Neil Simon (Author)
American playwright and screenwriter Neil Simon (1927-2018) is widely regarded as one of the most successful, prolific, and performed playwrights in theatre history. In addition to plays, Mr. Simon wrote film adaptations of some of his own plays, as well as many TV series, teleplays, motion pictures and books. He received more Academy and Tony award nominations than any other writer, and won the Pulitzer Prize, many Emmy awards, and several Tony awards including a special award for Overall Contribution to the Theatre.

Alan Goodman - Sam/Jesse/Roy Alan is delighted to join this wonderful team in a Neil Simon classic. After a long career as a TV creator, producer, and writer, and creative roles at networks and his ad agency, Alan started acting in South Florida in 2023. Dramas: “Terms of Endearment,” “Go Down, Moses,” “The Temperamentals,” “My Old Lady.” Comedies: “Disco Detective,” “Vetting,” “The Long Weekend,” “Are The Lights Still On In Paris?” Musicals: “She Loves Me,” “Merrily We Roll Along.”

Lory Reyes - Karen/Muriel/Norma Lory Reyes is happy to be back at PPTOPA after having just appeared as Mrs. Stancliffe in Sex Please We’re Sixty! Appearing on stage locally for over 27 years, she has also done commercials, infomercials and dubbed an English voice in many telenovelas. A few favorite roles are Granny (Pippin), Electra (Gypsy), Nurse Ratched (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest), M’Lynn and Clairee (Steel Magnolias), Doris (Same Time, Next Year), Lola (Damn Yankees) and Mrs. Banks in Mary Poppins, the Musical. My heart to my husband, Richard, for over three decades of his love and support.

Ashley Goehmann - Jean/Mimsey Ashley Goehmann is a senior at Nova Southeastern University studying Communication & Theatre. Steven Guez - Bellhop/Bordon With a foundation in acting from Southern Methodist University, Steven Guez initially stepped away from the stage to serve as a registered nurse during the challenging years of the pandemic. This period of dedication to healthcare ultimately illuminated a profound truth: the indelible call of performance remained his true passion. Now fully immersed back in the vibrant world of theater, Steven is actively collaborating with fellow theater artists and companies. He is also a dedicated board member with Brévo Theatre, contributing to the organizational health and artistic vision of the company. This is Steven’s PPTOPA’s debut.

Nicholas Palazzo - Waiter Nicholas Palazzo is incredibly excited to be returning to the PPTOPA stage in Plaza Suite! He graduated from Florida State University with a BA in Theater. Some previous credits include: Officer Lockstock in Urinetown, Juror No. 5 in 12 Angry Men, Fennyman in Shakespeare In Love, and Dr. Chasuble in The Importance of Being Earnest. He would like to thank Jerry and Wendy for the opportunity, as well as his friends and family for their continued support!

Jerry Jensen

Director / Sound Designer
Jerry Jensen - Director / Sound Designer Jerry Jensen (Director) is pleased to direct at PPTOPA for the first time, and bring to new life a Neil Simon Classic, a playwright he’s always admired and sat next to him at one his Broadway previews and absorbed a lot. Jerry has directed several of his plays including Biloxi Blues, Rumors and The Goodbye Girl Musical. Other directorial credits include How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying, My Fair Lady, The Lion in Winter, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and several Florida and World Premiers. As Executive Director of the Wichita Center for the Arts, Jerry oversaw the Midwest Premiers of Stephen Schwartz’s Rags and Children of Eden and the World Premiere of the eventual Broadway musical, Jane Eyre. Jerry has acted in over 60 plays in 10 states, including Can! Can!, Cabaret, The Marriage of Bette and Boo, Much Ado About Nothing, and the Midwest Premiers of For Reasons That Remain Unclear and Rags. In South Florida, he’s performed in 1776 and Footloose, the Musical (Actors Playhouse), Doubt (Main Street), The Normal Heart (Public), 12 Angry Men (New Theatre), A Class Act (JCat), and many others. Thanks to everyone on stage and backstage at PPTOPA for your hard work, good spirits and dedication in presenting this production.

Kim Pitman - Marketing Director Kim has worked as Backstage Manager and in Front of the House. She is in charge of Marketing, Group Ticket Sales and the PPTOPA website. Lisa McFadden-Murphy - Stage Manager / Props Manager Lisa thanks her daughter, Kaelea, for bringing her back to theater. She has had enormous joy working on every show since Man of La Mancha in 2014. Her roles have included Props Manager, Backstage Crew, Backstage Manager, Lighting Operator and Stage Manager. She has loved working with every cast and crew and looks forward to what PPTOPA has in store for the future.

In her "other life," Dr. Dana Fredebaugh is an associate professor in special education at Nova Southeastern University.
