Beyond the Pale was Inspired by the global unrest of 2020, the play draws striking parallels to The Troubles in Northern Ireland—a violent conflict rooted in colonialism, sectarianism, and systemic oppression.

Set in a fictionalized 1990s Belfast, the story follows Fiadh and Nicola—two women from opposite sides of a cultural divide—as they

struggle toward self-definition, acceptance, and reconciliation. Their personal journeys unfold against a backdrop of political violence and

fragile hope, mirroring the social reckonings of today.
