DIRECTOR'S NOTE

Welcome to the spooky, kooky, and delightfully creepy world of The Addams Family Musical!

This is my very first musical at St Andrews International School, Bangkok and what a way to start! Not only is it my first HS Production here, but it’s also the first time I’ve directed a cast this big. It’s been a thrilling challenge and one that reflects the energy, diversity and creativity of our big and bustling school.

The Addams Family Musical is a perfect fit for a place like ours where we celebrate individuality, embrace inclusivity, and know that “normal is an illusion” (as Morticia so wisely puts it). Here at STA, we cherish the uniqueness of every individual, and it’s that spirit that gives this show its heartbeat.

The sheer scale of the cast and crew is matched only by their dedication and talent. It’s been a joy to work with such a passionate group of students, who’ve poured their hearts (and a bit of theatrical mischief) into creating this world. Their enthusiasm has truly brought every quirky family member—living, dead, and undecided—to life.

A huge thank you to every student who’s been part of the journey—you’ve made this all happen. And to my incredible colleagues in the Performing and Visual Arts Faculty, across departments, and the ever-reliable Estates Team.  Thank you for your support, encouragement and for helping keep the mansion upright and the Ancestors (mostly) in line.

Now sit back, relax, and remember: if you feel like things are getting a little strange… you’re probably exactly where you’re meant to be.

Synopsis

The Addams Family: The Musical

Book by Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice | Music and Lyrics by Andrew Lippa

Welcome to the kookiest, spooky, and most delightfully dysfunctional family in musical theatre – the Addams Family! This hilarious and heartwarming musical brings to life the iconic characters from Charles Addams' original cartoons, as we explore the dark, quirky, and humorous world of Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday, Pugsley, Uncle Fester, Grandmama, and the lovable butler, Lurch.

When Wednesday Addams, the gothic and mysterious daughter, falls in love with a sweet, normal young man named Lucas Beineke, her family’s world is turned upside down. Wednesday asks her father, Gomez, to keep the engagement a secret from Morticia, but when the Beineke family is invited to dinner at the Addams mansion, chaos ensues. As secrets are revealed and tensions rise, everyone must come to terms with the clash of family traditions, love, and acceptance.

Filled with dark comedy, catchy songs, and memorable moments, The Addams Family: The Musical explores the theme of what it means to be part of a family and the beauty of embracing individuality in all its oddities. Will Gomez and Morticia accept their daughter’s choice? Will the Addams family survive the unexpected visit from the “normal” Beinekes? Find out in this thrillingly quirky, laugh-out-loud production that celebrates the peculiarities of family life!

Meet the Company

Prame

Gomez Addams
Prame - Gomez Addams A warm welcome to The Addams Family! My name’s Prame, and I play Gomez. I’ve been learning acting for quite some time now and just finished IGCSE Drama last year. The Addams Family will be the last production I’ll be in, and most likely the last time I perform on stage as I am in Year 12. I’m very excited to show you what we’ve been working on. I hope you all enjoy the show! :)

Tia

Morticia Addams
Tia - Morticia Addams Hello!! ^_^ My name is Tia, and I am playing Morticia Addams tonight. This is my first ever lead role in a big production (my role as Peter Pan in my old school doesn’t count – thanks to COVID), and it’s safe to say that I am both ecstatic and deathly nervous. Trying to capture Morticia’s character was way harder than I expected because, well, she’s really just gorgeous in all the ways. I’m a 15-year-old girl with dyed red hair. But with help from my teachers and the black-and-white Addams Family sitcom, I managed to (somewhat) pull it off. What I’m trying to say is: never stop trying. You’ll get it eventually.

Luke

Uncle Fester
Luke - Uncle Fester Salutations, everyone! My name is Luke, and I am delighted to be your Uncle Fester tonight! As a Year 10 student, I’ve been involved in many performances and musicals during my time here at St. Andrews, but this is my first time playing a lead role. As a lover of musical theatre—inexperienced as I am—I hope I’ll be able to bring you the same joy and magic this evening.

