Skeleton Sam Lore
The Curse of Skeleton Sam
In the hush of the dusk when the shadows grow long,
And the wind hums low like a funeral song,
There’s a stir in the graveyard, a rustle, a slam—
It’s the rattling rise of Skeleton Sam.
Each Halloween night, like clockwork and dread,
He crawls from the earth with a grin on his head.
Bones creak and clatter, eyes glow with flame,
He’s back from the black—let the dead stake their claim.
With top hat askew and a cane made of bone,
He twirls through the fog with a ghoulish tone.
A tap of his foot and the tombs all respond,
As spirits and fiends drift out from beyond.
They dance on their graves, they waltz with despair,
Their laughter a chill in the crisp midnight air.
But soon comes the moment—the real reason Sam
Awakens to lead this infernal jam.
He spins, and he shouts, and the moon turns to red,
As each friend relives how they ended up dead.
The gallows appear, and the fire takes form,
A noose, a scream, a thunderstorm.
But Sam doesn’t mourn—no tears in his sockets—
He laughs as he jingles the chains in his pockets.
“Tonight,” he exclaims, “we dance through the pain!
Tomorrow we sleep in the cold dirt again.”
And so with a bow, and a spine-snapping spin,
He fades with his friends to the silence within.
Till next year’s night, when the nightmares rehearse—
Skeleton Sam and his Halloween curse.
