Hello, everyone! We are thrilled to invite you to experience "The Oath," a captivating play reminding us that we can never truly erase the skeletons in our closet. This dramatic story, full of comedy and smiles, bridges the history of the world's darkest war with the resilience of a people who refuse to give in. The Story: In 1966 Communist Poland, best friends Gershon and Mendel, who escaped to Israel 22 years earlier, return for a funeral. Through conversations and arguments, they confront a night that will forever change their lives. Infused with Yiddish folklore and live music, it's a celebration of heritage, identity, and memory.

Mendel
Tony Peer - Mendel Tony Peer is an actor and composer based in New York. He is currently starring in The Oath as Mendel and he has recently starred in the production of Ordering a Hearse at the New York Theater Festival and frequently composes music for film and TV projects Globally. You can hear his work in the production of The Oath and in the upcoming feature film, Red Night Special, Rise of Red.

Christopher Adams

Gershon
Christopher Adams - Gershon Christopher Adams is a journalist, but he acts from time to time. A friend and frequent collaborator with director Clara Grusq, Adams played Gershon in the original staging of The Oath, and is both proud and excited to be able to reprise the role and continue working on important work. Previously, he was a part of Grusq’s staged reading of her play El Desdichado, and most recently, he played Marc in a production of Yasmina Reza’s Art at The New School for the Performing Arts.

Chloe Berek

Sarah
Chloe Berek - Sarah Chloe Berek is an actor/singer based in New York. Her recent credits include a staged reading of the new musical "Reaching Glory" and "The Blueprint: A DNA Musical" at The Tank NYC. Chloe is grateful for the opportunity to portray Sarah in "The Oath," a role that holds special meaning for her as the granddaughter of Holocaust survivors. This performance is a tribute to their enduring legacy. Thank you to the cast, crew, and my most amazing friends and family for their support and love. L’Chaim!

Arielle Zaytsev

Magda
Arielle Zaytsev - Magda Arielle Zaytsev is so thrilled to be joining the cast of The Oath and be a part of telling this beautiful story. A recent grad of Pace University’s Acting program, she has recently been seen as Erica in BrooklynOne’s SubUrbia and in various original works and short films. As the great granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, it means the world to Arielle to join this cast and she thanks you for coming to the show.

Clara Grusq

Playwright and Director
Clara Grusq - Playwright and Director Clara Grusq is a versatile Jewish and French-American director, playwright, and creative producer based in New York. Born in Paris, France, and descended from Holocaust survivors and resistants of the Algerian War, Clara brings a deeply personal and historical perspective to her work. Her self-produced theatrical creations have been developed at The Tank Theater and the New York Theater Festival. In every aspect of her artwork and creative journey, Clara aims for her audiences to experience the perfect fusion of excitement and disturbance.

Noy Marom

Creative Producer
Noy Marom - Creative Producer She was born and raised in Israel and moved to New York in 2014 to pursue acting. Noy is a graduate of The Stella Adler Studio of Acting, class of 2017. Other training and workshops include: Grace Kiley Acting, The Barrow Group and The Nissan. Nativ Acting Studio (Israel). Some of her favorite theater credits include: Dian in Escape from Happiness, Sara in God of Vengeance, Charlotte in It׳s Not Normal, Maria in Yerma, Roberta in Hearter and Jen X in Generations. Producing credits include: Last Summer at Bluefish Cove and Kiss That Frog at the Artist Co-op (Virago Ensemble), Best Friends at the Rattlestick Theater, Yerma at the Vino Theater and the short film A New York Moment.
