Meet the Company

Ariella Salinas Fiore

Nurse/Lady Montague/Friar John/Lady
Ariella (she/her/ella) is super excited to be stretching her Shakespeare muscles again, especially with this funny (or sad, up to you!) version. She was last seen on this stage as part of the New Works Festival last year in Beheading Columbus. She’s one of those rare Los Angeles natives, born and raised. Acting since she was 3, she’s recently added intimacy director/coordinator to her toolbox, and was honored to serve in that regard for this production. Many thanks to Sam, the production team, and her M’s. www.ariellafiore.com

Kirsten Helen Hansen

Rosaline/ Friar
Kirsten Helen Hansen is a recent graduate of the MFA program at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. She is excited to be performing Shakespeare again in front of live audiences!

Kalond Irlanda

Romeo
And in this corner, standing at an average height of 5'9"... originally hailing from Colorado, is Kalond Irlanda. This hopeless romantic is incredibly grateful to be here in the moment with you; he truly believes that the world needs art now more than ever. Outside of the acting world, Kalond is a True Sidereal Astrologer, a reflexologist, and a Superman fanatic. If you're a theatre buff, his favorite roles to date have been Emcee in Cabaret and Beast in Beauty and the Beast. Special shoutout to his beloved Rose, "for life without her would be a world with no Sun."

Garret Kinstler

Tybalt, Paris, and Prince
Garret Kinstler received a Bachelor of Fine Arts for Musical Theater from The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles this past Spring. This is Garret’s first theater show since graduating and is extatic to have found such a wonderful theatre family at the Morgan-Wixson Theatre! In his free time ,away from the theatre, Garret loves working out, playing video games, watching sports, and calling his momma who lives back home in Lewiston, Minnesota!

Damian Luciano

Mercutio
Damian is a graduate of AMDA College and Conservatory in New York City and is beyond excited to be making his Los Angeles Stage debut alongside this incredible cast and crew. He hopes the audience enjoys the final product as much as the team enjoyed the process of getting there. He also hopes he is still on stage after Act 3, Scene 1. Totally up to you guys though. No pressure.

Mirai

Juliet
Mirai is so excited to be back on the MWT stage in this dream role with the dreamiest of dream teams! Thank you to Samantha for this opportunity, and the whole cast and crew for being so fun to play with and easy to trust on this crazy ride. Love & thanks to her real-life Romeo, Dean, who so graciously shares her with Theatre. Last seen as Kitty in MWT's The Drowsy Chaperone (Scenie Award), Mirai also produced 2021's Solo Series and Inaugural New Works Festival. Mirai is an on-camera (Scandal, Teen Wolf, Deputy) and voice over actor (hear her in an exciting videogame this Fall!) as well as an audiobook narrator. Come say hi @hi.mirai!

Javon Willis

Benvolio
Javon Willis is delighted to be making his debut at the Morgan-Wixon Theatre. Recent credits include Pick Of The Vine (Little Fish Theatre), Ragtime, and Rockin Robin Hood(Kentwood Players). When he is off the stage he is behind the camera working toward his Film Degree from LACC and Is currently in Pre-Production of His 2nd Short Film. He would like to extend his thanks and Gratitude to the people that inspired him to keep going and always believed in him through it all.

Melodie S. Rivers

Lady Capulet

Melodie S. Rivers

Lady Capulet
Favorite roles include Jean in David Lindsay-Abaire’s Good People (Torrance Theatre Company), and Dionysus in a modernized version of Aristophanes’ Frogs (Infinite Jest Theatre Company). She is thrilled to be part of this profoundly talented cast and crew. Working with director Samantha Barrios has been a true pleasure, and a priceless learning experience.

Natalie Kahn

Nurse
Natalie Kahn is excited to be back on the Morgan Wixson stage. You might have seen her in The Wedding Singer a few summers ago as the vibrant Angie or more recently in Cinderella. Other fave performances have been in Shrek! The Musical, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Into the Woods. When she isn’t acting on stage or reading as many books as she can get her hands on she runs the Youth Drama program for the City of El Segundo. Natalie would like to thank the Gilmore Girls, The Ripped Bodice Bookstore, and The Dessert Person Cookbook for getting her through the past couple years and back on the stage.

