Well, the time is now as she steps into her first acting role with Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew. “I am beyond excited and grateful to play a serving woman and the widow. This is her first foray into directing Shakespeare, though she's appeared in several Shakespeare productions. You last saw her on stage as "Evil Elf" in A Christmas Story, Rebecca Hemmings in The Book of Will, and as Reynaldo in Hamlet in 2023, her first show at Gaslight she played Heather #1 in the Awesome 80s Prom. Kayla is eternally grateful for all Directors that have cast her in the past or asked for her assistance behind the scenes. Her favorite part of being an AD is the casting process- helping to decide who will fit the roles the best and have the best chemistry with one another and seeing those actors really own those characters and bring them to life off of the script pages and shine.
She looks forward to her next adventures with the theater.
