Addie Uselton

Geraldine and Joe in Great American Melting Pot
Addie Uselton - Geraldine and Joe in Great American Melting Pot Addie Uselton is 11 years old. Addie attends Columbiana Middle School. Addie is cast as Sun and Geraldine, but you may have seen her in Matilda Jr, Frozen Jr, and Beauty is a Beast. When Addie is at home, she likes to draw and read. Addie’s favorite thing about camp is everything!

Callie Burnham

Assistant Stage Manager
Callie Burnham is 12 years old. Callie is homeschooled. This is Callie’s first theatre show and is our Assistant Stage Manager, so you won’t see her onstage but she is working hard backstage! When Callie is at home, she likes to watch YouTube and ride horses. Callie’s favorite thing she has done at camp is painting props.

Cat Methvin

Shulie in Interplanet Janet
Cat Methvin is 9 years old. Cat is homeschooled. Cat is cast as Shulie in Interplanet Janet, but you may have seen her as Sven in Frozen Jr, Snoopy in A Charlie Brown Christmas, and Wasp in Gulliver's Travels. When Cat is at home, she likes to sleep, relax, play Roblox and Gorilla Tag. Cat’s favorite things about camp are her friends and the directors.

Charlee Hillin

George in Three is a Magic Number and Joe in Conjunction Junction
Charlee Hillin is 14 years old. Charlee attends Chelsea High School. Charlee is cast as Joe in Conjunction Junction and George in 3 is a Magic Number, but you may have seen her as Iago in Aladdin Kids and Frankie in Death by Dessert. When Charlee is at home, she likes to watch musicals and Star Wars, sing, and read. Charlee’s favorite thing about camp is learning the show and also making friends.

DT Mizell

Elvis soloist, Congressman, and Geraldo
DT Mizell is 11 years old. DT attends Columbiana Middle School. DT is cast as the Elvis soloist in Do the Circulation, and Geraldo in Interjections but you may have seen him in Matilda Jr, as Butler in Frozen, himself in Magic School Bus, and in Gulliver's Travels. When DT is at home, he likes to play Fortnite, make videos, play Call of Duty, and watch YouTube. DT’s favorite thing about camp is lunch.

Elias Lambert

Mars
Elias Lambert is 7 years old. Elias is homeschooled. Elias is cast as Mars, but you may have seen him in Gulliver’s Travels. When Elias is at home, he likes to watch TV and play Twister. Elias’ favorite thing about camp is the treats.

Ella Hague

Elvis impersonator, Doctor
Ella Hague is 14 years old. Ella attends Shelby County High School. Ella is cast as the Doctor and the Elvis impersonator, but you may have seen her in Matilda Jr, Gulliver’s Travels, Sword in the Stone, Shrek Jr, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, and many more. When Ella is at home, she likes to play Roblox, ride horses, and swim. Ella’s favorite thing about camp is blocking.

Elsie Fellmeth

Uranus
Elsie Fellmeth is 7 years old. Elsie is homeschooled. Elsie is cast as Uranus, but you may have seen her in Frozen Jr and Gulliver’s Travels. Elsie recently completed an improv class at SCAC. When Elsie is at home, she likes to draw, read, and play with all 14 of her stuffed animal dogs. Elsie’s favorite thing about camp is dancing.

Emma Hague

Assistant Stage Manager
Emma Hague is 17 years old. Emma recently graduated from Shelby County Highschool and will be attending the University of Alabama in the fall. Emma’s last role for SCAC is special, because she is our other Assistant Stage Manager. You may have seen Emma as Mrs. Wormwood in Matilda Jr, Emily in My Life’s a Musical, and Toodles in Peter Pan Jr. When Emma is at home, she likes to play her records, do her nails, and chill with her sisters Jules and Ella. Emma’s favorite thing about camp is all her little buddies.

Evelyn Burnham

Mercury
Evelyn Burnham is 9 years old. Evelyn is homeschooled. Evelyn is cast as Mercury, but you may have seen her in Gulliver’s Travels. When Evelyn is at home, she likes to read. Evelyn’s favorite thing about camp is making new friends.

Hazel Locker

Ensemble
Hazel Locker is 8 years old. Hazel attends Elvin Hill Elementary. Hazel is cast as Earth, but you may have seen her in Hats. When Hazel is at home, she likes to play and do gymnastics. Hazel’s favorite thing about camp is making props.

Jack Dudley

Tom Mizer
Jack Dudley is 13 years old. Jack is homeschooled. Jack is cast as Tom Mizer, but you may have seen him in 5 C.W.C productions. When Jack is at home, he likes to play his drums and piano and play video games. Jack’s favorite things about camp are acting and painting props.

