Director’s Note

Welcome to The Addams Family!

Directing this production has been an incredibly meaningful experience for me. I am a proud Florida State University Theatre graduate with a deep passion for directing and storytelling, but long before that, I was a student at Miami Children’s Theatre myself. MCT was instrumental in my upbringing—not only as a young director/performer, but as a person. It gave me confidence, creativity, friendships, and a lifelong love of theatre. I hope it does the same for your children.

The Addams Family has been both fun and challenging in the best ways possible. This show asks us to embrace what makes us different, celebrate individuality, and remember the importance of family, love, and acceptance. Beneath all the comedy, darkness, and chaos is a surprisingly heartfelt story about learning to let people grow into who they truly are.

Our cast has worked incredibly hard over the past weeks, and I could not be prouder of the dedication, humor, and heart they have brought into rehearsals every day. Theatre is always a team effort, and this production would not have been possible without the support of our families, creative team (Vicky and Joanna), staff, volunteers, and everyone behind the scenes who helped bring this spooky world to life.

We hope you enjoy watching this show as much as we enjoyed creating it. Thank you for supporting youth theatre and for being here to celebrate the hard work of these talented young performers.

Enjoy the show!

Leticia Mora (Director)
