Message from Today 4U Productions
Travel back to the Renaissance for an hour of musical comedy gold in Something Rotten! JR. Adapted from the Broadway hit that Time Out New York hailed as “the funniest musical comedy in at least 400 years,” Something Rotten! JR. celebrates one undeniable truth: “nothing’s as amazing as a musical!”
In the 1590s, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star known as “The Bard.” When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical. But amidst the scandalous excitement of opening night, the Bottom Brothers realize that reaching the top means being true to thine own self, and all that jazz. Something Rotten! JR. features large song and dance numbers, and a wacky cast of over-the-top characters, each with their own moment to shine.

Today 4U Productions brings together four theatre enthusiasts to create an incredible youth theatre company. We are dedicated to providing kids with an exciting and rewarding experience in the performing arts. Our program is designed to introduce young people to the world of theatre and help them develop their talents and abilities in an encouraging and supportive environment.

Alex
Alex is so happy to be playing Shakespeare in "Something Rotten Jr." This is his 9th show. Alex’s favourite song is Old Fat Spider and his dream role is Alexander Hamilton from "Hamilton". Alex quotes Percy Bysshe Shelley “I met a traveller from an antique land, Who said: “Two vast and trunkless legs of stone Stand in the desert. . . . Amelie is thrilled to be in "Something Rotten Jr". This is her 3rd show. Amelie is in Grade 9. Her favourite song is Shakespeare in Court 2 (ba, ha, ha). Her dream role is Anne Boleyn from "Six". “Bruh, how does one even make an omelette”
Aria
Aria is super excited to be in "Something Rotten Jr." This is Aria’s 3rd show. She is in Grade 6. Her favourite song is "Open Arms" by Jorge Rivera-Herrans . Aria is “tired and wants to sleep!”
Aria

Aspen
Aspen is thrilled to be playing the part of Brother Jeremiah in "Something Rotten Jr". This is her 14th show!. Her favourite song is “The Baby Screams” by The Cure. Aspen’s dream role is Elle Woods from “Legally Blonde“ . Aspen says “I want to thank my mum for supporting me always and my cousin Lucy who got me into theatre in the first place”

Avery
Avery is delighted to be playing the part of Lady Clapham in "Something Rotten Jr." This is her 4th show. Avery is in Grade 8 Her favourite songs are “Dangerous” from “Epic the Musical” and her dream role is Anne from “Anne of Green Gables”. Beatrix
Beatrix is thrilled to be a part of "Something Rotten Jr." This is her 1st show. Beatrix is in grade 7. Her favourite artist is Lorde. Her dream role on stage is Zoe Murphy from “Dear Evan Hansen”
Clara
Clara is thrilled to be part of "Something Rotten Jr."—her first show! She is currently in Grade 4. Clara doesn’t have a favourite song – she loves everything and is hoping to get a main part in a future production.
Cleo
Chloe is excited to a part of "Something Rotten Jr." This is Cleo’s 2nd show. She is in Grade 6. Her favourite song is “After the Fall” and if she could play any role on stage it would be Portia from “Something Rotten”
Chloe
Chloe is excited to a part of "Something Rotten Jr." This is Chloe’s 3rd show. She is in Grade 8. Her favourite song is “Harness Your Hopes” by Pavement and if she could play any role on stage it would be anyone from “Newsies”
Edison
Edison is happy to be part of "Something Rotten Jr." This is his 6th show! Edison is currently in Grade 4. His favourite song is “Et Si” and Edison would love to someday play Nostradamus in “Something Rotten”
Emsley
Emsley is really happy to be in "Something Rotten Jr." This is Emsley 2nd show with T4U. She is in Grade 3. Her favourite song is "I Let the World Burn". She would love to play the Sad Little Egg someday. Emsley “loves T4U and is really excited for the show”
Evalyn
Evalyn is thrilled to be playing Portia in "Something Rotten Jr." This is Evalyn’s 1st show. She is in Grade 9. Her favourite song from the show is "Shakespeare’s After Party 3" (ha, ha, ha). Her dream role would be Karen from Mean Girls. Evalyn wants to say “Make an Omelette!”

Evelyn is so happy to be in "Something Rotten Jr." This is Evelyn’s 3rd show with Today4U Productions. She is in Grade 4. Her favourite song is "The Best Things" by Mattie Leon. Evelyn is “super excited for my 3rd musical. Third time's the charm!”
Ezra
Ezra is happy to be back with T4U in "Something Rotten Jr." This is his 9th show. Ezra is in Grade 6. Ezra is really excited to be starting the show as a Minstrel.
