Children’s Theatre of Charleston (CTOC) is a non-profit organization designated as the Official West Virginia Children’s Theatre. Thousands of children and  adults have participated in Children’s Theatre productions over the years.
The Children’s Theatre of Charleston serves and enriches our community, inspiring young people to create fulfilling and productive lives through the art of theater.  Every season, CTOC performs a series of shows for local school children and the general public.  Giving children and families the opportunity to share the tota  theatre experience, CTOC auditions are open to all children, regardless of age, race, religion, or nationality.
CTOC’s Beyond the Stage (BTS) was created in order to continue the mission of CTOC to create extraordinary theatre experiences for young people in grades 8-12 in the Kanawha Valley. This experience allows the BTS members to grow in leadership, communication, and public speaking. It helps them to accumulate community service hours and references for their future job, college, and school of arts applications. Members of BTS set their own agenda and projects each year. They work behind the stage as assistants to all members of the CTOC production staff: director, stage manager, set design, props and costumes. In addition, BTS selects, develops and performs one production each year.  Thousands of children and adults have participated in Children’s Theatre Productions.  Whether you’re still in school or young at heart, CTOC has a place for you. Join us today!
