Director's Notes:
Welcome to the booming town of Ephesus, lead by the Honorable Duke Solinus. Here we welcome all, well--- except anyone from Syracuse, those people we either charge 1.000 gold mark or put them to death. But other than that small thing, we have some fine businessmen in town, Antipholus of Ephesus, his servant Dromio, his dear wife Adriana, her sister Luciana, as well as Balthasar, Angelo the Goldsmith, and many other fine merchants. For your entertainment, we offer a fine restaurant called the Porpentine, a lovely Inn called the the Centaur, and the attentions of a beautiful Courtesan, who happens to have a lovely singing voice, as well as her other..... talents. There is also an Abbey, lead by the reverend and virtuous Abbess.
Into this scenic little hamlet (see what I did there? :) ) comes some visitors. The first, an unfortunate and rather bedraggled old man but the name of Egeon, who happens to be from Syracuse (see above....). Egeon is in search of his son and his servant, both of whom have been traveling the world in search of his long lost twin brother and his mother. Both were lost at sea when Antipholus was an infant, along with a servant, also a twin, Dromio.
Another visitor is a bright young man by the name of Antipholus, with his servant, Dromio. Notice anything familiar here? Yes, indeed my friends, we have twins, both with the exact same name, who happened to have servants, who are also twins, and also have the exact same name.
I am not sure that the little town of Ephesus is ready for the chaos about to ensue..... but, dear reader, I hope you are!
Welcome to "The Comedy of Errors" and thank you so much for supporting live theatre in Wausau!

Dan Thompson
Dan Thompson has been in the theat’r scene
In Wausau for some two years and six months