Gen
Gen is happy to be part of "Something Rotten Jr."—her 5th show! She is currently in Grade 7. Her favourite songs are “Autopsy” by Neoni and “Pretty Little Things” by Kings and someday she would like to play Lady Clapham in "Something Rotten".
Hadley
Hadley is so excited to be part of "Something Rotten Jr." which is her 5th show! She is currently in Grade 6. Her favourite song is “Bubbly” by Good Kid. Hadley would someday like to play The Minstrel in "Something Rotten". Hadley also says “I’m super excited to be back with T4U”.
Hayley
Hayley is super excited to be playing the part of Nick Bottom in "Something Rotten Jr." This is her 13rd show! Her favourite song is “Holiday” by Green Day. Hayley would love to someday play Anastasia in “Anastasia the Musical”
I.J.
I.J. is happy to be playing in "Something Rotten Jr." This is their 2nd show. I.J. is in grade 8. I.J.’s favourite song is “Lost in the Supermarket” by The Clash. Their dream role on stage is Seymour in “Little Shop of Horrors” or Gatsby in “The Great Gatsby”
Isabel
Isabel is excited to be in "Something Rotten Jr. " A veteran stage performer, she has been in 12 shows. Isabel is in Grade 7. Her favourite song is "Pink Pony Club" by Chappell Roan and her dream role is Glinda in "Wicked". Isabel hopes you enjoy the show.
Isla
Isla is so happy to be in "Something Rotten Jr." This is her 4th show. Isla is in Grade 4. Her favourite song is "Opalite" by Taylor Swift . One day Isla would like to play Portia from "Something Rotten"
Janelle
Janelle is thrilled to be in "Something Rotten Jr. " This is Janelle’s 4th show. She is in Grade 8. Her favourite song is "Silent Treatment" by Freya Skye She would love to play Elsa someday. Janelle “loves this musical. It’s really awesome to be in it. I hope everyone who sees it will enjoy it.”
Jazz
Jazz is super excited to be playing the part of Bea in "Something Rotten Jr." This is her 9th show. Jazz is in grade 7. Her favourite song is “The Best” by Conan Gray. Her dream role on stage is Lydia or Eliza.
Josalie
Josalie so really excited to be in this production of "Something Rotten Jr." This is her 3rd show. Josalie is in Grade 8. Her favourite song is "Helpless" and her dream role is Katherine Howard from "Six the Musical".
Josie
Josie is so happy to be in "Something Rotten Jr." This is Josie’s 5th show. She is in Grade 7. Her favourite song is "The Great Divide" by Noah Kahan. If she could play any role on stage it would be Joyce Byers from "Stranger Things the First Shadow". Josie wants you to know that “this show has the best chorography she’s ever seen”.
Julia
Julia is so excited to be playing the part of Nigel in "Something Rotten Jr." This is her 11th show! She is currently in Grade 10. Her favourite song is “The World Has Gone Insane” from “Jekyll & Hyde” and her dream role is Christine from “The Phantom of the Opera“ . Julia quotes: “To thine own self be true”
Keelan
Kellan is so happy to be in "Something Rotten Jr." This is Kellan’s 3rd show. She is in Grade 8. Her favourite song is Brutal by Olivia Rodrigo. If Keekan could play any role on stage is would be Cherry Valance from "The Outsiders". Keelan says “You da man!”
Keira
Keira is so excited to be part of "Something Rotten Jr". which is her 3rd show! She is currently in Grade 3. Her favourite song is “Welcome to the Renaissance” from "Something Rotten". Keira is so happy to also be a townsperson on stage.
Kennedy
Kennedy is thrilled to be part of "Something Rotten Jr."—her 2nd show! She is currently in Grade 5. Her favourite songs are “Our Song” by Taylor Swift and her dream role is Shylock from “Something Rotten”. Kennedy wants to share “I think this is a really fun play and it is so funny!” Thanks to everyone”
Leighton
Leighton is super excited to be in "Something Rotten Jr.". This is her 4th show. Leighton is in Grade 2. Her favourite song is "The Fate of Ophelia" by Taylor Swift . Her dream role would be Jane Banks from "Mary Poppins". Leighton’s favourite musical is "Wicked"!
Lexie
Lexie is delighted to be in "Something Rotten Jr." This is her 3rd show. Lexie is in Grade 8. Her favourite song is "Taste" by Sabrina Carpenter. Lexie wants to share “I have awesomeness and everyone here is awesome. This musical was really fun to do!”
