Director's Notes
What is a Puff? Someone who is loyal and persistent. In Matt Cox's play, you often hear the Puffs called failures. But what is a failure? Failure is defined as a lack of success. So you can only fail until you succeed. Through failure, we learn. We gain skills and even connect with people who offer help along the way.
During rehearsals of Puffs: or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic by Matt Cox, I hope the cast and crew have all discovered that little bit of Puff that is in them. The one who never gives up, even when things seem difficult. The little bit that finds hope and joy and loyalty in those that surround them. Being a Puff means being a family.
Part of our family is those who have helped us along the way. I want to make sure I thank those who have helped not only with this production but with our Theater Program. Jereme Harlan for building the set and holding down the household while I have been in rehearsals. Liz Trapp for all of her volunteer work with our costumes. The parents of the cast and crew, who have volunteered to organize feeding us, running concessions, and taking tickets. I want to thank the Globe Theater for running our advertisement for us. Mrs Harris and Mr Weller for all their support of the Theater program. Finally, a huge THANK YOU to Kevin Williams, Cody Bingham, Bill Rench, Michael Tipton, and Glen Williams for volunteering to pour the cement for what will soon be our new storage shed for lumber and tools.
If I missed anyone, I apologize. It takes a village to put on a show, and I am so grateful for the village we have established.
All My Best,
Jennifer Harlan

Cast
Seniors
Gavin File- Narrator/Zach Smith

Gavin is excited for his senior year of theater! This is his first time performing the play, but he is no stranger to theater. Gavin loves to do musicals inside and outside of the school.
Taylor Ferris- Megan Jones
Taylor Ferris has been a devoted presence in theater throughout all four years of high school, beginning as a freshman working on mics and sound for the play Clue, then being a Poppy and an Ozian in the Wizard of Oz musical, and continuing to balance both technical support and acting parts such as Helen in Bye Bye Birdie, Smee in Peter and the Starcatcher, and Ernestina Money in Hello Dolly. Her passion for theatre extends beyond acting, with contributions as a wardrobe lady, prop handler, and photographer in BCAT productions, culminating in a senior year role as Megan Jones in Puffs, all while planning to pursue Graphic Design with a theatre minor at Indiana Wesleyan University
Chloe Dennison- First Headmaster/ Xavia Jones/ Ms. Babble

Chloe is a first-time actor in Greenville High School's Fall play. However, she has previously acted in musicals. She enjoys being in Theater, choir, and participating in ceramics, drawing, and painting classes. She also loves being involved with clubs like the art club and the culture club. She likes hanging out with friends and family.
Max Edwards- Uncle Dave, Clumsy Longbottom, Mr Bagman

Max enjoyed 2 years of soccer, 4 years of tennis, and participating in the Marching Band. Max participated in the Wizard of Oz production and is enjoying being back on stage in Puffs. He plans to attend Kaskaskia College in the fall, playing on their Tennis and is undecided what he wants to do in the future.
Ella Jurgena- Leanne, Seamus, Professor Turban, Mr Nick

Ella is currently a senior at GHS. She has had the privilege of being a part of the fall play all four years of high school. Her previous roles include the Singing Telegram Girl in "Clue", Fred Narracot in "And Then There Were None", the dashing Black Stache in "Peter and the Starcatcher", and this year's Puffiest of Puffs, Leanne. She has also thoroughly enjoyed participating in the past three spring musicals. When not on the stage, Ella is in the band, choir, select choir, and a member of the Comets Dance Team. Ella has also been in color guard for four years, and this year she was co-captain with her fellow Puff, Taylor. In the summer, when not spending time with her family, friends, or her dog Dodger, Ella enjoys being part of the BCAT Teen productions and helping out behind the scenes for BCAT Junior. After graduation, Ella plans on attending SIUE, majoring in psychology with a minor in theatre. When the final curtain closes on Puffs, Ella is looking forward to being in this year's spring musical and going on the music department's trip to Disney.
Coleson Hoffmann- Stage Manager

Coleson Hoffmann is a dedicated student who has spent four years in Scholastic Bowl, Band, and Choir, while also strengthening his musicianship through Jazz Band and Select Choir. Onstage, he has played the Policeman in Bye Bye Birdie, the Prawn King and a Pirate in Peter and the Starcatcher, and Stanley in Hello, Dolly! He also worked as a stage manager for Descendants (BCAT). Coleson continues to grow in the performing arts, plans to join the upcoming spring musical, and intends to pursue Music Education at Greenville University.
Caden Brabson- Stage Hand

During my four years at GHS, Caden has participated in all the musicals and a summer musical through BCAT Teens, several times as a member of the stagehands and as a member of the pit orchestra providing live music for the spring musical. Caden has also been a member of the band, choir, jazz band, and select choir; being in these ensembles has allowed me to perform a wide variety of music. Caden plans to go to SIU Edwardsville to study Music Education and eventually teach band/orchestra to high schoolers or college students.
Izabelle Kough- Stage Hand

Izabelle has participated in many of the productions through her

They plan to attend Kaskaskia College in the fall and then transfer to Greenville University to major in Special Education for Elementary.
