The Multi-Award-Winning  ‘WHEN WE WERE YOUNG’ is back after a sell out run at the Edinburgh Fringe and is going beyond the tabloid stereotype of ‘Neds’ to tell a powerful and hilarious story about the realities of gang culture and young team mentality in Glasgow during the 90’s as we follow the lives of one of the many young teams who polluted the streets of the city during a time it was known as The Murder Capital of Europe.

What a show! I wasn't sure what to expect, but this was brilliantly put together. It will make you laugh your head off 1 minute and cry the next. A very strong message in the story and acted superbly to highlight the issues. Would recommend this to everyone and would go back and watch it again myself - it is that good.

I was really impressed with the acting. Being raised in Easterhouse i saw this thing on a regular basis. The actors drew me in to every aspect of the show it could have been my story as alot of young people growing up in the schemes in Glasgow. I will definitely be going to see the show every chance I get. I have been raving about this show to all my friends and family.

When We Were Young was an amazing experience. The swift changes from laugh out loud funny, to heartbreaking, captured the struggle of the protagonists beautifully. The performances of the actors were mesmerising, and at times, you couldn’t hear a pin drop. The message about class in Scotland and the desperate measures taken simply to stay afloat is as relevant now as it was in the 1990s when the characters were in their formative years. Congratulations to all involved - it would not be exaggerating to say the play is a masterpiece in story telling,

What a fantastic show. Both funny and heartbreaking in equal measures. This needs to be shown everywhere, it's such an important issue, not only in Scotland but any big city. Huge well done to the cast, utterly brilliant.
Linda Cunningham
Brilliant show. I laughed, I cried and now I can’t stop thinking about the Glasgow I knew in the 90’s and how glad I am I wasn’t a mother of a son in those days.
Sara
Absolutely loved it. Took me back to growing up in the 90s in Glasgow. Related to many parts of the story, powerful and funny at the same time. Loved how humour was used whilst portraying a sad and devastating story which has been reality for many people in Glasgow and beyond. A must see! Will defo be back to see it again, and will have the hankies next time. Thank u guys x

What can I say. This performance absolutely blew me away. It was laugh out loud funny and also that emotional that I’d be surprised if there was a dry eye in the theatre. The story just hits home the reality of our society and not just in the 90’s. My husband didn’t even want to go & said it’s the best play he’s ever seen
Sarah Jones