Lila
Lila is happy to be part of "Something Rotten Jr."—her 1st show! She is currently in Grade 4. Her favourite song is from "Something Rotten" - “Welcome to the Renaissance” She would love to some day be an egg in “Make An Omelette “
Lily
Lily is excited to a part of "Something Rotten Jr.". - her 1st show. She is in Grade 8, Her favourite song is “Everywhere Everything” by Gracie Abrams and Hoan Kahon and if she could play any role on stage it would be Thomas Jefferson from “Hamilton” Lily wants to share “I’m not so sure about all the eggs…”
Mabel
Mabel is so happy to be in "Something Rotten Jr." She has done too many shows to count. Mabel is in Grade 9. Her favourite song is "New Year’s Day" by Taylor Swift. Her dream role would be Zoe Murphy in "Dear Evan Hansen". Mabel wants to say “When life gives you eggs, make an omelette”.
Maia
Maia is so happy to be back with T4U in "Something Rotten Jr." When asked about her favourite song Maia said “how do I choose? There are just so many wonderful songs. “ Her dream role would be the writer of the show or Katharine from "Newsies". Maia wanted to say “It’s been so wonderful being a part of Today 4U and I’m so happy there’s such an amazing theatre group as this, providing young children with this opportunity to perform on stage. There are so many important skills that can be learned from theatre and it’s such a great form of self expression and I really value the friends I’ve made through it”
Natalie
Natalie is overjoyed to be in "Something Rotten Jr." This is Natalie’s 3rd show. She is in Grade 4. Her favourite song from the show is "It’s a Musical" and someday would love to play Stitch.
Norah
Norah is happy to be part of "Something Rotten Jr." This is her 3rd show! Norah is currently in the 7th Grade. Her favourite song is “Man I Hate Shakespeare” from this show and she would love to someday play Shylock in “Something Rotten”
Olive
Olive is delighted to be in "Something Rotten Jr.". This is her 5th show. She is in Grade 7. Her favourite song is "wish i loved you in the 90s" by Tate McRae. Her dream role is Angelica from "Hamilton". Olive “is the BEST”
Olivia
Olivia is happy to be in "Something Rotten Jr." This is her 6th show. Olivia is in grade 4. Her favourite song is “Entertainment Tonight” by Jenna Davis. Someday, Olivia would like to play Portia in “Something Rotten”.
Penny
Penny is so happy to be in "Something Rotten Jr."- her 6th show! Penny is in Grade 4. Her favourite song from the show is "We See the Light" and would some day like to play Nostradamus. Penny says "I really like the plot".
Rhoda
Rhoda is happy to be part of "Something Rotten Jr.".—her 1st show! She is currently in Grade 7. Her favourite song is “What was That” by Lorde and her dream role is Jared. Rhoda's favourite musical is “Dear Evan Hansen”.
Rosemary
Rosemary is thrilled to be in "Something Rotten Jr." This is her 3rd show. She is in grade 4. Her favourite song is from “A Musical” from "Something Rotten" Someday, she would like to play the Minstrel in “Something Rotten”.
Scotia
Scotia is super excited to be playing the part of Nancy Nostradamus in "Something Rotten Jr." This is her 5th show. Scotia is in grade 10. Her favourite song is “Evelyn Evelyn” by Evelyn Evelyn. Her dream role on stage is Karen Smith from “Mean Girls”
Sophie
Sophie is thrilled to be in "Something Rotten Jr." This is her 11th show. She is in grade 12. Her favourite song is “Big Cat” from A Killer Party. Someday, she would like to play Emma – the guy who doesn’t like musicals. Sophie wants to remind everyone “The sum of the square roots of any two sides of an isosceles triangle is equal to the square root of the remaining side!”
Thomas
Thomas is happy to be in "Something Rotten Jr." This is their 10nd show. Thomas is in grade 7. Their favourite song is “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” by Neoni. Their dream role on stage is Shylock in “Something Rotten”. Thomas wants to say “I like musicals”.
Karen Allen
Karen Allen is a retired teacher having taught with the Upper Grand District School Board for 35 years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, music major, from the University of Guelph and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Toronto. During her years of teaching, she taught English, Math, Music, and Drama to students from K-8. Karen developed a drama/improv programme for her grade 8 students which was acclaimed county wide. Along with directing many school musicals, Karen has been involved in many community theatre productions both as a performer and director. Karen is excited to be a Director of Today 4U Productions and looks forward to its success
Meghan Barron
Meghan Barron is a dancer, choreographer, and actor. She holds a specialist degree in Theatre and Drama studies from the University of Toronto Mississauga, as well as an honours diploma in Professional Actor-Training from Sheridan College, as well as a graduate of Second City's Longform conservatory. Meghan has been dancing since the age of 3 in a variety of styles including: ballet, jazz, tap, pointe, hip hop, modern, and musical theatre. Her extensive training includes studies at Ana Marie Oliver School of dance where she studied under the RAD and CDTA curriculum. Meghan has taught dance and musical theatre for over 14 years in various dance studios. Meghan is also an avid choreographer in and around the GTA.
