Meet the Company
Michael Kenyon
Michael (The Lawyer) is thrilled to bring Chekhov's short story to life in this unique two-person musical. A recent First Class BA (Hons) Acting for Stage & Screen graduate from the University of East London (UEL) and a proud member of the National Youth Theatre, Michael most recently appeared as John in Till the Stars Come Down. He would like to thank the creative team for this brilliant opportunity!
Joshua Horn
Joshua Horn started his journey in theatre at thirteen where he joined a local theatre school and was trained in singing and dancing. Later on, becoming a graduate from the University of East London with a first in Acting for Stage and Screen, where he finished his training with the role of Tony in a production of Till the Stars Come Down. He has also been involved in screen projects such as The Ones Who Wear Us (Josh), where he also took on the role of producer.
Phoenix Gould
Phoenix (they/she/he) is so excited to welcome you to The Bet! They are working on a Masters of Fine Arts in Theatre Directing at University of East London (UEL) and has previously worked on 4.48 Psychosis, Peter & the Starcatchers, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. They would like to thank their family, friends, and course-mates/lecturers for all the support and helpful advice! They would also like to send a massive thank you to Ellen, Michael, Josh, Annabelle, and Filip for working on this show and creating something really awesome!
Ellen King
Ellen (she/her) started writing The Bet in 2024 and is excited to see her debut musical being performed in full for the first time! Ellen's songs have been performed at the Showtime Showcase (Stagedoor Southampton), MMD Open Mic Nights (The Other Palace), and at the Midland’s Arts Centre (MAC). She would like to thank Phoenix, Michael, and Josh, for bringing the show to life, and Filip, Annabelle and the great community of musical theatre creatives at MMD for supporting Ellen in the development of the show.