John Charles Tallie

George in I'm Just a Bill
John Charles is 8 years old. John Charles attends Elvin Hill Elementary. John Charles is cast as George in I’m Just a Bill, but you may have seen him as Strongman in Greatest Hymn, Snake in Back to the Beginning, Dwarf/Little Shrek in Shrek Jr, and Ed in Lion King Jr. When John Charles is at home, he likes to play Roblox, hunt, and wrestle. John Charles’ favorite thing is games.

Jo Bess Yancey

Dori in A Noun is a Person, Place, or Thing and Janet in Interplanet Janet
Jo Bess Yancey is 13 years old. Jo Bess attends Shelby County High School. Jo Bess is cast as Dori in Noun is a Person, Place, or Thing and Janet in Interplanet Janet but you may have seen her as Ms. Phelps in Matilda Jr, Ensemble in Shrek Jr, and Middle Aged Anna in Frozen. Additionally, she is our Dance Captain and Assistant to the Director for our camp this year. This is her 10th theatre show. When Jo Bess is at home, she likes to run, sing, crochet, yap (to herself and others), draw, and make crafts. Jo Bess’ favorite thing about camp is the people.

Jules Hague

Neptune
Jules Hague is 10 years old. Jules attends Columbiana Middle School. Jules is cast as Neptune, but you may have seen her in Around Us, My Life is a Musical, Matilda Jr, and Gulliver’s Travel. When Jules is at home, she likes to swim and jump. Jules favorite thing about camp is playing games.

Kavya Chari

Kavya Chari is 12 years old. Kavya attends Joseph Bruno Montessori Academy. Kavya is cast as Dori in A Noun is a Person, Place, or Thing and Dina in Interjections, but you may have seen Kavya as Matilda in Matilda Jr, Jasmine in Aladdin Jr, and Rafiki in Lion King Jr. When Kavya is at home, she likes to play Roblox, swimming, and making art. Kavya's favorite thing about camp is acting.

Kelly Lunsford

Venus
Kelly is 9 years old. Kelly attends Calera Intermediate School. Kelly is cast as Venus and is excited to debut herself in her first theatre show at camp this year! When Kelly is at home, she likes to play Fortnite, make art, watch YouTube, and swim. Kelly’s favorite thing about camp is acting.

Lynix McCoy

Saturn and Franklin
Lynix McCoy is 8 years old. Lynix attends Chelsea Park Elementary. Lynix is debuting herself in her first role ever as Saturn and is so excited for her first theatre show. When Lynix is at home, she likes to play with toys. Lynix’s favorite thing about camp is that she can show off her true talent.

Marilyn Nichols

Dina in Interjections
Marilyn Nichols is 14 years old. Marilyn attends Shelby County High School. Marilyn is cast as Dina throughout the show and in Interjections, but you may have seen Marilyn as Lucy in A Charlie Brown Christmas, Storyteller 3 in Shrek Jr, and Escapologist/ensemble in Matilda Jr. Additionally, she is our Assistant Props Manager for our camp this year. When Marilyn is at home, she likes to perform a one woman show of Heathers, learn k-pop dances, make podcasts with her friends (that’s more chaotic than Mrs. Belks), draw, and write. Marilyn’s favorite things about camp are the people, the dancing, and how happy being at camp makes her.

Nate Fellmeth

Pluto
Nathan (Nate) Fellmeth is 5 years old. Nate is homeschooled. Nate is excited to be cast as Pluto in his first ever theatre show. When Nate is at home, he likes to build with Legos, ride his bike outside, and play with his siblings. Nate’s favorite thing about camp is lunch and singing all the fun songs.

Raegan Jezdimir

Shulie in Unpack Your Adjectives and Dori in The Great American Melting Pot
Raegan Jezdimir is 10 years old. Reagan attends Thompson Intermediate School. Reagan is cast as Dori in The Great American Melting Pot and Shulie in Unpack Your Adjectives, but you may have seen Reagan in Matilda as Amanda Thripp, Little Anna in Frozen, The Queen in Beauty is a Beast and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat. When Reagan is at home, she likes to dance, sing, watch TV, and swim. Reagan’s favorite thing about camp is choreography.

Ruth Stovall

Dina in Unpack Your Adjectives and Dina in The Great American Melting Pot
Ruth Stovall is 10 years old. Ruth attends Oak Mountain Intermediate School. Ruth is cast as Dina in Unpack Your Adjectives and Great American Melting Pot but you may have seen her as Nigel in Matilda, Wizard in Wizard of Oz, . When Ruth is at home, she likes to crochet, swim and paint. Ruth’s favorite things about camp are choreography and making new friends.