Susan (Sue) Lawrenson
Susan (Sue) Lawrenson is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University, with an Honours Bachelor of Music Degree. (Voice). She is passionate about the performing arts and has been an active participant, both on and off stage, for dozens of theatrical productions over the past 37 years. When not on or back stage, Sue is the Executive Director of the Community Foundation of Halton North. In addition to that, she is a contract employee of Algonquin College, facilitating online fundraising courses which are offered throughout the province of Ontario.
Tyler Livingstone
Tyler Livingstone found his love of theatre at a young age, performing in several community theatre productions in elementary school, then progressing to establish his own youth theatre company in high school to create learning opportunities for himself and other young people in his community. Since then he has been active in a variety of roles in community theatre focusing on stage management and set design. He has also utilised his government and business background to implement policies and financial controls at an organisational level.
Gabriella Macerollo
Gabriella is a multidisciplinary artist, originally from Guelph, Ontario. Originating with a love of dance, she quickly discovered her passion for theatre, specifically focusing on dance, choreography, vocals, and acting. After graduating with a triple-major in Eastwood Collegiate’s Integrated Arts Program, she earned her Advanced Diploma in Music Theatre Performance from St. Clair College & a BA (Hons) in Performing Arts (Acting) from Atlantic Technological University in Sligo, Ireland. Throughout this time, Gabriella has had the joy of choreographing musicals for local youth, music directing at the National Music Camp of Canada, and getting to improvise with young guests as a character at Canada’s Wonderland. Gabriella is thrilled to join the T4U team and continue to share her love of creativity & the arts with the next generation!
Jane Martin
Jane is so happy to be helping Today 4U Productions. Jane is no stranger to the stage, recently bringing two brilliant characters to life - the Wicked Step Mother in "Cinderella" and The Wicked Witch of the West in "The Wizard of Oz". Jane has been a part of more than 50 productions both on and off stage. Jane has also been a director for many productions including "Matilda", "Annie" and "Joseph" and the upcoming "Oliver".
Bob Brown
Even after participating in over 60 productions, both on and off-stage, with more than 10 different companies, the excitement of working on a show never diminishes! Thanks for being in the audience!
Julie Van Duzen-Nantes
Julie is excited to be part of this amazing company! You mostly find her Stage Managing, but she's also proficient at lighting and costume designing. Julie has also found herself as a production coordinator and just directed her first mainstage musical "School of Rock". Karen, Sue, Meghan and Tyler, thanks for taking me on this journey with you.
Sheila Todd
Sheila is excited to once again be supporting T4U and this very talented group of youth performers and production team members in this year’s presentation of "Something Rotten Jr." She has played a variety of roles, both on and off stage with local musical theatre companies for over 30 year. The best part? - the laughter and friendships! Enjoy the show!
Carrie Murray-Sprague
Carrie has truly enjoyed working with the exceptional crew at Today 4U Productions, all of whom she has worked with on several productions. She is also thrilled to work with this talented cast of youth performers. Carrie is grateful to her family for allowing her to be a part of this wonderful (and sometimes crazy) theatre family.
Brenden Mernagh
Brenden has been involved in several musicals and theatre productions, most recently playing Lionel in "Cinderella" and Chef Louis in “Little Mermaid”. Brenden is thrilled to be working with his wife Meghan, daughter Leighton and little Lincoln who has been at many, many rehearsal. "Best of luck Today 4U Productions".
Kimberley Powell
Kimberley joined "Seussical Junior" as the Scenic Artist and has continued with T4U through “Shrek Jr.” and "Something Rotten Jr. "This is Kimberley's 3rd show. She is so happy to be able to use her artistic talents to help Youth Theatre and Today 4U Productions.
Steve Allen
Steve is so excited to be a BIG part of Today 4U Productions. Steve is no stranger to musicals and plays having been involved in several productions both on stage and off stage. "Break a leg to the cast and crew".
Meeghan Nolasco
Meeghan is excited to be working on "Something Rotten Jr." It has been fun working with old friends, and making new ones. Break a leg to all cast and crew.
Richard Dawson
Richard has supported Today4U Productions since "Seussical Jr." and is now thrilled to be "firing up the cannon" to help with follow spot for "Something Rotten Jr.". Wishing the cast a crew a great run. Have fun!
