Writer/Director's Note:

Baby Steps is a work that is incredibly important in this moment in time. It serves as a reminder that Queer identities deserve to be in the spotlight, and solidifies the validity of the LGBTQIA+ experience. With recent legislation, much of which is affecting this very university, which actively discourages the celebration of diversity and identity, it is integral to allow LGBTQIA+ voices to take the stage. This production serves as a reminder that we will never be silenced, and we will continue to stand strong in the face of adversity. We are here, we are Queer, and we will never disappear.

Content Warning:

Themes of Homophobia, Deadnaming, and Unaccepting Family

*Please see the end of this program for a list of resources that may help support students and other individuals, following the passing of State Bill 1 and the closure of Identity Centers.
