Meet the Company

Will Hoehne

Lucentio
Will Hoehne - Lucentio Will is an avid fan of the theatre, he’s even going to school for a bachelors in it. He loves participating in plays any way he can. Currently he’s done over 20 shows since he starting acting back in high school. He’s done Shakespeare, Musicals, Plays and even One Acts. Being a part of so many shows it’s hard to pick one favorite he’s done over the years but he’d have to say that Arsenic and Old lace is his favorite.(Having now done it twice).

Matthew Gouin

Tranio
Matthew Gouin - Tranio Matt has been in community theater for a year now, and in that time, has appeared in five shows. He’s played as supporting characters like Arnold in Noses Off, as well as main characters like Jonathan Brewster in Arsenic and Old Lace. In Taming of the Shrew, he plays the witty, shrewd, and cunning Tranio, retainer to Lucentio and mastermind behind most of the incidents and events occurring in the show.

Jim (Hawk) Hawkins

Baptista
Jim (Hawk) Hawkins - Baptista Jim Hawkins (Baptista Minola) has played with various theater groups in the Wausau area over the years - WCT, UWMC, CWCT, Oasis, Mad Regals, CenterStage, Mosinee Community Theater, Out of the Woods, and River and Woods. Favorite roles include King Arthur, Big Daddy, Ludwig II, Tony Reilly, Major-General Stanley, Pooh-Bah, Noah, and Joe Keller. He is a retired lawyer, a graduate of the University of Southern North Dakota at Hoople, and a well-seasoned actor who loves cumin, chili, and cilantro. He and his wife Paula met in theatrical pursuits and have played husband and wife both on- and off-stage for many happy years.

Dan Thompson

Hortensio
Dan Thompson - Hortensio This is Dan’s first (-ish) show with River and Woods, and it has been a delight. His first Shakespeare, and his first outdoor performance! On the scale of Evil Character roles that Dan has played, Hortensio comes in at a 4/10: kinda creepy and annoying. On par with Mr. Feldzig from The Drowsy Chaperone, but far from Plankton in SpongeBob, who is a clear 8/10 for attempted murder. :)

Ian Welsh

Gremio
Ian Welsh - Gremio Ian Welsh has been doing theater since he was 12 years old and is very excited to be a part of his first Shakespeare show. Some of his favorites include Seussical, Young Frankenstein, and Cats. Enjoy the show and get ready to laugh!

Recently, she performed in Wausau Community Theatre’s productions of Anything Goes, A Christmas Carol, Heathers. She also performed in River and Woods production of Sleepy Hollow. She would like to thank her dogs Orbit and Louis for helping her memorize her lines. She hopes you enjoy the show! Thank you for supporting community theater ❤

Some of her favorite past roles are Amanda in Matilda, Peter Quince in A Midsummer Night's Dream, and her absolute favorite role: Prince Reveille in Princess Whatsername. She hopes you enjoy the show, especially the two scenes she's in, and encourages you to take the the stage yourself.

V Smith

Peter, Haberdasher, Old Man
V Smith - Peter, Haberdasher, Old Man This is V's first show and he is really enjoying the whole experience, even though Cindi gave him 3 different characters!

Cindi Strobel

Tailor
Cindi Strobel - Tailor Due to a cast member's unfortunate injury last week, Cindi (Director) had to jump into the tailor's role. She always enjoys playing comical roles and hopes she does LaTonya Sala's role justice!

Reese Aarthun

Widow
Reese Aarthun - Widow Widow is the shortest and most fun role I have had. My background is Sing and Dance with WIMS/Centerstage for 33 years, roles in other Shakespeare in the Park productions, music writer (and singer) for several productions and my favorite role as Old Shady in Men On Boats for WCT’s theater-on-the-side.