Sarah Dudley

Dori in The Preamble and Dori in Elbow Room
Sarah Dudley is 16 years old. She is homeschooled. Sarah is cast as Dori in Elbow Room and Shulie in The Preamble, but you may have seen Sarah in Chicken of the Faith, Pinocchio, Love’s Labors Lost, and other C.W.C productions. When Sarah is at home she likes to walk in the woods, read, write, or draw. Sarah’s favorite things about camp are singing, dancing, acting, and building friendships.

Lena Rios

Camp Director
Lena Rios is a recent graduate of the University of Montevallo. She received her Bachelors of Science in Theatre May of 2025 with plans to pursue theatre education. In February of 2022 she entered the world of children’s theatre. She started at South City Theatre in Pelham as the stage manager for Schoolhouse Rock Live! Jr, and has since been involved in theatre for the youth. Lena has been a part of many productions, such as The Addams Family Jr, James and the Giant Peach Jr, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, and many more. She has held various roles in these productions such as technical work, set work, stage managing, and even directing. In the summer of 2023 Lena volunteered at Shelby County Arts Council as their stage/props manager for Matilda Jr. In January of 2025, Lena came back to SCAC as their intern and Youth Theatre Director. She accomplished teaching an improv class called Improvisation Station that Spring. Lena is excited to officially become part of SCAC’s staff as an administrative assistant as well as continuing her role as Youth Theatre Director. In her free time she enjoys drawing, reading, hiking, playing with her cats Lester and Soot Sprite, and playing Just Dance (where she is currently a level 100).

Sarah Elizabeth Shelton

Director and Co-Choreographer
Sarah Elizabeth Shelton is a recent graduate of Shelby County Highschool. SE currently studies Acting and Musical Theatre at SCAD. You may have seen her in the past in roles such as Elsa in Frozen Jr and Ariel in The Little Mermaid Jr. While she also dedicates her time to acting, she is working hard behind the scenes directing and planning choreography for SCAC's children's theatre program. In the future, she plans to be an actor and work in film.

Ruth Turner

Music Director and Co-Choreographer
Ruth is so excited to be back at the SCAC to direct music for this years summer camp. This is her first show directing music and she couldn't be more excited to teach these campers the foundational skills of music and help aid them in a life-long love and ability of singing. Some of Ruth's favorite roles (both acting and directing) in past shows include Trunchbull (Matilda Jr) and Assistant Director for Frozen Jr. Ruth would like to thank her parents for all their support and Mrs. Belk for all of her support in this role.

Bailey Jackson

Stage Manager and Props Master
Bailey Jackson is currently a third grade teacher at Calera Intermediate School. She is the head of the Drama Club at Calera Intermediate that meets monthly! Theatre has always been a big part of her later life from doing shows and working backstage in high school to after college in children theatres! She is excited to see these young actors and actresses shine from behind the curtains!

Leslie Belk

Camp Diva, Helper, and Director of Community Outreach
Leslie is a graduate of Samford University with a degree in Music Education specializing in vocal performance. She has taught private voice lessons and worked in education for over 20 years. Leslie started teaching voice lessons at the Arts Council in 2021. That summer she directed her first Summer Theater Camp and loved the chaos of teaching and performing a musical in just one week! In summer of 2022, Leslie joined the staff of the Arts Council to help with front office customer service duties. After a couple of months she was hired as the Community Engagement and Event Manager. She continues to assist with customer service in the front office, but loves the opportunity to attend meetings in the community and share about all the amazing things happening at the Art Council! Leslie currently resides in Chelsea with her loving husband Justin and two amazing kids Hannah and Gabe. They have a cat named Mellie that LOVES to eat with a recent addition of a very lovable dog named Cosmo! Her whole world is her family and everyone that knows her, knows they keep her very busy!

Kathryn Myrick

Lighting
Kathryn Myrick is a former high school theatre teacher at Shelby County High School, and a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she received her bachelor’s degree in secondary education with a comprehensive concentration in language arts. She enjoys directing theatre, and has directed numerous (too many to count) plays and musicals for both children and young adults throughout her teaching career. Kathryn also enjoys acting, and has performed with Birmingham Festival Theatre, Virginia Samford Theatre, Homewood Theatre, Hoover Library Theatre, South City Theatre, Extemporaneous Theatre Company (ETC), and the former theatre company, Magic City Children’s Opera Company. Additionally, she has performed with various bands, including Just Friends Little Big Band, and Five of a Kind, and still fills in on occasion. Kathryn currently serves as SCAC’s Administrative Assistant, and thoroughly enjoys serving students, volunteers, and SCAC patrons, as well as assisting her coworkers with their day-to-day tasks.

Dakota Johnson

Sound Technician
Dakota Johnson is a staple to Shelby County Arts Council. While he is not being a tech wizard, he teaches guitar at SCAC. Check him out and his band when you have the time!