T.S. Barrios

Director
Samantha Barrios (she.her/ella) (Director) is thrilled to be making her MWT mainstage debut with this capricious, silly, insightful journey of Romeo & Juliet….Choose Your Own Ending!! She actually first began her love affair with Shakespeare in a high school production of R&J and has been obsessed ever since. She is forever grateful to Luis for the introduction and Bruce for unlocking the magic. Currently, she is serving on the board of the Morgan-Wixson Theatre. Notable past productions have included Beheading Columbus, the premier of Destiny: The Napoleon and Josephine Story, An Ideal Husband, The Isle of Dogs, Crimes of the Heart, and the Youth Jubilee at Radio City Music Hall. You can also find Sam on the stage and film (check out the Caesar and Otto Series). She was most recently seen in the Sacred Fool’s world premiere of Deadly (Minnie Williams) and in Pippin (Leading Player). Sam was born in Venezuela, raised in the Sooner state and is part NYer. Samantha received her BFA from Webster Conservatory. Let us bring love and light into this world that so desperately needs it. Thank you for your endless support. Loves and hugs!! Melodie S. Rivers

This performer-director-designer-instructor has most recently enjoyed exploring the advantages and limitations of online theatre. Her two favorite roles include Jean in David Lindsay-Abaire’s Good People (Torrance Theatre Company), and Dionysus in a modernized version of Aristophanes’ Frogs (Infinite Jest Theatre Company). Working with director Samantha Barrios was a perfect introduction to Morgan Wixson Theatre.

Bouket Fingerhut-Grant

Rehearsal Stage Manager & Production ASM
Bouket is so excited to be working at Morgan Wixson again, making this her 5th production here. With a rich background in commercial and television producing, she was eager to transition back to where her heart lies, live theater. From performing, costuming, to Stage Managing and Choreography, Bouket has tackled pretty much every department in theater, and is excited to continue growing her experience here with such a wonderful community.

RachaelMaye Aronoff

Production Stage Manger
Rachael Maye is thrilled to be stage managing her first production here at the Morgan-Wixson theatre. She graduated with honors from the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. She is an experienced stage manager and performer, having produced and acted in productions in Liverpool, Cincinnati, and here in Los Angeles. Most recently, she starred in Sins at the 2022 Hollywood Fringe.

Branda Lock

Dramaturg
Originally from the Washington, D.C. theatre region, I made the big move to Los Angeles and have since continued my acting and directing habit in the city of angels. Fortunate to have realized my vocation at a young age when I stepped onto the stage as the only kindergartner in the elementary school talent show singing "Skinny Marinky Dinky Dink". The acting, singing, and directing bug bit and ever since I've never been able to resist the joy of sharing my art on the boards.

Melanie Anthony

Resident Dramaturg
After serving as Dramaturg for MWT’s Inaugural New Works Festival, Melanie was elected to the Board where she continues progressive efforts for the theater, serves as co-chair of the New Works & Specials committee, and is on the marketing team. Melanie is a 2021 Kennedy Center-LMDA Dramaturgy Intensive Fellow, KCACTF National Dramaturgy Fellow, KCACTF Regional Dramaturg awardee, and was selected to the 25th annual ATHE Dramaturgy Debut Panel. Recent dramaturgical projects: consultation for award-winning documentary short films and creator and collaborator for the 2022 LMDA international conference panel “Artists, Advocates & Ambassadors - How Early Career Dramaturgs Create Art and Help Define Community Through Community Theater.” Her dramaturgical view also reflects lived experience as an award-winning documentarian, museum educator, STEAM instructor-advocate-activist, local social justice participant, mom, caregiver and concerned voter. Thrilled to be working again with this brilliant team to support R&J!

Melodie S. Rivers & T. Samantha Barrios

Scenic Design and Set Dressing
Award-winning design team Melodie S Rivers and Samantha Barrios are at it again. Audiences may fondly remember the lavish Chiltern home from AN IDEAL HUSBAND or the Upper West side New York apartment in MATCH. In this show, you might get a touch of nostalgia from the marbling reminiscent of DANGEROUS OBSESSION. And hopefully coming soon, their first film collaboration in the short OPHELIA. Thank you to Bouket who joined the team to make sure that everything was safe, secure, and beautiful. Like always, there are easter eggs, can you find them all? Just remember, it's all in the details.
