Director's Note
I wish Spring Awakening was not considered a ‘timeless’ show. By all accounts, it fits the bill, doesn’t it? A timeless show is one that has in no way lost its relevance since its original release, it’s themes, story, and subjects just as potent and impactful today. Abuse, neglect, the encroaching of Church upon state, the dangers of overly controlled or ‘cleaned’ way of education that leaves children unequipped to deal with the sometimes harsh and brutal nature of reality, and more. None of this has stopped being relevant to us today. A lot of this looms larger in the wake of our current administration and climate. But, this also means that all of the hope of these characters, their romance, their passion, their vigor, their idealism, that is just as persistent and timeless as the sorrow. And it is in sharing this story and witnessing the bravery and hope of these kids in the face of such oppression that we hope to keep it alive, that we hope to help us all eventually find our purple summer. We tell this story to you now hoping that one day it is only the dream of these kids that is timeless, and we can finally look back on the ways in which society failed them and say, “Well, things were different back then.” Thank you for being here.

Noah Khorey
Noah is grateful to be part of this cast and production. He previously appeared in Rock of Ages and The Wedding Singer, making this his third show - and somehow, he’s still learning how to hit his marks. Much like choreography, collaboration isn’t an easy thing to master, and it doesn’t necessarily get easier with time. But there’s something meaningful about learning to move in sync with others and work toward a common goal. So for that, he’s thankful for the fact opportunity - and the challenge.
Gabrielle Knopp
Gabby is so honored to be apart of this production. The cast is phenomenal and it has been such a special experience to work on this show. Gabby has loved to sing since before she could read, and found her love for theatre in middle school. After focusing on science during college, she has since returned to the stage in her free time and could not be happier. Spring Awakening marks her 6th community theatre show in under 2 years and she cannot wait to see what else the future holds. She would like to thank her incredible family for always coming to see her shows, her voice teacher Traci for helping her find killer last minute audition songs, her director Ethan for trusting her with Wendla, her cast for always bringing the sillies right they’re needed, Sam for being an amazing scene partner, and her fiancé Collin for encouraging her to be brave, follow her heart, and always making her laugh. Finally, thank you to everyone who came out to see this hauntingly beautiful show. Getting to know Wendla has been challenging and so rewarding. Gabby is so grateful for the opportunity to tell her story and hopes everyone can find their own connection to her to learn about themselves.

With a love for puppeteering Max is currently constructing a whole new character named 'Curdie' in an original show titled 'The Princess and the Goblins' with Third Side Theatre Company, which features fabulous puppets. Max has also been seen flying high across the Imperial stage as 'Peter Pan', grooving it up as Sophie in 'Mamma Mia', and making folk giggle as Nicky in 'Avenue Q'. When Max is not onstage, they are either choreographing, teaching youth theatre, or painting! Being able to work with such an energetic and talented cast, Max is stoked to be able to share the story of 'Spring Awakening' with his cast fellow cast mates.

His most notable performance was on ABC’s American Idol, where he earned the coveted golden ticket and reached the Top 60.

Some of his favorites include Will (America Idiot), Dennis (All Shook Up), Tobias Ragg (Sweeney Todd), Tommy Ross (Carrie), and Male Presenting Swing (Spelling Bee) here at Vintage! Though this story is a tragic one, Michael is grateful that they can help to continue to tell this story that is relevant and important to this day.
