She is thrilled to make her debut at Playhouse in the Park as Mrs. Soames in Our Town! Patty’s favorite role to date is as Mary Todd Lincoln in the one-woman show, Pass My Imperfections Lightly By (nominated for an AriZoni award for Outstanding Production & Outstanding Performance by a Lead Actress). Other favorite roles have been Apple Annie in Lady for a Day, Helga ten Dorp in Deathtrap (nominated for an AriZoni award for Outstanding Performance by a Supporting Actress), Miriam in Beau Jest, Kate in All My Sons, Irma in Picnic, the Nurse in Romeo & Juliet and Marmee in Little Women. Patty thanks the cast and crew for welcoming her into their community and all their hard work and commitment to bringing you our very best on stage.
Katelyn Canter
choir member, townsperson
I've always been interested in theatre, but never had the confidence for it until last year when I auditioned for my first play, Frankenstein. I had a blast and I hope to be involved in many future plays. In my spare time I enjoy doing all kinds of art and playing video games. I love you, Dad!
Aubrey C.
choir member, townsperson
Aubrey is an eighth grader at Murray Middle School who plays volleyball and cheers. She has been with Playhouse through several summer camps and youth productions. Her first mainstage production was Mary Poppins and she is thrilled to join the cast of Our Town!
Marci Jo Gardner-Edmonds
choir member, townsperson, audience member, woman among the dead
Marci is a beloved face and presence at Playhouse! Some of her finer qualities and talents include, but aren't limited to:
•Playhouse veteran.
•Last seen in The Play That Goes Wrong.
•Does offstage stuff (props, camp staff, directs Old Duffers and Powder Puffers).
•Stands well in the back (tall).
When she's not onstage in Our Town as part of the choir and townsfolk, she's hoisting chairs, tables, and set pieces backstage and making sure the cast doesn't trip over them in the dark.
Jenni Hitt
choir member, townsperson, audience member, woman among the dead
J: jello
E: eggs
N: neco wafers
N: nectarines
I: ice ice baby
Alice Reinhardt
choir member, townsperson, audience member, woman among the dead
Alice first got involved with Playhouse in 1980 as a new resident of Murray. She immediately jumped into Playhouse's family by costuming the Good Doctor, I Do-I Do, and Wizard of Oz. Her Playhouse debut was the Wicked Witch that same year, followed by assisting with the Murray High drama team in their production of Once Upon a Mattress. She took a lengthy hiatus to raise a family, and an empty nest was good incentive for Playhouse reinvolvement in 2023 when she played the role of Dot in Savannah Sipping Society. She loves theatre because it can help shape our understanding of life, by allowing us to view emotions, experiences, and even physical space through another person's vision. She believes Thornton Wilder captured this vision in Our Town. It is a privilege to be a part of this production and she is hoping to participate in more Playhouse activities.
Chesney V.
choir member, townsperson, woman among the dead
Chesney is a Junior at Dresden High School. This is her first Playhouse in the Park Play. She was a puppeteer in Alice in Wonderland with Weakley Playhouse. She was also involved with Playhouse in the Park's after school program, Box Of Frogs, this past school year. They did two short versions of Snow White where she played the Evil Queen in the Comedia version and a dwarf/zanny in the Film Noir version. She is really excited to be a part of OUR TOWN!
Charlie Heeke
Simon Stimson
Charlie is a veteran when it comes to Playhouse - you may know them from their last role as Christopher Wren in the Mousetrap - and is excited to bring Simon Stimson alive in Our Town.
This is Charlie's second straight play. It has been the most challenging due to the mundane-ness and lack of props, however, that leaves space for real, raw emotional space. It's the small things in life that have most importance and Simon has "pushed me to embrace that; the whole play has. And I hope you do too."
*Please note all character traits are fictional and do not apply to the actor.
Luke Crawford
Constable Warren
Luke is a CPA who found a calling to the stage in his 40s, joining Playhouse for his first show ever as General Waverly in White Christmas. This is his third show with Playhouse, and he absolutely loves the community and camaraderie he has found with this company!
Camille S.
Si Crowell
Camille's favorite color is seafoam green, least favorite texture is anything rough, and if she was a taco topping it would be nuts on a Chaco Taco because she is nutty!
Charlotte J.
townsperson
Hi. My name is Charlotte. I am ten years old and this is my first play at Playhouse. I like to read and I love my cat.
Barb Waller
townsperson, woman among the dead
Barb is no stranger to Playhouse, but this is the first she's been on the stage instead of behind the scenes! Barb says, "My experience with PIP in the past has been making and altering costumes. I am so excited about being in this production. My hobbies are oil painting of old tobacco barns n raising chickens n making cinnamon rolls. I am so happy to get to know the great cast we have for Our Town."
Chase Boggess
Sam Craig, baseball player
Chase is a newcomer to Playhouse! He says, "This is my first time performing in a play and I couldn’t be more excited! Everyone’s done a great job prepping for the show."
Josh Anderson
baseball player, Mr. Carter
I've been participating in theatre since middle school way out in Pennsylvania. I'm glad to have found a place to continue one of my hobbies.
Micah Patton
baseball player, townsperson
This is Micah's first show at Playhouse! He's risen to the challenge of stepping outside his comfort zone. He's never lost a game of chess, and attracts stray cats in his spare time.
Brad Brauser
Joe Stoddard
Brad didn't plan on auditioning for this show, but he was begged into it and then promptly forgotten about by Bridget. He puts up with way too much, isn't thanked nearly enough, and is everyone's favorite castmember thanks to his doleful eyes and sassy persona. Sometimes he uses his beard for smuggling contraband.
