ABOUT THIS SHOW…
Acclaimed Tampa Bay meteorologist Dennis Phillips has provided seven rules to guide us through the tropical weather that impacts the area every year. This show explores how to apply these rules to your everyday life, like the band Talking Heads advised us, "as we get older and Stop Freaking Out (or Making Sense)".

Isn’t kind of weird that you’re producing a whole show about him then? Maybe but it’s not about him specifically. It’s really about his 7 Rules.

Denis Phillips
Chief Meteorologist · WFTS-TV: Renowned for wearing his "trademark" suspenders and earning the trust of viewers by skipping the hype, and focusing on facts in his weather forecasts. His Rule #7 (Don't freak out unless I'm freaking out, we're fine) has become a motto many Bay Area residents live by during hurricane season.
Talking Heads
Talking Heads were an American band that consisted of David Byrne, Christopher Frantz, Tina Weymouth and Jerry Harrison. Described as "one of the most critically acclaimed groups of the '80s," Talking Heads helped to pioneer new wave music by combining elements of punk, art rock, funk and world music.
“Stop Making Sense”
“Stop Making Sense” is a 1984 film directed by Jonathan Demme, featuring performances by Talking Heads. It was shot over four nights in December 1983 at Hollywood’s Pantages Theatre while the band (augmented with the addition of Lynn Mabry, Ednah Holt, Alex Weir, Bernie Worrell and Steve Scales) were on tour promoting their 1983 album, “Speaking in Tongues.” It was restored and re-released in 2014 by A24, an American independent entertainment company specializing in film and television production and distribution.
