Directors Note
Welcome to The Wizard of Oz! In a tale known far and wide, we are ecstatic to bring it to life. I have a feeling we won’t be in Conifer for long…
I would like to thank my marvelous creative team, Mallory Vanbeek, Maisie Mitchell, and Stella Stroop, who have worked tirelessly with me to put on this incredible show. You three truly have a talent for teaching kids and doing so with immense kindness.
Every single person in this cast has put their heart into the performance you are about to see. Having worked with most of these students on shows before this, I can say without a doubt that they have grown in so many ways as performers—in ways you will see on stage and in the confidence that has grown inside them. Seeing that growth is one of the greatest joys of doing this work.
It has been such a joy to bring one of the most well-known stories to life. We’re off to see the wizard!