Minon

Wednesday Addams
Minon - Wednesday Addams Hello everyone! My name is Minon, and I play Wednesday Addams. I’ve taken part in St. Andrews’ productions ever since Year 4 and have been cast in both big and small roles throughout my drama journey. Although I had a lead role last year as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde, this year has been quite challenging—especially when it comes to characterization—because Elle is the complete opposite of Wednesday. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to play this role, but also nervous, as it goes against my nature. I’ll be drawing on all my inner darkness, and hopefully, you’ll believe in the world of The Addams Family that we’ve created. I want to thank all our STA teachers and friends for working together to bring this wonderful show to life and for supporting one another throughout the process. We’ve worked on this over three terms and given it our all—so I truly hope you’ll love it!

Bastian

Pugsley Addams
Bastian - Pugsley Addams Hiya! My name is Bastian, I’m playing Pugsley Addams, Wednesday’s little brother for you tonight. This is my first time acting ever, it’s a new thing to me, so I hope all my efforts will have made a good first impression! The production has really put my singing and acting skills to work, but it is really very fun despite the rather twisted timetable. I’m in Year 7, so it is my first time in High School as well as in a musical. I’m proud of all the things I have achieved, so please enjoy the show!

Eloise

Grandma Addams
Eloise - Grandma Addams Hiya everyone, my name is Eloise and I am playing Grandma Adams for you tonight… After a long track record of being in a variety of St Andrew’s performances this will be my last ever production so I am beyond proud and excited to show you what we have been working on the past three terms!

Jayden

Lurch
Jayden - Lurch Hi everyone!! My name is Jayden, and I’ll be playing the role of Lurch in our school production of The Addams Family musical. I hope you enjoy my take on Lurch—I’m super excited to be performing in such a major role! I hope you all laugh and have fun watching us in any of our performances. I’m so proud of our cast, our set team, our tech team, and all of STA’s amazing teachers for helping bring this production to life. We’re all together ooky… The Addams Family!

Jace

Mal Beineke
Jace - Mal Beineke Hi everyone reading this! My name is Jace, and in The Addams Family I’ll be playing Mal Beineke, the father of Lucas. I’m truly grateful to have been given this role, as it’s my first time playing a character with more than just a handful of lines. Of course, since this is a musical, I’ve also had to do some dancing while acting—something that doesn’t come naturally to me—but I’ve tried my best!

Fi

Alice Beineke
Fi - Alice Beineke Hi everyone :) My name is Fi and I have been participating in productions since I came to STA in Year 8! I play Alice, the mother of Lucas Beineke and a housewife with an unexpected side to her. She is a complex character whose struggles I found hard to relate to at first, but with the help of my lovely teachers, I’ve grown to embrace and enjoy playing both sides of her personality. Every member of the cast put a lot of effort into this show, and I hope you love it as much as we do!

Scott

Lucas Beineke
Scott - Lucas Beineke Hello! My name is Scott, and I play Lucas in The Addams Family. This is my second time doing a musical—my first experience was playing Carlos in Legally Blonde. I’ve loved playing the role of the romantic lead and learning how to sing. I’m still working on improving my singing skills, facial expressions, and silent acting, but I’ve really enjoyed the process!

THANK YOU!

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful parents and carers. Your support for the Arts at STA has made a real difference. From helping your children learn their lines and sourcing costumes to rearranging your schedules for weekend and evening rehearsals—you’ve been there every step of the way. Your encouragement and commitment have helped bring this production to life.

To Mr. Paul, Mr. Roo, and Miss Jen – your constant support has helped this kooky crew shine brighter than Uncle Fester’s lightbulb. Thank you for championing creativity, eccentricity, and the wonderfully weird in every student.

To Yui, Fon and the entire purchasing team – you’ve been the silent stars behind the scenes.  Your efforts have helped us create a world where cobwebs are classy and gloom is glamour.

To our audience – thank you for snapping along and stepping into the peculiar charm of the Addams world. We’re thrilled to share this musical with you.

With a tango in our hearts and gratitude in our bones,

The STA Performing and Visual Arts Faculty

Thank you!
