Directors Note

Thank you so much for joining Pallas Players for this powerful night of theatre.  When The Vagina Monologues debuted in 1996 it received a powerful response for breaking social taboos surrounding female bodies, sexuality and sexual violence. Audiences and critics praised its raw humor and empathy.   Thirty years later it still holds a  place as an important piece of feminist theatre.  It is even more powerful today as we are seeing a reversal in women's and trans rights constantly being challenged.  As we revisit this incredible piece of theatre it is even more important to listen to these stories as an echo of the continuing need to keep women, trans and LGBTQ voices empowered.    Enjoy the Show!

Mission Statement

Pallas Players strives to empower the voices of the feminine spirit in all its forms. Our goal is to produce plays from female presenting playwrights, strong feminine story lines and voices from  LGBTQ+ and P.O.C. We invite all people, from all walks of life, to work, share and explore the creation of art and theater inspired by the feminine spirit.

Pallas Players-Pallas is the epithet of the goddess Athena. The Goddess of War, wisdom, and craft.  In Astrology, “One’s Pallas sign dictates how we fight for our desires, bring justice to matters, utilize our artistic talents and find wisdom. Pallas’s dance through each sign shows how we can manifest these qualities.”’ Pallas (Athena) is a symbol for our creative intelligence and often hints at the sacrifice of women's own creativity or the lack of respect for it. She brings to the fore father-daughter issues, and points to difficulties in linking head, heart, and womb.”
